  1. I would like to invite everyone to CanLanta 2016! Saturday May 21st at the place we've had the past couple big Atlanta meets, which has been a nice venue. I'll copy from the post on HF, but Tyll is coming back to Atlanta for the first time in a long time, and we're excited to have him back. I hear through the grapevine that there are some premiere d-_-b approved, but not sure it's public knowledge yet, so I'll let that MOT speak up if he's so inclined. John M and the boys in Atlanta have done a lot of work getting this off the ground, and I think it's going to be a nice event. Travel Team, let's make it happen. **BRENT** Canlanta 2016: It’s been about three years now since we had a proper headphone meet in the Atlanta area, so mark your calendars folks because the next event is now official. I will hold off on the list until we have the confirmations. Special Guest Speaker: We are happy to announce that Tyll Hertsens will be giving a series of talks during the meet. Come meet the Grandpapa of headphonedom. Misc: Although there will be plenty of vendors at the meet, we encourage attendees to bring their own gear. Tables and access to power outlets will be provided. Feel free to show up without any gear if you’d just like to join in for a day to check out new gear and talk with other members and vendors about the hobby. The event is free of charge to individuals. Please keep in mind that you always want to treat equipment belonging to others with respect and care as if it were yours and you paid lot's of money for it. If you are unsure about how to use something, always ask. Never relocate any equipment from someone’s table without their express permission. Please post in this thread if you are planning to attend and list the equipment that you’ll be bringing and I’ll compile and list to add to the beginning of the thread. The ballroom will be available for setup purposes early Saturday morning, 7:00 am, for vendors and attendees to setup their gear. Parking: Parking is available at the hotel and is free. Please be sure to always keep expensive equipment secure. Please do not leave expensive equipment locked in your car. Get Social: Please spread the word about this meet and let’s make this a great event for everyone. Check it out on FaceBook: https://www.facebook.com/CanLanta2016/ Food: You’ll be on your own for lunch but there are plenty of places to eat within a few miles of the event. As always, please do not bring food or drink near anyone’s equipment.
  2. Have one on my pro-ject debut carbon. For the cost of 400 chicken nuggets, it's hard to go wrong. **BRENT**
  3. Oh sweet! You had some soup-covered fries! I didn't know that was on the menu now. **BRENT**
  4. Pretty nice combo for a grown-up and someone who learned to drive from a video game. **BRENT**
  5. **BRENT**
  6. I BELIEVE they should have been picked up by someone a few days ago, so you needn't worry. It was a stupidly good deal, and I wanted them, but no way I could justify them. Maybe one day. **BRENT**
  7. Xavier wanted to go for a ride since the weather let up from the downpours this weekend. I remembered we had an extra bit of daylight, so we headed out around 6:30 to do what we could. 6.66 miles and 66 minutes 6 seconds later (It wasn't planned, but it was pretty awesome) we wound up back home and feel SO much better than had we just sat around and watched a movie. I really wish he would have wanted a road bike 2 years ago when he got his mountain bike; we could have had more fun all along, but still, this has been a blast having an enthusiastic riding buddy. According to the Garmin, we got 470 ft of climbing in 6.66 miles. That's like, a year's worth for Raffy, right? **BRENT**
  8. Have to give Chris a chance, at least. **BRENT**
  9. You should get a Focus RS, and 600$ in car seats. **BRENT**
  10. God damn, that was an amazing biscuit this morning; first one since Colin was here. **BRENT**
  11. <3 **BRENT**
  12. They re-released this on vinyl last year. It's like, stupidly expensive, but yeah, it was one of the defining albums of my teenage years. I should just go ahead and buy it to put with all the other unopened vinyl I have. **BRENT** Edit: NP:
  13. I think some Coventry is in order... **BRENT**
  14. The beard is wise. I'm pretty sure it's a perma-ban if you disregard legal counsel, so there's that. **BRENT**
  15. Just get the RS. Just tell the wife that the Mexican will buy an RS and live in it, just to have something you can't. **BRENT**
  16. Looks like Hodinkee opened up a shop, or at least revamped it. I've seen a bit about this on my feed, so thought I'd share. http://shop.hodinkee.com/ **BRENT**
  17. Sweeeeet. Just gonna get your own track tires? Not a bad move. **BRENT**
  18. It's worth it. **BRENT**
  19. It's ridiculous how often I have to say this around here: Quit being poor. **BRENT**
  20. Get a WRX and an ST, that way you can have one for Rallycross and one for Autocross. **BRENT**
  21. G'luck! **BRENT**
  22. Get an STI and an RS. Pretty simple, really. **BRENT**
  23. Me too, Chris. Nate, thanks for that. I have it set on my Edge 200, but i didn't know/hadn't looked at his yet. We've ridden daily since Friday, but were on the mountain bikes yesterday and in a rush today, so i didn't check to look for it. I used my Vivoactive to capture my numbers, but it froze up while saving (I thought we were going to bail after the crash, so I stopped it.) We have about an hour window to ride tomorrow, so hopefully I'll get it taken care of at that point. **BRENT**
  24. Thanks, Nate. On cycling related news, Xavier and I went out for a ride with his new-to-him Garmin Edge 305. (Thanks, Juan! He's really digging it.) We went out to a park that has a 2 mile paved loop, with another path you can go off on as well. We did a couple laps then went over the bridge and did about a mile on a gravel levee. Memo to self: buy larger-than-23mm tires at some point. We wound up back on the loop and some kids were riding the opposite direction. The older one had the younger one get over to his side, but then the younger kid (on a scooter) jumped out in front of Xavier's path. He swerved to miss him but couldn't. A hurt big toe and some scrapes (on him and on the bike both,) but after some time wrenching (it was a hard hit, and both the stem and the seatpost were 30 degrees out of alignment) we did another 4 miles to get 10 total. It shows 8.3mph and 73 minutes riding, but that was only because we didn't stop it when he crashed. The first half we were doing about 10.6mph on average, which isn't bad for a bike path where there was a lot of foot traffic we had to be mindful of. He's still having trouble getting into the big ring from the small, which is frustrating for us both, but he was able to turn on some speed from time to time. Now to get a K-Edge so I can get my Garmin back on the road bike (using the stock mount on the mtn bike now) and I can kinda see how fast I'm going without looking at my watch. I was so proud of Xavier for pushing through another 4 miles after a crash. Oh, and if you were wondering, the other kid was fine; didn't get hurt at all. His parents stopped and offered their help and to make sure he was OK for a good 5+ minutes. I'm SO glad Xavier is into road riding now; it's a blast. **BRENT**
  25. Nothing, at the time. The site kept showing error every time I tried to post. When it eventually did go through, it seems like it took all of them. Killed deal on some power meter pedals from a great shop, though. **BRENT**
