Happy Birthday Colin!
-
Thanks everyone! 60 came in with a vengeance today. Unfortunately not in a fun way. As Al posted elsewhere, it turns out that I got Vertigo for my 60th Birthday! Today was the roughest of the last few days, but I'm very happy to have a diagnosis. I have meds and an appointment for lab work to follow up, so feeling good about that. All of that said, the best thing you can ever hope to get on your Birthday is the best friends a guy could ever hope for! Once again Al has completely taken care of me in a scary medical situation. I really did win the friendship lottery when I met all of you! I can't state enough how much of a blessing you all are to have in my life! My Mother is constantly amazed at what you folks have done for me, and how loving and caring you have been. She has met some of you in person, Marc, Shelly and Al, and has commented to me how lucky I am. She seems to think that something in me draws friends like you fine folks, but I know that I just got very lucky finding so many true friends in one place! So even with the latest circumstances, it really has been a fantastic Birthday!

Completely agree. I wish it had been Skullcandy or even Beyerdynamic.

Brands come and go. I've been around long enough to see the demise and reprise of vinyl. Audiophile headphones are a relatively new market through my eyes. And IMO they've oversaturated the market with too many brands. Someone had to fall victim.

If I have my little router table set up outside, I don't bother with a fence. If I'm inside, I like the dust collection the fence provides. But as Nate stated, I back it off about 1/16th".

Wasn't aware of them. Thanks. I'd imagine you could double them up if necessary. Maybe even cut the second one down a bit?

For a sled of that size, it's thick enough.

I'm a big sap. I like all of those songs. In fact I have all of them, except the Joe Cocker. But Billy Paul's "Me and Mrs. Jones" should really be on that list.

Not to mention the sustainability of this product. I could only imagine what kind of cool, carved outdoor furniture Naaman could make on his Ping Pong table.

Good idea!

That bike needs a moose horn. Oh, wait...

Are honky brakes the ones with the white pads?

In a similar fashion, wet roads in Alaska are not slippery. It was a real shock to me the first time I drove in the rain in Texas, while in college. In Alaska the roads never get warm enough to sweat that oily film that rises to the top in warmer states. Not to mention that it doesn't really rain in Alaska. It just sprinkles. Driving on a rainy day in Anchorage is no different than driving on a dry day, as far as traction is concerned.

In the winter in Alaska, the roads get cold and stay cold. Pretty easy to control your vehicle on a road that is always cold, because Ice forms when you have temperature fluctuations. In Texas, overpasses can be extremely dangerous, the road gets cold, but you have warmer air blowing under the overpass, creating ice. I've driven on roads covered in ice in Alaska, but the road is cold enough that the ice is actually sticky. Somewhat like touching your tongue to a metal light post in freezing temperatures.

That made National News? That second semi ripped through a pile of cars with some serious force. Those folks had no chance. I've been more afraid of the winter roads there, than in Alaska. R.I.P.

All of my noodles seem to be al dente these days. Hey, I'm almost 60. 😒

One of my favorite pasta dishes. Pene with broccoli in a light olive oil/chicken bullion sauce. This time I added a little garlic, bacon and parmesan cheese.

Is that the new hip hop group I've been hearing about?

Two small pigglets.

^ No Sir, it would not. It doesn't have a power cord!
