Well at least there are so many fun things to do in McAllen... Be a dope mule and cross the border into Nuevo Progresso, have some really shitty TexMex food, visit the Paris Bubblegum Factory. If you have time to kill, South Padre Island is a nice beach. My oldest Brother was born in McAllen, and my Mom was born and raised in nearby Pharr, TX. Still have relatives in the area.

Here's a better shot of the Walnut cookie table top that we delivered toady. Part of the top was in the sun this morning, and you can see the beautiful, crazy grain patterns.

I was 9. I do remember it, though I didn't fully understand it at the time. -
I skew that chart considerably. Country and Classic Rock are two of my favorite genres. And I'm a very liberal Democrat.

^ This is an internet forum. People aren't actually here in the flesh.

It's a travesty that these guys aren't in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame! They sold a phenomenal amount of records.

All bookcases completed. And the other project I alluded to... This Walnut cookie was cut from a tree on Al's Brother's property, where now stands his new house. This table will now sit on the covered veranda, not far from where the tree originally stood. Al found the base from a seller we've used before for table legs. Hard to see from my poor photography skills, but there's lots of burl in this piece.

Found this interesting.

All assembled, waiting for finish. Finishing is waiting for another project to get finish applied first. More to come on that.

I think it's a fake. It's probably Charlie Sheen's piss. After all it's not that big a leap from tiger blood to panther piss. -

Al and I are making 3 bookcases for his Sister from White Oak. They're mid century modern, with a separate base. The base will be 2" stretchers with 6" tapered legs. Here are the legs after tapering with the tapering jig. The cases are roughly 5' long by 28" tall, before the leg assembly goes on. They have one horizontal divider and one vertical divider. They are done except for finish sanding and a Rubio mono-coat finish. We still need to assemble the bases.

So, I just learned of the Pure Audio Project Heil AMT open baffle speaker. https://pureaudioproject.com/shop/ The Trio 10 with Heil AMT. A true dipole/open baffle design.

Al and I are building some bookcases for his Sister, from White Oak. Our glue up panels are just two 1" x 6" boards, so pretty simple. However, even using dominoes, there are always little fluctuations that need sanded flush. But working in Al's shop is always nicer than the equipment I've had currently or in the past. This is a twin barrel drum sander. 80 Grit on the first drum, 120 on the second. This is automation at it's finest.
