Tom T. Hall - Old Dogs, Children and Watermelon Wine.
How old do you think I am he said I said well I didn’t know He said I turned 65 about 11 months ago I was sitting in Miami pouring blended whisky down When this old grey black gentleman was cleaning up the lounge There wasn't any one around but this old man and me The guy who tended bar was watching ironsides on tv Uninvited he sat down and opened up his mind On old dogs and children and watermelon wine Have you ever had a drink of watermelon wine he asked He told me all about it though I didn't answer back Ain't but three things in life that's worth a solitary dime That's old dogs and children and watermelon wine He said women think about themselves when their men-folk aren't around And friends are hard to find when they discover that you're down He said I tried it all when I was young and in my natural prime Now it's old dogs and children and watermelon wine He said old dogs care about you even when you make mistakes God bless little children while they're still too young to hate As he moved away I got my pen and copied down that line On old dogs and children and watermelon wine
Of course you are both right, and that is part of what really makes me feel helpless. Will Mankind ever be able to attain a peaceful existence? Probably not.
That little guy should be worried about getting the latest video game, not surviving a social outing. He had the same teeth I did at that age. His parents must be in a living hell right now.
What concerns me is, the more this kind of thing happens, the more mainstream it becomes. We take it as part of the times we live in, and that is a very dangerous perspective IMO. This is insanity, and it should never be perceived as anything but insanity.
This is probably the work of some domestic "Timothy McVeigh" type piece of shit, but too early to rule out Al Qaeda.
My condolences for those who lost loved ones, and the injured. What a senseless tragedy!
I used to be a serious rider, but Anchorage had ample opportunity to ride. There really is no place safe to ride here, other than the beach. Not to mention the corrosion from salty air here.
The moment I move from here I'm buying a new bike.
I think age alone could account for some variation in sound. I noticed some pretty wide variation in the Yamaha ortho drivers.
Marc's T50s were excellent!
