Heh. I think his hair didn't grow... it just stayed the same distance from the ground and he grew a bit. They were almost as good as the R10s were. **BRENT**

Let me start this off by sort-of crossposting from HF. Not being able to just C&P from HF to here and have the pictures show up is REALLY annoying. Before I start with re-inserting 25 or so pictures, let me start off with a HC exclusive. I hope there are no small children around. **Colin Note: I decided to skip the bathroom pics this time, in loo (get it, literally toilet humour) of the shot below** He's baaaa aaaaack! Event organizer: Trav Listening to what we can all agree was the best rig there... mine. Trav in his normal/more natural pose The triumphant return of Ingwe Can you seriously believe someone brought a kid to a meet!?!?! Oh well, at least he brought a Wii. Doesn't this kit have great hair? Yeah, he does. Cybertron trying to run away with Purk's R10s. Oh, wait... nevermind. What!?!? Another kid? Seriously? Oh well, at least she was super cute. From left: Some guy's arm, Cybertron, Zoe (Beauty), Ingwe's head (Beast), blurry Trav, MrArroyo's right arm. I never knew TomB was a Viking... Oh yeah, if you didn't know, it's Tom B, not "tomb". He doesn't really remind me of the Crypt Keeper, makes a lot more sense with caps, no? Internals of JJ900s Exemplar 3910. You've met the machine, now meet the man. JJ (JeffreyJ900. Seriously dude? Seriously?) with some L3ks via Purk out of the ZD + Exemplar 3910 rig. Here is Paul Tarver, a founding member and current Treasurer of the A-VCOA (Audio-Video Club Of Atlanta). These guys invited some HF HC members along with the great (and sadly absent) Tyll Hertsens of Headroom fame to a Computer Audio demonstration in the Atlanta area last summer. We had a great time there and have kept in touch some, and I invited their group to come out to our headphone meet this weekend. I'm not sure of the total count, but I know at least 6 or 7 members came out and unlike the last gathering, we had plenty of rigs and time to listen and talk about things. If you're reading A-VCOA guys, thanks for coming out, hope you enjoyed it! I believe the rig is an Exemplar 5910 -> Headamp Gilmore Reference amp (I'm sure Purk will correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe this is one of the one or two single ended Gilmore Reference amps in existence). You'll have to ask Fitz what this is, but it has the blackest blacks I've ever seen. I'd want a blacker faceplate, but otherwise I greatly approve of the visual palette used. HC Bonus: HF-1 porn (TomB's, though) These next two pieces of gear need no introduction... OK, so maybe they do need an introduction, but I will let our good friend TomB answer that one for you. Speaking of TomB yet again, here is a horrible shot of him with a wonderful shot of someone's beautiful naked HP-1s. Yes, I just ruined anyone's chance of finding this thread with SafeSearch turned On. Mrs. JeffreyJ900 sporting her new office rig, right Jeff? I didn't get to listen to this guy's rig, but I got to play with his computer, and I want one. From the picture album entitled "Excuse: Seriously, the lighting was tough in this room, guys..." I bring you ZeroIbis' Alienware M11x. The DIY sub-forum: Fitz and TomB Foreground: Ingwe and TwoTrack (who brough a high-rez rig with some of his digital recordings, which is one of the things I meant to get around to listening to (along with the, I believe, ALO modded SR225s around his neck). Background: Cybertron facepalming after realizing he was going to wind up making a purchase on this event day. Those silly kids again! This time forgoing their portable rigs for something a little more grown up. Xavier's rig: 4th gen iPod Nano->PX100s. Zoe's rig: Sansa Clip+ ->JVC Flats (in pink). (I wonder if I could send some SR-60s to Colorware... hmmm...). Their portable rigs are loaded up with ALAC/AAC/MP3 and FLAC/MP3, respectively. Zoe is listening to Dave Matthews & Time Reynolds: Live In Las Vegas (if you were wondering why she was smiling so big (and you were)). Cans I brought to the meet: HF-1 #39 / HP-1 / HF-2 #39 Cans Cybertron wound up taking home with him along with whatever he brought. Lucky... Daddy shaking a finger at Junior telling him to be good for his new friend My rig from my viewpoint My rig from Zoe's viewpoint (she took this picture while using an impromptu flash diffuser made out of a white napkin) I had a great time at this meet. Lots of great gear, lots of great people, lots of fun. Can't wait to do it again, but hopefully we won't have to wait another year. Trav ran a good event last year, this one was bigger... next one? Bigger, maybe? **BRENT**

Happy B-Lated B-Day, Shelly! **BRENT**

Heh. All these people saying "Happy Birthday" on your birthday instead of driving to Atlanta to see you. Silly silly people. Yeah, I remember talking to you yesterday and you brought up birthday, and I completely didn't know it had actually just passed. You should order up your B-Day present you were talking about yesterday. Seriously, should make a great gift. Just pick one and then get the other one next year. **BRENT**

Setting up on old laptop for a child
MexicanDragon replied to The Monkey's topic in GoRedwings19's Computer Help Hotline
Hippie. My little girl has computer class at school. They see mommy and daddy on their computers and are interested. There are educational games/websites. Did you not have a Speak & Spell when you were a kid? It's kinda like that, but more. It also keeps old computers from hitting the landfill and killing the planet. Planet Killer. **BRENT** -
wow, so the sansa clip+ is actually a good player now
MexicanDragon replied to Chekhonte's topic in Portable Audio
FWIW, I was able to play FLAC out of the box of one I bought my little girl at Christmas. For supporting drag & drop I believe there is a setting you change on the player, which is just changing USB mode. **BRENT** -
Setting up on old laptop for a child
MexicanDragon replied to The Monkey's topic in GoRedwings19's Computer Help Hotline
My kids have had their own computer for about a year now (7/4 now). They are both good with it. Wired mouse + leaving the trackpad functional would be my recommendation (keeping orientation right + not losing it = reasons to go for wired). My kids are fine with a regular sized mouse, but the mini ones would be fine. Xavier did take the scissors to the cord one time, so I wouldn't put TOO much into a mouse, now that I think about it. I have firefox set up with the bookmark bar at the top. I have a link to NickJr.com, cartoonnetwork.com, hulu.com (for the kids' section) and also a link to Netflix.com for the Kids' section of "Watch Instantly." Zoe also has her own facebook account with her own farmville farm , though that may be more for the wife's benefit than hers. There are probably a lot of games like that on FB, though. There are sites out there that do educational games too, but I'll have to go look to find those, I believe. Depending on how old the machine is, I'd probably do a fresh install of XP. I believe a few of the games the kids have on their machine are from realarcade.com, but maybe that was just the older one. There is some cheap (7$ or so) subscription I have where the kids (and/or wife) gets game credits monthly. Also, you'll want to set up Foobar and all appropriate plugins, or maybe break down and install iTunes. That way he'd be most of the way ready for his ULN-2 when he gets to "upgrade" to a mac next year. **BRENT** -
You kids ready? My kids are (almost) ready. Rules for bringing your kids to a meet. 1) Make sure they have their own rigs (Zoe = Sansa Clip+ -> JVC Flats (pink) / Xavier = 4th gen iPod Nano -> PX100s) 2) Bring crayons/paper/coloring books 3) Bring extra cellphones/gaming devices for the road (multiple hours round trip) 4) Bring a Wii Should be an interesting day... **BRENT**

Thanks for that link. I watched the JH interview, and it made me definitely want JH13s over JH16s now. Creed uses JH16s. Horrible. **BRENT**

Jeff, I have one of those for my Storm. It's the most overkill thing I've ever seen. That case alone makes me want to get an iPad just to put in it. I think you would want to get something like the Invisible Shield and take out the built in screen protector (not that great, bubbles, but it protects well). Seriously, that is bad ass. **BRENT**

Haven't been around much but the past week: Started a new job last Monday. Easy stuff, being trained, learning quicker than others, applying things quicker than others, kinda having fun with that part. Realizing I need to go back to school. Eyes are shot from looking at crappy screens all day without access to HC Chat. Got to go out drinking for the first time in a long time with some people friday after going to a AA minor league baseball game (Chattanooga Lookouts, former Reds and now Dodgers farm team). The blue hats are much cooler than the red ones. I did take my camera to the game/after-game festivities and got a few hundred pictures (many just playing with settings while shooting fireworks). Oh, after getting in around 4am I was right back up to go to my little girl's penultimate soccer game of the year. Skies were overcast, starting to sprinkle, but the game wasn't called off. That is, until we got there. We pulled in as 75 SUVs were pulling out of a lot in the pouring down rain. I then spent 2 hours with the kids in a waiting room with about 15 other people waiting to see my brother during visitation in a local "correctional facility". That was a blast. Then went to a birthday party 1.5 hours late for someone from Xavier's daycare... wound up hanging out for 3 hours. The woman throwing the party (the kid's grandmother) and I talked for a couple hours while the kids played. She has a pet wolf. Memo to self: don't let Xavier spend the night. So far the new job is going well, though. Spent all of today out of training an "on the floor." We have certain standards to meet, and a way to keep track of it. I was on goal to beat what I needed today, but we ran out of work, so back at it again tomorrow. Heh... I did have to tell my trainer how to use a new messaging system we got, and was, on my second or third day, called out by my supervisor (above the trainer) about giving advice to the other trainees (over what had just been covered... some didn't retain the information as well). Heh. Oops. **BRENT**

The Official Head-Case Photography Thread.
MexicanDragon replied to Knuckledragger's topic in Miscellaneous
Something I shot the other night, straight off the cam (need to install CS4 and mess around with it some). Shot in downtown Chattanooga whilst some friends (and strangers) were traversing the streets trying to figure out why we took a bus a few miles out of the way when it turns out that it was the last one of the night. Oh well, plenty of bars on the way back (including some with live music and 15 y/o scotch), and we hit every one of them. This was just before the rain came. I wish it would have come out better, but meh, I'm just getting started (if you don't count the thousands of soccer photos I have). **BRENT** -

JH Audio's Photos - Sweet Ears | Facebook They have a demo pair for something. However, I DID just notice that they do blacklight invisible! JH Audio Photos | Facebook FWIW, I'm not SURE if that is what they're calling "Blacklight Invisible", but it's listed as "clear blacklight paint on a test shell", so I'm thinking that's what it is, though really, I figure they could do clear blacklight over any color, though it would probably produce a bit of a haze. **BRENT**

Hey Colin... Dew eet. Now that I'm at this new job and I've seen working conditions, I MAY be able to get away with Grados for a little bit, but yeah, I figure it's about time to start thinking about color/art choices. So, since after seeing pix of my previous choice (blacklight yellow/black, or something like that), and knowing that won't work for what I wanted, I'm thinking this: Black with "Beats by Dr. Dre" logo or Magenta Blacklight or Black Eye Blue with "Skullcandy" logo Thoughts? **BRENT**

I sort of want a pair of good closed phones

That's better than those silly things he was wearing when I saw him at the airport... Oh, Vicki also had the Shure 840s for a little while. For 120$, may as well give 'em a shot while you're waiting in line for your ThunderPantses. **BRENT** -
iPhone 4G: proof -- Engadget I still say it has to be a prototype, but I figure much of the placement/functionality is going to wind up in the final - probably aluminum unibodied - iPhone 2010. **BRENT**

Sat through a poorly coached soccer game in miserable weather with a pollen count approaching 10x over "very unhealthy". Thank Satan this bloody season is almost over, and I can hide inside until winter, when I can breathe. Seriously, any coach who lets his team be named "Pinkalicious". **BRENT**

Jeff, did you already get your Overdrive? It has a list of all of the stores that have the case. None are around here or I'd get one for you, but NJ has 4. Looks like they are giving them out free with the Overdrive. That really is a beautiful thing. **BRENT**
