  1. One lens that autofocuses accurately with one camera body may not be as accurate with another body (even of same model) due to manufacturing tolerances for both lens and body. Before AF micro adjustment became a fairly common feature, the only way for you to get a particular lens to autofocus perfectly (or as close to it) with a particular body was to send them both in to their manufacture to get them calibrated. I say send it in to Sigma to get the lens calibrated, with the camera if you can afford to be without it for a while.
  2. Took our daughter to New England Aquarium (again). She definitely enjoyed the fishes and whatnot, but we need to come back in warmer weather so she can see their seal training sessions, which is done outside. At least we can get in for free for another year or so.
  3. ^ Argh, that sucks Nate. I hope they get well quickly.
  4. I'd be happy with just a D700. Maybe the introduction of D800 will do wonders to used price for D700 (I doubt it), not that I could afford most nice Nikon lenses. Speaking of lenses, Canon just introduced 24-70/2.8 II along with new 24/2.8, and 28/2.8 - last two with image stabilization. Why they felt the need to add image stabilization to new 24 and 28 is beyond me.
  5. By keeping it m4/3, Olympus doesn't have to develop a separate lens/accessory lineup just for the OM-D line and can just point to already fairly well established lens lineup. Also, it avoids alienating their existing customer base that has invested in the 4/3 system.
  6. ^ If you want to just watch something that is saved on MBA on your TV, there's AppleTV. If you are looking use your TV as an external monitor, direct connection with a cable (like that one you linked) is probably the easiest/cheapest solution.
  7. Mostly for Ohio or Michigan residents.
  8. ^ Nice. I just looked for it in Amazon and I see the price for body-only stayed at $1699 - was hoping it would be lower. I'll be impatiently waiting to see how the AF speed/accuracy fares on the production units. I don't need a blazing AF speed (the one on my current camera isn't that fast anyways) but wouldn't want it to be so slow/inaccurate that it hinders using the camera, especially since it's been reported manually focusing with it will be as painful as it is on X100.
  9. I wish we can file ours now, but we're still waiting on few more paperworks (as usual), then gotta make an appointment with our tax lady (I no longer do it myself since it's wee bit complicated with crap-load of paperwork now with retirements/investments/etc).
  10. Oh, it's relatively new, then. The last time we were at their store, it was still at the southbound side. We may try it tomorrow if our new mattress gets delivered in timely manner.
  11. ^ Didn't realize "When Pigs Fly" had a restaurant. I love their bread and we try to stop by at their store when we're near there.
  12. ^ I saw those earlier. It also looks like that they've finally added a multi-controller joystick on battery grip. My guess is it's 5D3 (or whatever it will be called) since there appears to be no pop-up flash on the body.
