  1. It's funny, because everyone out here in the Sacramento area is talking about how hot it is. I feel pretty comfy relatively. It's nice not being in 100% humidity.
  2. Well, Delicate Steve and Susie are home. We weren't here two minutes, and Susie and Teddy (Bichon/Poodle mix) were chasing each other around the house and having a great time. They're going to be great friends, and that's a relief! Susie has already eaten from Teddy's food dish, and Teddy had no issue with that whatsoever. Yay!
  3. Agreed, it looks great! Got notice earlier that Susie is in the the air! She'll be in Sacramento at 11:10.
  4. Thanks all!!! Today I did some shopping here in Elk Grove...towels, toiletries, etc... Opened a bank account, and ate the first good bagel I've had in 12 years. Had lunch at the Apple Sacramento campus (it's really in Elk Grove), got Shaun's oil changed and his dog groomed (no, that's not gay code for anything else), unpacked, did a load of laundry (that might be code), and generally had a great day! Tonight Shaun and I will run into Sacramento for some bedding stuffs. Tomorrow will hopefully be the safe arrival of Susie, weather permitting (no transporting animals if over 85 degrees). If the temperature in Dallas cooperates, I should see her before noon. P.S. Your kids are adorable Nate!
  5. Getting ready to leave for the airport, and become a Californian!
  6. ^ When you're right you're right!
  7. Well they'll be perfect for my needs. I'll buy you breakfast at the Hummingbird!
  8. OMG! Those are gorgeous! And I love that the height is adjustable. Are you sure you don't want to hold onto them?
  9. Damn that's cheap! I need to go to Ikea on Thursday anyway (bed frame, nightstands, bedding), so that's a great option. Thanks for the tip!
  10. That was my first thought, but it just didn't quite fit. There were several other pics, and I had no trouble naming them, but this one was a tough one. Ding ding ding! We have a winner! I think that's it.
  11. I need some reasonably priced speaker stands. I've taken my Daber Audio Monitor 3's out of storage, and I've shipped them to my new home in the Sacramento area, but I'll want some 18" to 22" stands to get them at a good height. I've combed the web, but thought you guys might have some recommendations that I may have overlooked.
  12. ^ Me too. Happy belated Birthday Mike!!!
  13. I would tend to agree. Hah, I've seen a similar video before. The only way I'd ride more than one is if my fantasy of twins comes true.
  14. Happy Belated Birthday Birgir!
  15. Cool, thanks Tyll, on my way to check it out.
  16. ^ !!!!
  17. You seem familiar.
  18. Belated Happy Birthday Greg!
  19. I think pecan shell media blasting would work well on Aluminum, maybe copper slag as well. Polishing that lower area will look awesome!

Did I mention I'm in the market for a scooter?
  21. "I'm gonna get medieval on your ass!"
  22. Congrats! May you have a long and very happy marriage!
  23. At least he doesn't have Shirley McClain droning on in the Past Lives Pavilion.
  24. I think that once you sand out the milling pattern, you could probably use some 320 grit sandpaper to achieve the frosted look you want. use a block of wood or a sanding block, and keep the block moving in one direction (you can use that bump out at the bottom as a guide for the sanding block). I think that the clear anodizing is a good idea to harden the finish.
  25. Yeah, a full face helmet is the only way to go. And you're probably right on the riding suit and gloves too.
