    What they be?
  2. Anywho, welcome back to the world of spinny, plastic discs!
  3. I think having a overhang screw would only simplify cartridge alignment. I've just not encountered that before. Obviously that will only work with a Rega arm and Rega cartridge, but a solid idea IMO. What I do have a vast experience with is the rigidity idea. The more rigid the better performance!
  4. Is body surfing at all similar to regular surfing? I know that the bigger the board, the easier to surf, so just wondering if that translates, 'cause I could be epic! Oh, and we could absolutely use some Super Brent Osborn videos about now!!!
  5. I used to love to plane it when kids were around. The planer chips would be a dull Brown, then 15 minutes later they were a bright Purple. The kids thought I was some sort of magician. I'd use a little discretion in how you word that request! " Hey lady, I need you to grab my hose and twist it."
  6. What's up with the third headshell screw? Is that some type of auto overhang setting in Rega cartridges?
  7. Did it come with a cartridge?
  8. Got the motor pod riser built today. Just need to get it clear coated. Everything else is done. Put some new shoes on the Colossus.
  9. My bad. I guess that's the normal going rate. I was comparing it to the Clear Audio Sister unit, which is a fair amount more. I would be inclined to research the Schiit table. They have a good reputation, and it seems to be a lot of table for the $.
  10. Not sure about that specific model, but in general the Clear Audio tables punch below their price point IMO. That being said, the sale price on the Marantz at B&H photo is damn good. https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1526439-REG/marantz_tt15s1_belt_drive_turntable.html/?ap=y&gclid=Cj0KCQiA2af-BRDzARIsAIVQUOcAwXpT6XbRpTcpYyFuqK3WXihLjj4oo6u5o8-5vb0ffZnyZsq4U3MaAm9SEALw_wcB&lsft=BI%3A514&smp=y
  11. For the Schiit fanboys, there's the Sol Cast that looks interesting. I have not heard it, but the price point is nice.
  12. The best table I've personally heard to date was a Nakamichi Dragon, but they're rarified and obscenely expensive. I like my Musical Fidelity Roundtable quite a lot, but I'm going to agree that a Rega P3 is a great way to get into vinyl. Let the tweakery begin.
  13. Absolutely! What's your address again? Marc, that looks awesome! I think it's definitely something I would make use of.
  14. Yesterday I made my favorite dish from childhood, and it's always better the next day. So dinner tonight is pinto beans and cornbread! Northern born, but Southern bred.
  15. In a very Blonde moment, I was trying to figure out where and how this joystick would mount to your Bianchi, and what it might control. The fantasies are endless.
  16. Sorry Fitz. That must've been a deflating experience.
  17. Nice looking sled Naaman!
  18. I really liked the Woodpecker Drill Press Pro. It just made repetitive work a breeze. Seems quite solidly built, well thought out and the integrated dust collection is a no brainer.
  19. The dust collection works really well. DP Pro? Sounds like a very limber gay porn star. Oh, you were referring to the drill press table/fence. Sorry, I guess I had other things on my mind this morning.
  20. The riser for the motor pod will be free standing, separate from the TT stand. I need to raise the motor pod 3 3/4". I'll put small rubber feet on the bottom to keep it from shifting easily. I'm thinking of making it from Walnut to match the turntable, since I already have some on hand. That drill press fence system is phenomenal! Milo and Otis are available for consulting jobs. 🙂
  21. No Parasound gear. Just the Colossus, motor pod, Pass Pearl phono stage and the speed controller. Maybe some record paraphernalia, like anti static brush, stylus brush, record cleaning brush and fluid. Then albums on the bottom shelf. The dowels are also stretchers, to keep the stand from racking front to back, where the 1 x 4 Maple stretchers keep if from racking side to side. It's overkill of course, but the turntable weighs about 75 lbs.
  22. Fingers crossed for the best outcome!
  23. These are new to me, as they needed to be a litter bigger, as to not look lost under the 3" x 3" corner posts. I found them on Amazon. You can see them in the second pic, althought they're on top, because the base is inverted.
  24. Construction is done, stretchers installed. The bottom stretcher strengthens the bottom shelf, strengthens the side structures from racking and stops the albums from being placed too far in the shelf. The top stretcher just helps with racking. Bottom of the butcher block top has recesses milled for the isolation feet. The isolation feet are the only connection between the base and the top. Top of the butcher block is stained, and the base has the first coat of Amber shellac. And leveling feet installed. The last picture of the base is right side up. Last thing to build is a riser for my motor pod. 3 3/4" tall.
