  1. http://www.cyclingweekly.co.uk/news/latest-news/garmin-vivoactive-hr-212727 OK, I'm not sure I'm sold on the looks of it, relative to the Vivoactive that I have, but all it's missing is a HR monitor to be a fantastic tracker for me. I'll have to remember to win one of these later this year so I can test it, but seeing as how my Vivoactive is on my arm, and my Charge HR is on the Charger, I'd be happy to have this as an only device, I do believe. **BRENT**
  2. OK, the above is a cluster fuck from me. Can someone please edit it to show possibly a pic and one bit about the pedals for sale? **BRENT**
  3. An LBS here has some Garmin Vector 2 pedals, lightly used demos, for 450$, if anyone is interested. **BRENT**
  4. Dammit! I've been riding on my trainer wrong this entire time! Grrrr... **BRENT**
  5. I hear you can do a bit with a Forester XT if you lower it, get wheels, exhaust, replace the steering rack with the WRX or STI one, etc. I saw some pictures of a white one once that was pretty sweet, but I think the owner forgot he had it and it's just sitting in a garage somewhere. **BRENT**
  6. Re: Europe, the RS is just very recently available in the stares, so it's not too big of an issue to think of it like that. Zach, your wife is a solid foot shorter than Chris, so... http://m.ebay.com/itm/131732598924?_mwBanner=1 **BRENT**
  7. Same. I usually like Kendrick more as a feature on someone else's stuff, where he kills it, but never loved his entire bodies of work. Giving this a chance off your other post. **BRENT**
  8. Come to Chatt. Xavier will pull us up the rolling hills. **BRENT**
  9. Welcome back, V! Now tell Colin to get off his lazy @$$ and buy that Lynskey so you'll have a riding buddy (who is just a 6 hour flight away.) **BRENT**
  10. They have been around 292$ in the past 6 months
  11. Mmmmmm... Lynskey headquarters. Heh, just realized that I DO ride titanium. **BRENT**
  12. Delete. **BRENT**
  13. I've seen the original 500s go for a little over 100, which is similar to the basic Garmin 20. Just wishing I could have a black one to match the color scheme like the 200 does now. **BRENT**
  14. Hey Guys, Xavier is wanting a bike computer. He has a mountain bike and a road bike now. I have a Garmin 200, and he loves the GPS and he has no idea what we used to deal with with cables and magnets and the like. I'm thinking of giving him my 200 and picking up something else. Do any of you have something like a Garmin 500/510/800 around that they may be interested in offloading? I may can get away with something else for him, but thought I'd check first. Thx. **BRENT**
  15. I'm always back of the pack, largely because fitbit doesn't pick up my indoor workouts. Took it outside yesterday and had some fun in the rain with Xavier. Now? Who knows. I am going to Universal Studios Friday/Saturday, so I expect things may get interesting. **BRENT**
  16. Heh. I was in first place yesterday, but I'm pretty sure I'm smoked by now. I love the Fitbit ecosystem, but the build is lacking. I own two Flexes (each kid now has one, somewhere), and the old Charge HR (given away and used daily, albeit with a little duct tape) and the current one. If I got a week of battery, it would be fantastic. At 3 days (the old one got 5,) it's tough to give a full endorsement to as an only device. One nice thing about the Garmin is that it has media controls I can have the phone on the charger and do basic play/pause/skip in Tidal. If you're out walking/running with your phone hooked up to headphones in an arm band, the watch controls are fantastic. **BRENT**
  17. I like the design of the Charge HR much more than the Charge, but I've had an HR delaminate, and the battery life just kills it for me as an only tracker. There is a newer watch-style Fitbit that I would be inclined to try called the Fitbit Blaze. On paper, at least, it would do what is desired, but I haven't seen one or heard of anyone getting one yet. This is HC, though, so I imagine 6 people will have them by end of business Thursday. **BRENT**
  18. Garmin Vivosmart HR seems like a better Charge HR feature wise, but with more bulk. The Garmin Vivoactive I have is barely more $$$, is insanely thin/light, and fairly narrow (I think it's 38mm, which is much smaller than I like in a watch, but fitting in this.) Only a 40$ difference, but the Vivoactive doesn't do HR. I'm wondering if a newer model will come out. I'd also possibly consider one of the Garmin watches, but I'd talk to Nate about that, as he has some experience lately, IIRC. **BRENT**
  19. I'm enjoying my Garmin Vivoactive. The screen isn't great, but the battery life is EASILY getting the 3 weeks it mentioned. I wear a Charge HR on the other wrist, and it gets maybe 3 days if I'm lucky (this was a new warranty replacement after the first lasted about 4-5 months.) I agree, love that they replaced it, hate that it needed it. The Garmin doesn't do HR, though, and I don't love the app relative to the Fitbit app, but that's just for what I want to do. This does have different options for tracking workouts such as indoor treadmill, indoor cycling, etc. It will hook up to other sensors (HR, various cycling ones), but not doing HR natively is a bit of a bummer, as it's something I really enjoy tracking. Are you open to more watch style, or sticking to bands? **BRENT**
  20. So we spent too much time trying to get Xavier's bike set up this weekend, plus rain and busy-ness kept us from riding. Well, he was really wanting to ride so we loaded up and went out to play in the rain. It was a blast! We wound up on a busy road to start but we went exploring and found a large parking lot that was mostly empty. He seems to have the shifting in the rear down now, and he LOVES riding in the drops, after I told him it was an option. While we were drenched and a little cold, we had a fantastic time. It was also the first time my bike had been off the trainer all year. It is bloody amazing the difference I feel riding after having most over 30 pounds. I'm really excited to get out a lot more this year. **BRENT**
  21. Happy 65th, Danny B! **BRENT**
  22. Still have some adjusting to do on the shifters, but yeah, I think he's pretty happy. We also got our Tour de Cure jerseys in today, so he is SUPER excited. Our first real ride is tomorrrow, and really looking forward to it. **BRENT**
  23. What's the best day of the year? New bike day! Some assembly required. Have to go finish the assembly when the LBS opens tomorrow, but the excitement level was the highest I have seen in years! We'll be taking a ride tomorrow, when it warms up a little. This is going to be an awesome year of riding. **BRENT**
  24. Heh. I drive over this bridge 2x daily. I live just under a mile and a half from there. **BRENT**
  25. I liked, but then I forgot how bad HD800s are, so I unliked. They should be decent for SWBF though. **BRENT**
