  1. In the winter in Alaska, the roads get cold and stay cold. Pretty easy to control your vehicle on a road that is always cold, because Ice forms when you have temperature fluctuations. In Texas, overpasses can be extremely dangerous, the road gets cold, but you have warmer air blowing under the overpass, creating ice. I've driven on roads covered in ice in Alaska, but the road is cold enough that the ice is actually sticky. Somewhat like touching your tongue to a metal light post in freezing temperatures.
  2. That made National News? That second semi ripped through a pile of cars with some serious force. Those folks had no chance. I've been more afraid of the winter roads there, than in Alaska. R.I.P.
  3. All of my noodles seem to be al dente these days. Hey, I'm almost 60. 😒
  4. Ooh, that sounds really good! Ordered. Seemed like a fitting place of origin as well.
  5. One of my favorite pasta dishes. Pene with broccoli in a light olive oil/chicken bullion sauce. This time I added a little garlic, bacon and parmesan cheese.
  6. RIP Chick
  7. Is that the new hip hop group I've been hearing about?
  8. Two small pigglets.
  9. ^ No Sir, it would not. It doesn't have a power cord!
  10. You're just not giving yourself enough credit. Trust me, for someone just learning, you're doing awesome work. It's not a hobby learned in a month.
  11. I'll refrain from any further advice.
  12. A table saw is the center of every good woodshop.
  13. I could sell a ton of those, if you could modify them to hold two dildos and a wig.
  14. Dream Academy has to fall into my top ten favorite bands list.
  15. Won't actually be spinning it until Monday, but picked this up on Amazon. This album and Nick Hayward really influanced my direction for years to come. I still love those British groups with those smooth, crooner voices. Spandau Ballet, ABC, Style Council, etc... Something about those industrial cities that birthed such amazing talent.
  16. Welcome to the club Antonio.
  17. Do something different and go out and buy yourself something! Oh wait...
  18. Don't try to dissuade him. My master plan is for him to build the mega shop, then find a way for him to want to adopt a 60 y.o. man. I haven't worked out all the bugs, but I think it still has better odds than me winning the lottery.
  19. Jeff, I think you'd be well served to pick up a jobsite table saw. https://www.toolnut.com/sawstop-jss-120a60-jobsite-pro-table-saw-with-cart-fence.html?gclid=Cj0KCQiAmfmABhCHARIsACwPRABqolUNDMc0HoBLymRZAWMU6BUumCgZwQis_RXQxp2RB5Vm-7ee55IaAqYvEALw_wcB For the type of projects you're building it's really not a tool to do without. How are you liking it Doug?
  20. That was indeed my reaction to Super Ping Ponging!
  21. Uhm... Wow! I thought the same at first, but think he's talking about a miter along the length of a 1/2" thick piece?
  22. I think it's the wrong tool for the job. A tablesaw with a miter jig is preferable IMO. Just figured out that you're talking about a miter along the length or a chamfer. I would still use a tablesaw, but use a digital guage to set the blade at exactly 45 degrees.
  23. Simple, but always delicious, potatoes, onions and sausage.
  24. You are officially demoted to jamesmjack. P.S. It takes a lot to turn on my oscilloscope!
  25. Because there's no electrical cord attached.
