  1. Thanks for the condolences everyone. Xavier and I are back on the trails, though. Went out for a father's day ride. Sent from my LG-H932 using Tapatalk
  2. Would be nice if some of those had GPS built in. It's nice to have that function glanceable without having to pull a phone out when being active, but to at least have it recorded would be on my list. Probably a ways away for battery tech to even power GPS long enough to be functional on a ring. Sent from my LG-H932 using Tapatalk
  3. I love my original, and still wear it daily along with a Fitbit Charge 2 on the other hand to keep HR tracking done. This looks to be leaps and bounds ahead of mine in many arenas, and it'd be high on my list. The battery life of "days" as opposed to "charging nightly" is fantastic. I usually just top off while I'm taking a shower every couple of days and that's enough to keep me going without a full charge for a month or two. DC Rainmaker seemed to have liked it last year, but never did the update when he bought his own, so may have found something he liked better. Seems like a lot of watch for 250$ (though I'm sure we can find a deal.) https://www.dcrainmaker.com/2017/10/garmin-vivoactive-3-in-depth-review.html Sent from my LG-H932 using Tapatalk
  4. CJ, this keeps thinking I'm a robot. Hit me up on FB if you want to chat about this.
  5. Installed a Draw-Tite 1.25" receiver hitch and built/installed a Thule T2 Pro XT. Supposedly 20-30 minutes. Maybe on a brand new car that didn't have years of... Tolerance Creep, we'll say. Should have paid the extra 100$. What I thought would be an hour was a full day, but it was cold and rainy, so not exactly what one would really want to ride in anyway. Xavier helped me every step of the way, We earned that next ride! If you look closely, you can see the lock wrapped around the wheel and fork Sent from my LG-H932 using Tapatalk
  6. Had Colin, our buddy Mike, and one of Xavier's friends over for the first grill out of the summer on the "vintage" Weber 3 burner grill that came with the house. Had 3 Waygu burgers, 3 pounds of 73/27 ground beef, a few brats, corn, and of course, some Searzall melted cheese on grilled Franz buns. Pulled the larger buns for a smaller burger early on, but got the sizing right-er later. Also, sampler pack of Strongbow Cider and a 6 pack Angry Orchard to go along with it. Great impromptu gathering! Sent from my LG-H932 using Tapatalk
  7. Dan said it well. RIP. Sent from my LG-H932 using Tapatalk
  8. Sous-vide leg of lamb, finished in cast iron on induction stove top. Plated with Original Ruffles crisp fried potato Sent from my LG-H932 using Tapatalk
  9. Does this mean I should get a biscuit?
  10. Sigh. It's how I remember to check things.
  11. Lil'Woody's 1/3rd lb burger with Tillamook pepper jack and Hill's bacon with cheese covered fries. I'll be back, but with 2-3 people. Took over half of it to go. Sent from my LG-H932 using Tapatalk
  12. Well, one option is, you can buy a bike. https://www.marinbikes.com/bikes/pine-mountain-2 Let me know and I can probably get you a deal.
  13. Thanks for the belated wishes, gentleman. Been crazy busy as of late and trying to catch up on HC. Been in Portland this weekend with my daughter on a band trip, so I'm in with all the band moms now. I also realize that I'm a fairly young "old" person. It's interesting. *Hugs* Sent from my LG-H932 using Tapatalk
  14. You're welcome, old fiend. Maybe you'll just have to come to Seattle for not a biscuit. Sent from my LG-H932 using Tapatalk
  15. Such is life. I'm at work, so didn't have time to look it up to be technically correct, and as we all know, that's the best kind of correct to be. Alas.
  16. I believe you previously mentioned "residuals"...
  17. Thanks everyone! Had a bit of a long day, as I didn't take off work, so wound up ringing my day in with about 75 taylor swift fans leaving the concert, and came home to some cake and ice cream. Got a nap then woke up, had some awesome pork chops made for me, then went off to work, where I ended the birthday talking to the bus driver. To top it off, the @$$hole boss didn't even get a cake to celebrate. SMH. But, first birthday in the new city, got tons of b-day wishes and phone calls from people I don't hear from often enough. I felt loved, and that's typically a good feeling. Brent Aside: Nice phone choice, A^X. Same.
  18. God dammit! Old friend of mine, one of the first "dad friends" I made, from when our kids went to kindergarten together, died today. He was an older radio dude, had the most amazing booming voice, and had fallen on some rough times. I don't know yet if he went out on his own terms or if it was all the serious medical stuff he'd been dealing with the past few years, but he was a good man. Our kids would do stuff together all the time, but we'd kinda gotten away from each other as though he had 100% custody until his daughter Izzy was 13 or so, she wound up going to stay with her mom half the time. He was in his 50s when she was born, and her mom in her late 20s/early 30s, and not the greatest parent out there. So he was late 60s, smoked a pack a day but quit cold turkey when his doc was like "stop or you're not going to get to see your kid grow up." Fuck. I feel so bad for Izzy. I lost my dad when I was younger than her, but she's still way too fucking young. Fuck, man... we used to take all the kids out to Fazoli's during the "lean years" because we got 99 cent kid meals on Tuesdays, and they had arts and crafts, and for 20$ we'd feed 4 kids (one more of the crew lived with her great grandmother, b/c her mom was a POS and her grandmother was barely better, but the old French grandmother was fantastic) and spend 2-3 hours hanging out and talking. Man, this one hurts. Shit, Zoe doesn't even know yet. They had so many sleepovers. We even lived in the same apartment complex (found out after the girls were friends and randomly ran into them when parking was full and had to park at their building.) Fuck. Edit: Oh, yeah, you guys don't know him. RIP John Johnson aka "Bearski" aka John Thomas. I just knew the dude as "John." Dammit.

  20. https://thewirecutter.com/reviews/best-gas-grill/ These are on the lower-middle version of what you're looking at, I think, but they seem to be well thought of. Pretty sure along with Jim, multiple people here have Spirits or Genesiseses. S-310 seems like a fantastic choice. My house came with an older Weber gas grill and a charcoal grill as well, but were not for those, I'd probably be actively looking for a Weber X-310.
  21. <3 I did see some YouTube videos about repairing them when I was looking for a pic, so I figure it's doable.
  22. Not sure how that's my problem, though when I do have those problems, I just make Colin fix it. It usually takes 4-6 years, but it'll get done eventually.
  23. Just get a couple of those for storage purposes only, and eject when you want to put it on a real player. Problem solved.
