  1. Jack White got fairly emotional starting at the 2 minutes mark during "You've Got Her In Your Pocket", which is one of my fav White Stripes songs. I didn't know this was out, but between this and the new Wilco, I may have to buy some vinyl for the first time in a few months. **BRENT**
  2. Got in the mood for some burgers and fries. After two stores and an hour and a half shopping, I didn't feel like it last night, so amazing lunch it is. May as well do it right. Boar's Head yellow cheddar Boar's Head white cheddar Halfway through the 6oz (exactly) S-V/125°/cast iron seared burger, I realized I wish I could still eat a ton, because I wanted that spare one i made. Zoë thought the ~fries were good, but not as good as my mom's. Not bad praise from a teenage girl, especially as she's more of a fry-in-the-oven than a peanut-oil-in-fryer kinda gal. Xavier loved them and the burger, which is awesome. For a first time sous-vide cook, I'm super happy with it. The fries wound up being a lot better than the usual frozen fair and weight wise, even the organic is a hair cheaper than the frozen stuff we usually get, and those can be prepped while fryer is warming up. Great use of 2+ hours today. Now it's nap time. **BRENT** Sent from my ONEPLUS A3000 using Tapatalk
  3. Dig that, Carl. Here's a link to the collection if you wanted to take a look. http://www.crateandbarrel.com/capitol I forgot how expensive C&B is. One of these days I need to look into not being poor; I kinda dig some of that stuff. It also makes the actual vinyl they sell seem STUPIDLY cheap. **BRENT**
  4. Have you seen them live? Highly recommended. **BRENT**
  5. Tom has a fantastic vinyl collection, and while he may have a DAC or a CDP laying around, he's almost all vinyl. I always enjoyed chilling in the listening room in Atlanta, and would love to make it up to VA. Perhaps one day. **BRENT**
  6. So you are why I got a speeding ticket..... Not in the ST but in a minivan in my way to Chuck E Cheese... This makes me very happy. **BRENT** Sent from my R1 HD using Tapatalk
  7. Yeah, I was out and didn't remember the draft until Todd messaged me 5 minutes before it started. I'm not sure if we can redraft but I was at the lakehouse all day and didn't have signal, so just now getting all of these messages. Sorry guys; I had biscuits today. **BRENT**
  8. If everyone does keepers then that isn't a problem. **BRENT** Sent from my R1 HD using Tapatalk
  9. May as well get a new amp to go with them too, and a new DAC, and a new Bendy Head to display them! (Need my address for the commission check, @Iron_Dreamer?) **BRENT**
  10. I looked and looked for a cheap repair stand back when I was looking for Xavier's road bike (see race finish pic above.) I came to the conclusion that there's really nothing you want to touch under 100-130. I'd just find a proper-height tree branch and hang it from the saddle and work on them like that. I have a hanging-from-top-tube hitch rack, and that seems to work fairly well for my bike, but YMMV for kid bikes with that solution. **BRENT**
  11. Draft Type Snake Draft Date Sunday, September 4, 2016 at 9:00 PM ET Seconds Per Pick 90 Draft Order Randomized One Hour Prior to Draft Time I have things set up to go Sunday Sept 4th at 9pm eastern. As of now, we have a randomized draft pick order, but that can be changed up until 8pm on Sunday. If some of you want to set it earlier, let us know and Jeff or I can do a randomizer. Also, it looks like we have 1 keeper set up. I'm not exactly sure how that works at the moment, but log in and take a look at things. I think we're still waiting on @MoonShine to chime in, yes? **BRENT**
  12. Because it's bad. **BRENT** Sent from my R1 HD using Tapatalk
  13. I'm thinking Sunday is going to be the best day to do this; how does 9pm Eastern this Sunday, Sept 4th sound? It looks like we have 7 people so far. Are we going to shoot for 8 or 10? We need @Sherwood to wake up and chime in for at least the 8th person. @Salt Peanuts and @MoonShine, are you kids in this year? (The answer is yes, BTW.) Is @Aura back in? I hear he has some free time lately. **BRENT**
  14. Xavier finishing his first ever Time Trial. He came in last in the junior division, but he was the only kid in Chattanooga to even compete. 7 kids in his age group (9-12) and the other 6 were split evenly between two teams which came from at least 2 hours away, and almost every kid had Zipp 303, 404, or 808s... but one had some deeper-than-808 Reynolds wheels. We went out on a ride with a septuagenarian friend of mine about 2 hours after this pic was taken, and we got in an hour ride. When we were packing up after that ride, he told me "I forgot how much I love riding!" <3 **BRENT**
  15. I need to remember to abuse this later, but I haven't had free time in a while. I haven't even gotten to post pix of Xavier's bike race, or that pic of Colin that he's going to hate me for. Jeff, hit me up next time you see me in chat and remind me. **BRENT**

  17. FYI: Tidal has a "Friends and Family" deal where the primary member pays the full amount and you can add on up to 3-5 more people for half price (5$ for poor people music, 10$ for FLAC.) If anyone wants to go in on this, we could bring down the per-person cost a bit (2 for 30$, 3 for 40$, 4 for 50$, 5 (possibly) for 60$) which would make the cost for Roon basically what most of us are paying anyways. Post up if anyone is interested and we can take it from there. **BRENT**
  18. Got it worked out; he races 8am Saturday morning. **BRENT**
  19. Grrr... so it seems you have to have a license to race and I didn't realize it. I looked and it's a 200$ late fee, had I done it before 8:30am today. Otherwise, 35$ for the year + 15$ for the race. I emailed the contact from the race, but Xavier is really bummed about this. I'm hoping I can work something out. **BRENT**
  20. More info: the crit is probably going to be about 20 kids, from 9-14. I talked to him some more and I think we're leaning more towards Time Trial as well. Steve, like Chris mentioned, he's a bit nervous when it comes to cornering at speed; it's not something we really get to practice since we only have a few turns on our usual routes we can take at speed, and he hasn't been out much lately. I'll go ahead and sign him up tonight before the late fee hits. **BRENT**
  21. So there is a bike race -- The River Gorge Omnium -- with a junior division this weekend and Xavier and I are talking about entering him in it. For those of you with racing experience, there is a 4 mile Time Trial at 8:30am and a 20 minute criterium at noon. I think he's definitely open to doing one, but both are on the table. If you only had to pick one, which would it be? With 3 hours of rest between the TT and Crit, would that be enough? TT route Downtown crit route **BRENT**
