There were headphones. Some of them sounded good. Some of them didn't sound as good. There were people, most of them were good. We got nachos. Good times. **BRENT**

10am start time. Adrian and I headed down with gear now. Let's do this! **BRENT**

"He's like the angry 909." -Adrian about Fitz's driving. Welcome to CanLanta, tkam! **BRENT**

If you want my number, pm me. I can fax you the proper forms for background checks and whatnot, if you need that information. **BRENT**

I'm so sorry for your loss. **BRENT**

@ Heir. Hope all will be well soon. So I have an issue. I had a few different things lined up as far as lodging for this weekend, but they have fallen through. Anyone have a spare bed/cot/floor/bath tub/couch/vat of nachos/palatial guest house I may could crash at Friday and Saturday nights (maybe Sunday, if the need manifests)? LMK, thanks. **BRENT**

I'm getting tkam from the airport at 3. **BRENT**

Here's the ride I did Monday. I went out on the "Beginner's Ride", but took off with a fitter group (the leader of that group is the guy who hung with me my first time out and stuck with me every painfully slow pedal stroke), and we did a ridge climb. It was pretty depressing seeing how little of a climb it was, but I did it (except for a section where it went down to about 1-2mph, where I walked the last 75-100 yards of the climb.) http://connect.garmin.com/activity/306417577 I have Friday and Monday off, bookending CanLanta, so I plan on getting rides in those days, so hopefully they'll be longer/faster than this one. I need to drop 100 pounds like, yesterday. **BRENT**

Jeff, Troy's new cycling industry gig is with http://www.bikeshophub.com/, with http://www.bikebagshop.com/ being the site for bags, so he may be good to talk to again for that. I'd recommend hitting him up personally, and LMK if you need contact info again. **BRENT** Edit: If anyone is interested in anything from those guys, or wheels, e-mail: [email protected] and tell him I sent you.

Sweet! Looking forward to seeing what you guys came up with. A local friend (former Cat 2 racer) said Troy built up a pair for his younger brother when he got back into racing at a high level. Said "funny you bring up Troy..." Hope they work out for you! **BRENT**

Nooooooo!!! So sorry to hear, Shelly; was looking forward to seeing you again. I hope things get better with your situations. Brent

Love Pentatonix. Of all people, my mom sent this to me. Why did I ever get her to get internet? **BRENT**

Suck @ the first part, awesome at the second part. Pretty great that those people got arrested, if nothing else b/c it fucked with their weekend. **BRENT**

Thanks! I'm SERIOUSLY glad there are no mountains. I'm thinking "next year" for mountains... maybe. If I get a 12-30 cassette, maybe. **BRENT**

<3 you guys! **BRENT**

Awesome, Shelly, thanks! There's still plenty of time, I think 3 weeks from yesterday is when the event is. There's a flood warning until tomorrow, which is fun, but I have a couple of after-work rides planned for this week. Hopefully the weather cooperates a little better. **BRENT**

http://www.outsideonline.com/outdoor-gear/bikes-and-biking/Barely-Legal-specialized-turbo-bike.html I want one. **BRENT**

Vicki, come to Atlanta next weekend, and I'll ride with ya! It's just been dumping buckets of rain in this area all weekend, so I'm kinda bummed. I'm totally not prepared to ride in the rain, gear wise. There is a beginner ride on a quiet stretch of road on Monday that it SHOULD be dry enough to do. I'm planning on doing that, but an old racing buddy used to be into racing bikes before racing cars, so we spent a while last night talking shop and have a ride we're going to do once it quits raining. **BRENT**

Not a bad belated intro. You should try to hop in chat sometime. **BRENT** FYI: If you hop in the chat, you should talk... not hop in, have someone talk, then leave without saying anything.

Head to Wal-Mart, buy a bike, take it off, install on yours for tomorrow, then return it/donate it to some kid on the way back who looks like they could appreciate it/leave it by the dumpster saying "Free Huffy: Ride at your own risk" **BRENT** Edit: rest of the page hadn't loaded, didn't see you got it fixed. Enjoy the ride, kids.

AWESOME! Carl, let me know what you think! I really really like my Note II, but the S4 should be even faster than that. It's an interesting phone for sure. **BRENT**
-
Damn you people who think 14mph is slow! I'm not* saying it's NOT slow, but that's what I've been seeing on my rides lately. **BRENT**
-
Yeah, but I bet Nate and Ian's skill and prowess can't compete with me rearranging molecules in a tree to somehow fall through it, then land in a thorn bush. Ian, I remember that bike coming up for sale and it looking like a KILLER deal. You're going to love it! **BRENT**

I woke up and you guys had pushed me over my original goal, which seemed pretty lofty at the time. You really are a special group of people Midnight over here, and I don't have a light rig yet It's going to be pouring rain all day today, so I'm going to get out during some dry spots. A buddy of mine was leading out the Music City Marathon (Nashville) a couple hours down the road, and it just seems like it's dumping buckets on them. Bummer, but the TdC is a rain or shine event, so I guess I better train in the rain a little, just in case, no? **BRENT** Edit: So not only am I riding for friends... I found out some more stuff last night. When I originally posted this ride on Facebook, my mom posted that she was in and that it runs in the family. This was news to me, as I hadn't heard that before. Last night I was talking to my cousin, and it turns out that both of his parents AND our grandmother had diabetes. It's more of a recent thing for them, but as my grandmother was slipping away at the end, I take it that not every detail was shared with the entire family. Just goes to show that this may affect people you know, and you could have no idea.

Mmmmm... biscuits. I believe they are part of the training regimen. I suspect I shall grab a Bojangle's Cajun Filet Biscuit the day of the ride... you know, for fuel! **BRENT**
