  2. Feeling better all ready! @ Shelly **BRENT**
  3. Thanks guy. I'm feeling better as of now. Not sure if it was pain meds or the steroids, or a combo, but I have been able to relax for the first time in a couple days. Hope Mrs. DH gets better soon. Back pain is a PITA (lower back pain, at least). I hope it's nothing too serious. The Chicago and NYC (and Travel Team) crews know how gimpy I am these days. I don't wish that on anyone. Jim, I'm thinking you may be right re: mending process. I have a feeling this could be along the lines of nerve regeneration... just a really crappy part of nerve regeneration. I'll take a week of pain every few months for added feeling below the belt in the future hands down, though. **BRENT**
  4. John, yep, my back, but mainly the shooting pains in my leg and foot again. The nurse knows my case and when she heard my voice, they squeezed me in as soon as they could. Luckily, after the first round of steroids and a pain pill, the pain has subsided quite a bit. Last time this happened, I tried to get in the office, but couldn't, as they were on vacation that week. My surgeon has now started his own practice, so this should be interesting. It's been raining all weekend, and the rain just really fucks with me. It usually doesn't set it off like THIS, though. I'm HOPING that it's part of the nerve regeneration process. It definitely feels like a "mixed signal" thing, as even light brushes against my leg can set off pretty intense pain, while other time, someone could whack me with a stick (or thorn bush), and I would barely feel it. **BRENT**
  5. A buddy of mine was telling me today that Verizon is offering him 159$ for his AT&T iPhone 4 16GB. You may wanna see what the carriers will offer. That could be even easier than Gazelle/eBay, and it's possible that you could save some cash on tax, depending on how the trade is done. **BRENT**
  6. Sorry, I read that wrong. I thought you HAD the Galaxy Nexus already. (Just got back from pharmacy, I'm a bit... out of it ) So, don't buy a Galaxy Nexus at this point. Still a good phone, but it'd be painful in 2 years. The GSIII is a very nice phone, but you'll lose out on the stock Android experience. I'm OK with the size of it, but then again, I'm OK with the Galaxy Note 2 as well. Either of those phones is going to be a fair bit larger than what you have. So there's nothing official about the Next Nexus phone yet, but that's the one I'd hold out for. Otherwise, I don't see how you wouldn't be happy with the GSIII, if you wanted something sooner. Do you have discounts through work? If it's like it used to be, some carriers would allow yearly upgrades at the 2 year price. If that's still an option, I'd definitely go through them. If you want to turn to the dark side, 32GB iPhone 5 is available for deliver on Friday. http://delivery.sprint.com/m/p/nxt/dev/wdyw.asp Check that site, enter your e-mail, and see what they can do for you. **BRENT**
  7. Spent much of yesterday writhing in pain, and still was this morning. Doctor was able to squeeze me in today. Got some steroids and pain pills and an appointment with my surgeon for next week. I'm over this whole "pain" thing. **BRENT**
  8. http://shop2.sprint.com/NASApp/onlinestore/en/Action/OSBrowseAccessoriesOnlyCategories?PHONE_ID=SPHL700KIT&INTCID=TSC:MyS:ICP:FreeBat:081912 Enter code BATTERY1 at checkout to possibly get a free extended battery for your Galaxy Nexus, Shelly, paying only S&H. If that doesn't work, you can call Tele Sales: (866) 866-7509 to try to work it out with them. Worst case, drop the 50$ for the battery, then wait for the next Nexus device. I think the GSIII may finally be good enough for me to use TouchWiz, but I still prefer stock as well. Without rooting/ROMing, that's probably your best bet for now. Hope that helps. **BRENT**

  10. I'm hearing Canon 6D for just under 2100$ released tomorrow. Full frame in APS-C sized body. Not hearing anything about video, possibly 7D AF. **BRENT**
  11. Heh. Glad you had a good time, DP. Also, I should've said "would've", not "wouldn't". Bah. Glad you're getting to go out and play. Take some video for us. I hear it can be entertaining. **BRENT**

  16. The homepage said today was your birthday, but I don't believe it. If it were your birthday, you wouldn't gotten a bike for your birthday, but I didn't see Mindless Consumerism or the Bike Thread updated, so what's the deal? On the off chance it is your birthday, hope you had a good one. If it isn't, well, you're a mod, delete it! **BRENT**
  17. It's cool, I have 25 weeks to train for it. Also, last week in NYC I realized there's the magical thing called "taxis." It's brilliant. Chicago should look into 'em. **BRENT**
  18. http://www.npr.org/news/specials/2012/cushman/ Story (with audio slideshow) of a guy who took 14,000 color pictures from the late 30s through the early 60s. It looks like there are a lot of shots of the Golden Gate Bridge, various people pix, one I liked with horse and buggy vs guy on tractor. I'd say it's worth the 10-15 minutes to go through the slideshow. I watched it with Zoe (my 9 year old daughter) and she seemed rather interested. **BRENT**
  19. Nope. Mike is going to like the next one. "Key Lime Pie." Tyrion: "I make an awesome Key Lime Pie. You can't have any." **BRENT**
  20. FWIW, it doesn't scour IMDB at all. I find that odd, but also pretty neat. **BRENT**
  21. Yes. On Verizon, you don't get charged with the NEW plans (tiered data). AT&T probably charges you. T-Mobile may or may not charge you, depending on plan. I think Sprint still charges. Unless it's disabled by the manufacturer or carrier, Android has built-in tethering capabilities. I doubt they've taken that out in ICS or Jelly Bean (the two latest OS releases). I use it all the time on my 1.5 year old Android phone. **BRENT**
  22. http://www.amazon.co...&qid=1347667613 There are 22 free Kindle books to choose from with free Whisper Sync for Voice, which syncs with your Audible account. You can read on Kindle, pick up on the audiobook, or vice versa. So far, I've been able to get Bram Stoker's Dracula and Oscar Wilde's The Picture of Dorian Gray. I'm going to try to get all of them while they're still free. If nothing else, free copies of the books for the kids. **BRENT** Edit: I wound up with 13 books + 13 audiobooks. At that point, I was tired of clicking + didn't care about the other stuff. 8 of them I didn't care enough to do, and FUCK the Bronte sisters (bad memory from sophomore English class... dirty dirty [EXPLETIVE DELETED]!
