  2. So this was 3-4 hours ago, and it went this hard up until about half an hour ago. Xavier is wearing the traditional winter garb of our people.
  3. Happy birthday, Jeff! Going to have some of these in your honour.
  4. Got a dusting today in Bellevue
  5. Any 90s MTBing fans? Cannondale released some Throwback frames. I want the blue one. https://www.cannondale.com/en/USA/Products/ProductCategory.aspx?nid=49ac1233-6a05-4c22-be65-7b1b77c46b88 https://www.pinkbike.com/news/cannondale-launches-new-f-si-hi-mod-throwback-framesets.html https://www.mtb-news.de/news/2018/12/02/cannondale-roadtrip-zum-traumbike/?utm_source=site&utm_medium=share-button&utm_campaign=facebook&fbclid=IwAR2HHHE-VoPmxtvmcpOPfCNgq-IjdwrASKOi6SmtVbP2fPMKQFwMLiVjUlQ
  6. So George H.W. Bush is out. https://www.washingtonpost.com/local/obituaries/george-hw-bush-41st-president-of-the-united-states-dies-at-94/2018/11/30/42fa2ea2-61e2-11e8-99d2-0d678ec08c2f_story.html And before Grahame posted it, looks like the Post hadn't yet updated all the information:
  7. I was going to climb into Colin's suitcase and try to make it, but, well... he failed at things. ¡Feliz cumpleaños, mi amigo de cerveza!
  8. And it's a Black Edition... ❤️
  9. Went to a "celebration of life" for my friend Alex who passed away earlier this month at 26; many tears were shed yesterday. I haven't had the heart to come in this thread in a bit, but I'm so saddened by all of the losses near and dear to those of our d-_-b family. ❤️ and *hugs* to you all.
  10. Man, too bad Grahame isn't getting in on this... BMW e30 Drift Car would demolish his Lada
  11. Heh, so I ordered a shelf and manger was like "uhmmm, wtf?" and I'm like "there's a plan" and he's like "well, looks like you volunteered to clean out the corner box collection." That collection included a bunch of paper; put it on the bottom shelf so it can help weight down the shelf for stability. Makes sense, no?
  12. Heh, well, if my boss gives me a big raise, maybe I'll get some acceptable cans. Heh, would be fun to have some closed cans, being an open office and all.
  13. I set up my work rig today, as I felt IEMs and phone weren't quite enough. Denon DP-300F Turntable Lab edition (cork mat and Ortofon 2M-Red upgrade) -> Matrix Audio M-Stage HPA-2 Classic -> HF1-2s
  14. It was 2lbs, and it was bloody delicious. I think Colin probably could have done it in a single serving, but these days? I couldn't have.
  15. Happy belated Thursday, Chris! Quit working so hard, quit fishing so much, and start riding again, dammit!
  16. So... in the interest of saving Nate from a heart attack, I'll just say that "it's almost exactly in the middle, price wise, of Specialized's 10 e-MTBs." Seems almost reasonable in that light.
  17. RIP Alexander Hyland, 25, Elementary school teacher, Tacoma, WA. My buddy Alex died yesterday. He had a brain tumor and after multiple surgeries and treatments, just couldn't beat it. One of the last things he said to me was "I'm Scared." He was one of the most interesting people I've met, even though I've known him but a short time. I met him through Mensa when I first went to a Mensa of Western Washington event. His mother (our prez) introduced us, and we hit it off immediately. A formidable foe in a match of wits, and on more than one occasion he wore a shirt that said "I had brain surgery; what's your excuse?" He wore this while wearing gauze on his head covering electrodes tied to basically an industrial strength TENS unit mated to his head, in a bag he carried around. At the end, his mother wouldn't let anyone but close family in to the hospital to see him, even though he had many friends who wanted to be there. It feels like he died alone, even though we were just outside the proverbial door. We had some good conversations in the weeks leading up to his passing, but this one hurts. He was my favorite person of the new people I've met here, and I've lost too many fucking people lately. We planned on having a drink together, but with his meds when we met, we couldn't. By the time we could, it was too late. Alex, tonight, for you, I'll bring out the biggest gun I have -- usually saved for celebrations, but today, in memoriam.
  18. Ken, oh no! Is the bike OK? Also, hope you heal quickly and are back on the bike soon!
  19. You have no idea how hard it was to keep this new Mini a secret once I found out you were going Hackintosh.
  20. Looking forward to see what you get! Maybe one day we can have another mtb Meetup. Dibs on borrowing Ken's ebike Nate, glad the rear shock is at least holding air for a ride. I had no idea they were such a pain to repair/replace. Hope the next one is a bit more standard replacement wise
  21. But he didn't, because he is weak. Sent from my LG-H932 using Tapatalk
  22. Korean BBQ with Colin and Adam (TMoney) Combo #3. Just couldn't justify the "food for 6" when we only had 3 Sent from my LG-H932 using Tapatalk
  23. Memo to self: Go dumpster diving @ Stretch's for the discarded X for an experiment.
