I can't wait to not buy it.

Funny, I just had Grillos with my sandwich.

As most things Kreg, they're well thought out.

I think my favorite album of Mrs. Wells was Lonely Street.

Damn, I was busy today and forgot to look. Glad you caught this Nate. Happy Birthday to one of my favorite HCers! Hope you had a great day Todd!

The Record Doctor V seems quite reasonable at $199.00.

This is what I use, and I'm quite happy with it... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07MP88FX6/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awdb_imm_t1_beyZFbVTQ46X1 It's also manual, but not at all hard to use. It gets even really dirty records clean.

There's nothing more fun than a new piece of gear. Or an old one that came home to roost. I've completely lost track of the day, and have enjoyed every minute of it. All the new albums sound great after cleaning, not to mention the 6 albums my landlord didn't want and gifted me. One being America's greatest hits. Who doesn't like America?

And you can build to the size/design that you want.

Very clever. Slick!

It's really nice having the Colossus back home. It's like one of my children. I loved the time I spent designing and building her, and my collaboration with Marc. I definitely couldn't have completed the project without him. And again, a big shout out to Naaman for reuniting me with Colossus!

If you're interested in seeing the turntable on the stand, see the analog thread.

It's finished! Colossus is back in action, and better than ever. I certainly spent more time tweaking this time around. I think it paid off. I have the Hudson HI-FI Bigfeet between the stand base and top, then new isolation feet on the Colossus and I added more shot inside the plinth. It's sounding really full with great bass. Lots more listening to do!

Nice job Marc! I'm now done with my latest project. Building two turntable stands back to back, I learned a few things. One, was that I'd like a second shelf above the record storage shelf, accomplished. Two, is that I'd like some kind of stop to keep the records from pushing in too far on the shelf, accomplished. I used Amber shellac on the base to try to get that golden tone of the Burled Maple top of the Colossus. Worked well, and it also provides a complimentary warm tone next to the Cherry of the Parasound tower and speakers. I also like the dark top with the Colossus.

I agree with Nate. Or if you do buy a table saw, the Dewalt job site saw is more than adequate. https://www.dewalt.com/products/power-tools/saws/table-saws/10-jobsite-table-saw--32--12-825cm-rip-capacity-and-a-rolling-stand/dwe7491rs This is the same saw Al has, that we use in the Milo & Otis shop.

Looking good Jeff. Generally less teeth to rip with the grain, more teeth to cross cut against the grain.

Anywho, welcome back to the world of spinny, plastic discs!

I think having a overhang screw would only simplify cartridge alignment. I've just not encountered that before. Obviously that will only work with a Rega arm and Rega cartridge, but a solid idea IMO. What I do have a vast experience with is the rigidity idea. The more rigid the better performance!

Is body surfing at all similar to regular surfing? I know that the bigger the board, the easier to surf, so just wondering if that translates, 'cause I could be epic! Oh, and we could absolutely use some Super Brent Osborn videos about now!!!

I used to love to plane it when kids were around. The planer chips would be a dull Brown, then 15 minutes later they were a bright Purple. The kids thought I was some sort of magician. I'd use a little discretion in how you word that request! " Hey lady, I need you to grab my hose and twist it."

What's up with the third headshell screw? Is that some type of auto overhang setting in Rega cartridges?
-
Did it come with a cartridge?
