  1. Needs electronic Red 22 and a power meter, but definitely a good start. When do you start racing Cat 5? **BRENT**

  5. Well, next year, Vicki, just ride with him at the beginning of week two. He should be doing 60 miles at 16 MPH, which should be a good easy, comfortable ride for you. Also, don't you have that BT travel speaker? I'm sure something can be rigged up to pimp your ride(s). **BRENT**
  6. I say we should Plasti-Dip it rainbow colored. **BRENT**
  7. No lube on the chain, of course. Get rid of the squeak, less friction, smoother pedal strokes, more efficient, and it'll be better. That's all. **BRENT**
  8. Just get that new Brooks, Vicki... 12 mph... I'm even faster than that (by a hair). Buy him some lube, show him how to put it on, and then take him for another ride. It'll be better next time. **BRENT**
  9. Sounds like fun, Jeff! Need to get you some electronic stuff and do some sequential shifting. I'm sure someone has figured out soomthing like a CVT for bikes now. Nate, you're crazy. 50 non-stop before I got out of bed. I was elated to do 9 miles on the road without stopping a couple months back. **BRENT**
  10. 93 with a heat index of 124 according to Weather Underground... And I went for a bike ride so I wouldn't break a promise to Xavier. Worth it in the end, but the beginning blew. **BRENT**
  11. I took Xavier on his first trail ride today. 2 hours total, 4 miles, lots of mud, but the driest it has been in a month. A couple tricky sections, but he handled himself like a champ, and only one big wipeout for him. We walked a bit of the really rooty sections, and the 29er wheels roll a good bit better than the 20" ones. So proud today! **BRENT**
  12. Dusty, the spacers will be good for added airflow between the cooler and the bottom of the laptop. **BRENT**
  13. I bet if you had a Kirk with DA9700 and Lightweight wheels, you'd be able to keep up. **BRENT**
  14. New Magic Lantern Improvement Adds 3 Stops of Dynamic Range to 5DIII and 7D Some interesting stuff for a couple of cameras that have "Dual ISO" processors, I believe. I have a buddy who is geeking out about it and thinking about putting ML on his 5D3. You shoot half the lines in ISO100, half in ISO1600 (at the same time), and it makes a composite which can be nice. Each of these cams can do it with stills, but the 5D3 can do it with video as well. Lots of links to technical stuff in the link above. **BRENT**
  15. http://gizoogle.net/ For example: http://gizoogle.net/index.php?search=head-case.org&se=Gizoogle+Dis+Shiznit Or perhaps gizoogle a NYTimes article. You may be amused. **BRENT**
  16. WinX HD Video Converter Deluxe for PC or MAC for free http://dealmac.com/Win-X-HD-Video-Converter-Deluxe-for-PC-or-Mac-downloads-for-free/791823.html I've used the MacX DVD ripper for Windows since they gave it away last year and it worked well for me, so figure this is decent as well. Looks like it lets you grab YouTube videos as well, which could come in handy at some point. **BRENT**
  17. For you jetsetters out there, from David Pogue: Here's a free 3-month coupon code for Clear (normally $180 a year), the program that lets you breeze through security at certain airports (SFO, Denver, White Plains, Orlando, Dallas so far). At clearme.com, use code CLRJUL413. I'm sure some of you will be hitting at least SFO and Dallas, maybe Denver in the next few months. **BRENT**
  18. http://www.snopes.com/politics/quotes/milesdavis.asp I still don't care. **BRENT**
  19. I don't know if this is true or not, but I don't care. Love it. **BRENT**
  20. I remember putting ice in the garbage disposal when we had one growing up to kind of "clean it out." I would imagine small chunks/slivers of ice would be able to scrape off some of the remaining residue (perhaps along with some dish soap), then wash normally. Or maybe it wouldn't, but I'm interested to know what would work, for some reason. **BRENT**
  21. I thing Gene has the Scott Sub 10, but it's just another company's version of the same style bike. Like I said elsewhere, he'll be on a CAAD10 105/Rival/Ultegra bike soon enough **BRENT**
  22. Yeah. I blame Canada. Hoping this one doesn't get to the point where the other one was before I get to the ENT, but I'm expecting a trip to the care center at work before week's end if the progression is similar. **BRENT**
