Uhm, I'm Otis?

If I built a Grandfather clock in a Tik Tok video, would that be irony?

I'm just mad about siphon. Siphon's mad about me...

The drawers slide in and out easily now, even though I kept the tolerances tight. But as Doug pointed out, I have 1/64" thick glide tape coming. It's made out of the same thing as a butchers cutting board. That slick, White plastic.

Thanks. Fitz isn't looking at this thread, because he wants it to be a surprise when it arrives. I hope he likes it, as he just gave me the dimensions he wanted, and gave me free reign after that.

Maya Rudolph's Mother had one of the widest octave ranges. I remember riding in the car with my Mom, trying to hit that note. I couldn't of course, but back then I could give it a pretty good try. BTW, that's her Father, Richard Rudolph playing acoustic guitar in the video.

I've told this story before, but in 1993 I was working for DHL and one day I had a delivery for Todd Rundgren. A young (as yet unknown) 16ish y.o., beautiful girl answered the door. When I told her that I had an envelope for Todd, she said that she was his daughter and would give it to him. She was very pleasant and I told her how much I loved her Father's music. We chatted for a minute or two, then I carried on with my route. A year or two later, when I was back in Anchorage, I was watching music videos on TV. An Aerosmith video came on, with Alicia Silverstone and the young girl I'd had the conversation with. Shortly after that I found out that this beautiful girl wasn't Liv Rundgren, but actually Liv Tyler.

Construction complete on the incense box. First coat of boiled linseed oil applied. The shop assistant approves.

I liked that show. Robin Tunney and Simon Baker's characters had a fun dynamic. I remember being surprised when I heard Simon Baker on a talk show. I had no idea he was from Oz.

Catch and Kill: The Podcast Tapes. Ronan Farrow does a great job of getting to the heart of the Harvey Weinstein case.

When using a carriage bolt, I've often just let the pressure of tightening the nut pull the squared part of the shank into the material. It should work even better in a plastic material.

Three sides of all four drawers are cut, assembled and bottoms slid into place. The drawers will be left natural, with a clear lacquer finish. Except the drawer fronts, which will be stained to match the box. The box sits atop the drawers for weight, to ensure that they dry flat. Tomorrow I'll cut the fronts to fit and stain them. Not sure what finish I'm going to use on the box, but I think it'll probably be boiled linseed oil, with a top coat of Tried-N-True.

Got the drawer dividers cut, glued and clamped up. I cut the drawer material to height, but a tad bit long and wide. I want to wait until the box cures, then I can un-clamp and measure to fit nice and snug. I have some drawer glide tape coming. This will attach to the bottom of the drawer sides and allow the drawers to slide with minimal friction. The box is too small for mechanical drawer glides.

To be honest, I don't remember what Quake tasted like. I did like Quisp.

He might be compensating for something.

Got the second coat on today. Just right.
