  1. We'll probably be doing this eventually. We just didn't do it at the time we had the system installed since it was/is wee bit pricey (we need to get the backup system through the system manufacture to keep their guarantee).
  2. However compelling the story/mechanics/etc. of the games, I really haven't been able to replay most games of late. I think big part of it that I just don't spend as much time playing games as I once did. Of course, I reserve my right to change my post/opinion until I finally get around to playing CivIV.
  3. ^ Which is bit disappointing considering the sensor in D7000 is at least one-year-old at this point (and 7D is what, two-years-old at this point?). I still wonder how much bigger NEX bodies would have been if they'd included in-body stabilization, allowing for lenses to be smaller. Their lens size still kills the idea they're far more portable than other APS-C sensor interchangeable-lens cameras (not that they could ever reach the size of m4/3 lenses).
  4. Estimated 500,000 to 700,000 in Mass have either lost or still has no power as of right now. We're thankful we never lost power as we'd be dealing with a flooding right now otherwise considering our sump pump was on almost constantly yesterday.
  5. Bunch of prints of our daughter from Adormapix.
  6. I really hope this league is free to play. Watch Edwards have a career year now that we bashed him.
  7. Oops, sorry, for some reason, I keep getting Dalton and Ponder mixed up in my head. In either case, still bad choices all around (not that I make good draft choices myself, but still hope better than drafting Ponder/Kaspernick ahead of Dalton).
  8. I'm glad we're back in with 10 teams again this year - last year's HC league was the first time I had done 12 teams and it was painful. Oh, and why would anyone be drafting Braylon Edwards in the 2nd round? That's far worse than drafting Ponder or Kaspernick (assuming they were drafted in late rounds), IMO.
  9. JH13 was actually the worst offender, thus the reason I no longer have them. Koss KSC35s have been the least painful ones, so they're the ones I use if I'm watching/listening something on my laptop late at night. Otherwise, I just use my speakers for any listening I do now.
  10. I recently (okay, it's been a while at this point) developed tinnitus in one of my ears and using headphones, especially IEMs, aggravate the symptoms. I do still have my Etys to use as earplugs when I'm using loud equipment (leaf blower, etc).
  11. ^ No win situation for Bloomberg (unless, of course, things had gone as badly as some had predicted, in which case he would've been praised for his actions though left with much damaged city). Damned if you do, damned you if don't.
  12. No power outage yet, though I guess there are parts of my town that's been without power for a while now. The worst part has supposedly passed us, though it's supposed to stay wee bit windy for several more hours.
  13. That sucks, Jeff. Can you get money from the insurance and/or folks who did the said installation of the AC unit?
  14. ^ Same. I'm glad to see though that the power/severity of storm keeps getting downgraded every time they've put up a new estimate. I remember on Friday, there was still a good chance that it would still be a hurricane when it arrived in Mass - it's not even close to being that bad. And our sump pump/french drain system is working thus far in keeping the basement dry.
  15. Just saw this thread, and fuck, do I miss my Gilmore Lite V2 (not that I have headphones anymore, but still).
  16. Assuming Maclin gets up to speed by the opener, that's a pretty good starting lineup you got there, Deepak.
  17. Just came back from the New England Aquarium. There were decent number of folks at both the aquarium and Quincy market area, though probably less than usual due to Irene. Libby really enjoyed the aquarium though she was initially afraid of seals in the outside tank. Oh, and while I looked rather ridiculous with my Think Tank Digital Holster and couple of pouches, there were plenty of other parents who looked just as ridiculous with their backpack/baby carrier/etc. getup. Good to know. You just save me time and rolls of painter tapes, thanks, Shelly!
  18. So far, I've cleaned out the yard of items that could come crushing through the windows, at least the ones I could move/carry. Now I'm going to put masking tape on the damn windows.
  19. ^ I read that as "at my MILF's place." Stay safe, Dinny. We're mostly papered for the worst (still need to move few things in the basement bit higher or out of it) but hoping all the prepping will be for naught.
  20. Yet another center pinch lens cap since I ordered a wrong size before. This wouldn't be happening if Canon would just start using center pinch lens caps. Also bought some water and groceries to prepare for the impending doom.
  21. Unfortunately, it's too frickin' wet from the ~6 inches of rain that has already fallen this month. On a more serious note, I need to get some more food/water in the house tomorrow. I'm sure grocery stores won't be filled with people like me.
  22. Yeah, it's not looking too good. We're hoping that all the damn trees in our yard as well as the ones in the state forest next to our house won't fall.
