Gizmodo just picked up a blurb about the product a buddy of mine came up with/sells. These are milled out of 16lb blocks of aluminum, and are just pretty badass in general. **BRENT**

It usually takes me about 3 weeks to watch 8 seasons. For 5 seasons of 30 Rock, I think I did it in 2. How I Met Your Mother, 6 seasons pretty quick too. I go through a season of Weeds in 2 sittings. Mmmmm... TV. **BRENT**

He was probably looking at the girl in the red dress. (Actually, I think he was looking at the band, but he SHOULD have been looking at the girl in the red dress.) **BRENT** -

Went to Tivoli Theatre in Chattanooga last weekend to see the Chattanooga Symphony & Orchestra's Big Band Fever! Just messing around in Lightroom 4 for a bit. I was one of two people with a dSLR, in the front row, and the only person without either someone or a rope in front of them, but that was just the width of the stairs going to the stage. I want something with more usable high-ISO now. Grrr... some of these kids were just moving too fast. **BRENT** -

Windows installation problems - Help?
MexicanDragon replied to MexicanDragon's topic in GoRedwings19's Computer Help Hotline
Update: I got a Win7 ISO and installed that, after a few tries, and the machine worked great... for about 30 hours. Then there were problems again. Tried installing the OEM again, didn't work, so I installed off the ISO again. It worked a couple hours then crashed a lot. I got it sent off a while ago and got it back today. They say all they did was reinstall windows to factory settings and update the BIOS (which is what I tried to do 14 times, with the discs they provided). Well, they installed it for the wrong model, but after some messing around with it I got everything I've come across to work. So far, it hasn't bogged down yet. We'll see how it is in a few days, but for now, I have a working machine again. Thanks for all the help, guys... a couple of you, especially. Next time, though... I'm just gonna get a MacBook Air. Screw it. **BRENT** -

FWIW, the 11" MBA resolution (1366x768) is the same as my 15" laptop, and most 15" laptops under about 1000$. The 13" MBA (1440x900) screen has the same resolution as the 15" MBP Standard display, and either is probably a better choice than the 13" MBP, with 1280x800 screen. I think people may find the 11" MBA cramped due to it being a 16:9 ratio screen vs the others at 16:10. Losing a few pixels in height, relative to the others, may give you that feeling. Just a thought. **BRENT** -

Woke up at 6 something to get the car washed (twice) and ready for a BMW drive through the mountains. Got stopped by a 90ft tall tree that was downed by the wind across the road. Got to help some park rangers pull it off the road after the chain saws came in. Hit a place called the Cajun Depot for a blackened chicken sandwich and came back over the mountains and a bunch of different back roads. Then I took the kids to a birthday party at an inflatable place (Partyville), and went home for a nap. Skipped the nap, went to the Chattanooga Symphony Orchestra for Big Band Fever! They had two dance floors, and I had my 20D and 50 f/1.4. Hope the shots came out. Oh yeah... I didn't get a ticket before hand, so took my chances with the box office. Nice lady at the front, chatted a second, and got front row at the end, right in front of the stairs leading to the stage dance floor (only person not in the balcony with a clear view of the dancers) and had the best view of the lower dance floor as well. Not bad for a last minute purchase. Oh yeah, met up with some people from MENSA who were there and went out for desert after the show. Struck up a convo with the pianist on the walk to the diner. Friendly guy. All in all, a pretty good day! **BRENT**
