  1. This is what I constantly am telling twinks!
  2. I made that 3 years ago. I thought it was excellent.
  3. I cropped one of the joints... You can see that the upper piece is slightly darker than the lower piece. But it's a nice, tight joint.
  4. I know that if one of the boss' is happy with my work, the customer will be happy. Ciaran has an incredible eye. He'll spot things that no one else will notice. He came through today and was quite pleased. The customers are coming tomorrow for a meeting, so we'll see. I'm happy with how everything has turned out. Now I'm outside finishing up the Ipe stairs and landing. Even the ceiling above the landing is Ipe. As usual for us, this customer seems to have unlimited funds. The thing about the handrails is that the specialty lumber yard only had 8' lengths of the 8/4 Walnut and White Oak. The long runs are about 19', so I had to make two joints. They're scarfed and held together with dominoes. They came out great. Super tight tolerances.
  5. I see what you did there.
  6. The stairs are covered with paper to protect them, but they are also White Oak. So these will match quite well.
  7. Here is the Walnut with said stain, and the metal rail cap. This metal rail will ne painted Black to match the wall rail brackets. The White Oak rails have stainless brackets, and that metal rail is also stainless.
  8. I just set the table saw to the desired angle and ran it through, turned it over and ran it through on the opposing side. I did have a second set of hands attached to Al.
  9. They're trying to match the finish on the nearby Walnut kitchen cabinets, and thought that was the closest match. It really was close.
  10. I'd like to, but the customers picked out a Mahogany stain? Luckily it doesn't change the look of the Walnut much. Just darkens it a bit. It'll get a water based clear poly on top of that. I would have gone with Rubio mono-coat in Walnut.
  11. They were, as well as my neck.
  12. You can't see from these pics, but the handrails have a pitched top. Kind of like a 4/12 roof.
  13. Lots of crazy compound angles!
  14. I made custom handrails for my current work site project. This morning I finished up the upstairs two rails in Walnut. Am now working on the same layout downstairs, in White Oak. And have some metal rails coming later today, that will get capped in the same Walnut and White Oak. Those pics to come later. Last week I was working on the master suite ceiling in White Oak tung and groove. Made more interesting because the architect specked that the trim would be flush with the tongue and groove.
  15. Have a phenomenal day!
  16. Sorry for your loss.
  17. Have an incredible day!
  18. Have a phenomenal day!
  19. Happy Birthday Ric!
  20. This can be embarrassing, and im guilty of it, but give me 10 minutes and I'm ready to go again.
  21. Have an incredible day!
  22. Drove back down to Lake Havasu City for Christmas. Maki did exceptionally well for her first almost 10 hour car ride. She got bored a few times, but stayed in her car seat. She didn't pee the whole trip, even though I stopped 3 times and gave her the opportunity. Can't complain about her at all!
  23. Yum!
  24. I didn't want to correct you, because I'm doing well to remember to walk out of the house clothed these days, but thought I remembered you having them.
