  1. The Haanjo Metro was my 3rd choice. The Haanjo was probably 2nd. I like that bike. I think, though, that for the intended 95% use, the Century is the way to go. Actually, that Century 2 is pretty sexy for 900$ in an "I'm ok screaming to the world I'm on a Diamondback" kinda way. **BRENT**
  2. http://www.canlanta.org/ Check out the website for an updated list of sponsors and vendors. Oh, what's that, ECP Audio will be there? @justin will be there with HeadAmp. @Tyll Hertsens, @tkam, @Fitz. I'm definitely looking forward to this crew getting together. Anyone else freeing their calendars? @naamanf? @shellylh? **BRENT**
  3. CJ can't do a 20" frame, and he can do that one for 300-360 through his deal. I'm about to look and send you some options. I had more written up, but just buy this one. http://www.diamondback.com/bikes-road-bikes-endurance-century-series-century **BRENT**
  4. Xavier has a Diamondback that we got at 45% off. It was definitely worth that $$$. I definitely would NOT recommend that particular bike for you. Let me look around. Hit me up on FB later tonight (after 8?) and I can definitely find you something. BTW, define "trail" in your mind. Is it more "multi-use trail" or "gravel/dirt path" or "'mountain biking' *wink wink nudge nudge* in *chuckles* Florida" Also, don't judge my knowledge of bike stuff by the video mike posted a few years ago of me on a mtn bike. I couldn't even watch it; I knew how bad it was. **BRENT**
  5. I'm currently on the VIttoria Rubino Pro, and it's the only thing I've had experience with in years. I have a buddy offering a set of Mavic Yksion Pro Powerlink/Griplink in 700x25c for 50$ locally, and he brought them to work. LBS has a Vittoria Rubino Pro in a 25c (I'm running 23c now) for 25$ on clearance, but would be mismatched sizes. 84$ for GP4000s online I see, and some Pro4s for 62$. Heh, while I was typing this buddy got in touch. We talked a bit and he said "how about we do 30$ for the tires, bike club discount." That, well, I can't pass up. **BRENT** CJ, what are you wanting the bike for? Actual mountain biking or just getting around? **BRENT**
  6. I've listened to a bit on Audible lately. Here are some in no particular order: Isaac Asimov - Foundation / For such a famous, well-regarded book, I was more bored by this than by the work i do, which is mind-numbingly painful. The ending was OK; I was reminded of how many books are great, and I'm sad to see them end, and the ending is good enough, but you're sad that it's over. This wound up being about as good as many for an ending, but it was starting to crescendo in the last tenth of the book. It was enough to make me want to read to wikis to figure out what happened next, but i still haven't even done that yet, so... Micahael Lewish - Moneyball / Brilliant book; I want to read some more of his stuff. Andy Weir - The Martian / It was great, and hilarious. I'm glad I read it before watching the movie. John Scalzi - Lock In / Enjoyed it Daniel Suarez - Daemon / Like the one above, another 3-4$ daily deal on Audible that looked interesting, and was. I love finding these cheap reads that introduce me to new authors. **BRENT**
  7. Xavier and I went out for a ride. I got my first flat on this bike in the 3 years I've had it, and it just happened to rip the sidewall. Any tire recs you kids have these days? Check out my 12.3 mi Ride on Strava: https://www.strava.com/activities/555933828 **BRENT**
  8. Here's the new Vinyl Me, Please for May. Weezer - Pinkerton I was trying to decide between the 4LP deluxe edition or the MFSL edition, but this makes that decision easier, and I'll keep the subscription another month. **BRENT**
  9. Publicist confirmed Prince according to AP **BRENT**
  10. You're obviously looking in the wrong places. I'd keep an eye out for Rival S, R-S3, maybe some 888s if those are 200s these days. **BRENT**
  11. We don't have Carvel here, so we make do. **BRENT**
  12. Seriously great rec there, HS. Used wheel/tire combos are aplenty. Oh, my buddy actually started a national race car swap meet thing on the facebook; I'll invite you, Chris. **BRENT**
  13. As DQ pointed out to me, the 15$ difference shrinks to 7.70$ when the cheapest shipping is added in. I'm 95% sure they used the exact same picture for both pads as well, so I'm rather curious myself. Where is @screaming oranges to buy a few pairs when you need him? **BRENT**
  14. Do you have the autocross rule book? Seems they've changed a bit since I last cared. I have a Buddy that prepped an ST before, and has multiple national trophies. I'd be happy to get you in touch if you want to go down this rabbit hole. Also, I had plenty of snow in the R-S2s, I just knew how to drive. **BRENT**
  15. What are your summers? I ran Hankook R-S2s year round on an e30. Man up. **BRENT**
  16. Chris, GStock, right? Unless they changed something, you can run R-Comps in stock class. I remember beating up on Civic SIs with my e30 in G Stock. Loved that class. **BRENT**
  17. So Xavier has been interested in clip less pedals after seeing everyone else on them, including a kid a little older and a bit slower than him ride them. A shop guy riding sweeper was telling me that he looked super comfortable on his bike, and recommended I think clipless for him at some point. I have some M530 (SLX level mountain pedals with cage) SPD pedals he can use, so we went by the shop that gave him the free post-crash tuneup (which included truing the wheel) and looked for shoes. We wound up finding a women's road shoe that fit sizing wise, but no MTB shoes in his size. We checked the computer and found some 2014 Rime shoes, originally 180$, on sale for 19$. We went ahead and got his current size and the next size up. He's super excited. **BRENT**
  18. Don't be jealous. Here's the full haul from yesterday. I got the Monster A Go-Go for a friend, and the Bowie MAY be for a friend, but not sure if he's going to snag it yet or not. Clockwise from top left: White Strips - The Complete John Peel Sessions Robert Earl Keen - Gringo Honeymoon (Won this one playing trivia) Skrillex & Diplo - Where Are U Now with Justin Bieber David Bowie - The Man Who Sold The World - Picture Disc Run The Jewels - VRTJ (Virtual Reality The Jewels - VR video viewer) Sublime - Jah Won't Pay The Bills (The only cassette available this year) Various - Monster A Go-Go (Only copy in Chattanooga, picked up for a friend who couldn't make it) Madonna - Like A Virgin & Other Hits (Pink vinyl, as seen above) RSD 2016 Dogfish Head pint glass picked up for DJing the night before Various Artists - Dine Alone: Record Store Day Sampler 2016 Anyone else make it out? **BRENT**
  19. The song is good; deal with it. **BRENT**
  20. http://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2015/08/25/arts/music/justin-bieber-diplo-skrillex-make-a-hit-song.html?_r=0 Interview about the collaboration that I dig. **BRENT**
  21. Some say "guilty pleasure." I just like it. Skrillex & Diplo ft. Justin Bieber - Where Are Ü Now RSD 2016 Exclusive **BRENT**
  22. So there was a bar doing a promotion with Dogfish Head for Record Store Day; they're doing a pre-party, and another place pretty close to me is doing a big party all day tomorrow. The place tonight was doing a "bring your own vinyl" thing. Well, one dude brought stuff, and he brought like, 2-3 albums. I brought maybe 30-40 that I thought may have a song or two, or be interesting to someone. I started pulling out stuff like Dangermouse - The Gray Album and Linkin Park & Jay-Z - Collision Course and the bartenders went a little nuts. I brought out the 20th anniversary of Fugees - The Score and they dug it hard. I pulled out Rocky Horror and I had two people come up and ask me if I'd sell it, then many a fist-bump over some Ghostbusters them song Dub remix. Turns out all the bartenders had seen Flaming Lips live, so they lost it over the autographed "With A Little Help From My Fwends" album. I walked out of there having DJed for 4 hours (1 was just for staff and their friends while they cleaned the place) and having quite a few conversations and got a couple business cards. I ALMOST didn't go out, but pretty glad I did. That was a fun night; it's so rare that I get to share music with others. I've been invited back with control of their house music system. How bad is it that I want to bring in some vintage speakers that I have access to for free and revamping the soundsystem to sound good while the bar is full? **BRENT**
