  1. I had wondered if it was the same company as well.
  2. Just got driven into the city. Sitting at UCSF waiting for cataract surgery. I only have a cataract in my right eye, but it's gotten bad. I can't see anything but a blury light out of that eye. I was scheduled for surgery last April, but Covid changed all that. It's going to be absolutely amazing to be able to see out of that eye again, and have my depth perception back.
  3. I have to say that even though some of their ideas were overlooked due to other formats, that doesn't mean that they were inferior. I had a Sony ES HiFi betamax deck in the 80's. It cost me an astronomical $1,100.00 at the time. But with it's ability to record and play in beta 1 speed and it's jog/shuttle dial, that machine kicked some serious VHS ass! I had a JVC HiFi VHS deck too. I'd rent movies in VHS, because there weren't any betamax movies to be found. But I'd record those movies onto the betamax. I'd also record music onto betamax tapes, then use it like a real to real to play hours of music at parties. That kept people from screwing with my audio system.
  4. Sony has a habit of shooting themselves in the foot. Lucky for them they have enough cash to weather those storms.
  5. Every time I hear "Delta Variant" I think of a bunch of Mississippi rednecks spreading the virus by having incestuous sex. Is that bolstering stereotypes?
  6. This is a new series premiering Sunday on AMC. It's staring Anne Frances Murphy, who played Alexis on Schitt's Creek. Looks to be a Black comedy. Certainly looks to be worth a try.
  7. Interesting. I was an early adoptor of the format. I could carry 5 or so discs with me and have 10 times the volume that my friend had on his Rio mp3 player. I also liked the "mix tape" capabilities. I had a nice Sony portable MD deck as well as a top end Sony ES home deck.
  8. Seems like a good price. If I do portable these days, it's a very basic iPod/IEMs setup.
  9. Unless you're doing some really extreme trail riding, open face is more than adequate. It'll also allow a bit better visibility.
  10. How many other questions will that same answer fit?
  11. I think he meant the other type of ping pong table. Looking good!
  12. Cheese omelet, bacon, hashbrowns and bagel.
  13. But, it may be a great one to be his last post.
  14. Yup. I've used Al's Festool mesh sanding discs and liked them. Even Freud has gotten into the game, and is making Diablo net discs in fine and coarse grits.
  15. Mirka is far from the only maker of mesh sandpaper. I've been using it for over a decade. All the open areas between the weave is what allows it to stay more free of buildup than standard paper. Couple that with an attached vacuum, like that of the Festool, and that's even more efficient. Lifespan of the mesh is far greater than paper. Plus, I like that I don't have to bother with lining up the holes, like in the paper discs.

RIP Tab Hunter! You were gifted a wonderful family, as well as a kick ass name!
  17. Sorry for your loss Todd.
  18. No more than the thickness of the blade.
  19. Flippin' awesome! That is such a game changer to be able to resaw to that thickness!
  20. Yeah, I think he's one that you either really like, or really don't. I've never been captivated by his stuff, but I can certainly understand why others would be. It's more to do with genre for me. I like really boring shit. I don't have any comments about his personal life, because before your post I hadn't heard anything about it.
  21. Oh.... Now you tell me!
  22. My Step Father bought a new Ram truck in 2008. Within 6 months it was leaking oil on the driveway. Left a bad taste in my mouth.
  23. I tried, but I'm just not a sci-fi/fantasy kind of guy.
  24. It had some twists and turns, and they even made sense in the end.
  25. I understand "mood" very well. And I'm hoping you get out of yours soon.
