  1. Congrats on your new amp! What cans are you going to be using with it?
  2. The posts about noise and buzzing that I had spotted amongst "This is the best ever!" posts were the reason I ultimately decided not to get one. Damn, I miss my Mini-DAC and ECD1.
  3. I actually got the table and phono stage (along with some IC's and few accessories) through a trade for my KGSS. Gingko does make a nice looking dust cover, but mine's not made by Gingko. I found an eBay auction for it by chance and won the auction - the original owner of the dust cover had it made by a local plastic shop. Few folks in the Audio Asylum has had success in having a local shops make one for them. Defintiely not as nice as Gingko ones, but a lot cheaper (Gingko dust cover for Scout starts at $240 new, IIRC).
  4. So here's what I ended up with, along with ARC PH3 phono stage. I have Grado Gold cartridge on it right now while I save up for something better down the road. I plan on heading to a local used vinyl store soon.
  5. Nice. I should be catching up on the episodes in few days - the benefit of having a friend with a TiVo. Which's from one my favorite sketch they've done.
  6. Agreed. I do need to catch up on the second season episodes, though.
  7. Woohoo!
  8. Second that notion, since Justin has also mentioned that he's not planning on offering both modules once he rolls out the new modules.
  9. I kind of want to grab one, though I'd have no use for it. It doesn't help that I don't have any high impedance headphones.
  10. Kevin (or anyone else), Any idea how good (or bad) this stuff is? http://www.mouser.com/index.cfm?handler=displayproduct&lstdispproductid=460942&e_categoryid=111&e_pcodeid=66315
  11. But no green pair, Alex?
  12. McIntosh meters sure do look pertty, though. I love their blue displays.
  13. Man, I'm envious. So you're brinking that behemoth to the next area meet, right?
  14. Damn! How much does that beast weigh? Do I dare ask the total cost?
  15. I don't know how I missed that bit when I first read your post, but now I'm looking forward to that! I remember that NAD player, though I think when I heard it a while back, it hadn't been modded yet.
  16. Maybe if someone would buy the damn Stax rig, I'll get to go vinyl. Or perhaps I'll just keep the rig if I keep getting low-ball offers. LOL.
  17. Wait, you're finally going to have a digital source again, too? Damn, what is this world coming to?
  18. Brown eggs are local eggs and local eggs are fresh eggs. Today's post is brought you by numbers 13 and 666. Ethan, here's hoping you get your Denon back soon so we can have another get together.
  19. Yeah, that scared me off of SACD 1000 when I was looking at it a while back. Glad to hear you haven't had any problem with yours, though.
  20. That's a great news, Ethan! Maybe pick up another Exemplar off of Audiogon? They show up there often for a great price, but I think you knew that already. You know, your misfortunes (and Nate's) with sources are making me want get myself a backup source as well. (knocks on wood)
  21. Ethan, I love your new custom title, btw.
  22. Okay, so I did the math wrong, the price range probably would be around $3K. My head wasn't working too well from working too hard.
  23. No problem on modded or used player, though I think I'd rather get it new.
  24. If I do go digital upgrade route, I'd probably have about $4K to 4.5K. Still, the lure of the vinyl is still strong, especially after talking to few vinyl folks. I hate this hobby.
