It's Opera. Or Opry at any rate.

This is an album I had no knowledge of. It's George Jones duets. George Jones with Dr. Hook is uhm, interesting.
-
Yep. I have parts that have been just sitting in Tracy, CA for 3 days.

I can't wait to hear that sexy beast! But I have to admit that I'm having tonearm envy, because yours is so much longer than mine. I have concrete slab floors as well. That plus this beefy damn stand, and there's no movement whatsoever.

I was only kidding, because of the bareass comment.

So, now with the new resistors installed and the Denon AU-300LC SUT in line, I'm getting my first real listen to the system as a whole. I can definitely hear the improvements that the Pearl brings right away, but I still sing praises to the Parasound Zphono USB. It's a really good phono stage for the money. The Pearl is just a bit better at everything though.

So until 20 minutes ago I had been listening to the Colossus through the Parasound Zphono USB, because the Pass Pearl had the wrong resistors installed, and I had to turn it to near full volume to get much sound at all. And it had a ringing at that level. Marc and I mulled that over, trying to remember why it would have been set that way. We ended up deciding to change the resistors for 12K and adding an SUT, which the DL-103 really likes.

Same as every gay bar I've ever entered.

Personally I think this is very easily accomplished on a table saw. I would think that it could be cut and ready for sanding in less than an hour. But then again I have no experience with computer controlled milling.

RIP Dr. Katzin.

Can you really call it an intro if it takes up an entire side of an album? I've not heard this extended mix, but I've been a huge fan of Soft Cell since the early 80's. My Father hated it when I'd play 'Sex Dwarf' at a high volume. I had a dance completely coriographed to 'Tainted Love'. Hmmm, I just realized that maybe I wasn't as straight appearing as I thought I was.

If I'm not mistaken Nate, that's a cross section pic of what's probably about a 3" threshold. What looks like a J, is a step down, due to different floor hights. I could be wrong, but that's how I read it. I'm guessing it's less than 48" wide.

Yeah, but to be fair I've been trying to stop my penis from poking through my pants for quite some time. It's not a quick fix. And as for drivers showing their butts... Is there a way to view this game, without actually playing it?
-
That's quite simple. A few measurements are all that's needed. And I'd recommend a very hard wood.
-
Is it overly complicated? In other words, could some measurements and a simple drawing convey the design parameters? I've built some complex, and very nice thresholds with just that.
-
Ah, the kitty just wants a meal and a warm bed.
-
I'm assuming he meant a table saw. I've built hundreds of thresholds, but I can't open your file, so not sure if it's a complicated build or not.

One thing I've done in the past to replicate a textured finish, is to paint the shelf Black, then with a pin or exacto knife, open up the spray hole. Test first, but it should give you a nice splatter texture as the finale coat. Even better if the sheen is a little different. That's best with spray epoxy.
-
Do not use a water or latex based paint on MDF, at least not before sealing the MDF. Spray paint is going to give you the best finish. But you can use an enamel paint with a brush. Just use 500 grit sand paper in between coats.

Interesting.
