  1. I don't remember seeing one either here or over on HF, but it is entirely possible that I've simply missed it. The one problem I see with doing this comparison is that there are entirely too many different permutations of ES-1, with 101 customizable options. I guess one could use a "stock" ES-1, assuming such a beast even exists.
  2. Yep, it's a Flexy - second one actually. It's time to put another coat on.

  4. Additional coats applied and drying. I might apply more Danish oil later, but I should be able to put the rack together sometime tomorrow. The oil doesn't look as uneven in person - camera's flash makes it more obvious.
  5. New MDF boards cut, drilled, lightly sanded (not as much as I should've - I'm lazy), and first coat of Danish oil applied. I think I need to go get more Danish oil before I'm done.
  6. Man, that looks like it was fun, Nate. It's pics like that makes me feel glad that I don't own a home yet. And remembering from shoveling my parents' deck when I was younger, shoveling on wood can be deadly.
  7. With week and half off from work (and at least half of those days off actually free), I'm planning on taking apart my audio rack, finish the shelves, then expand the rack one way or another. Wish me luck.
  8. That'll start to smell bad quickly, though, unless, of course, you cryo them first.
  9. *Looks around, knocks on every wood in the apartment.* I don't need anything broken, my Wii just came back from repair, for crying out loud.
  10. Don't have that (HD-DVD player) either. I really wish they'd just hurry up and figure out which one's staying for good. It appears that you can't get a 5-disc version in regular DVD unless you get the Ultimate Collector's Edition and pay $80. EDIT - Okay, so it's (Ultimate Collector's Edition) $55 from Amazon, but it's still more than $30 for 5-disc Blu-Ray or HD-DVD.
  11. Damnit, Todd, I didn't need any temptation to get a Blue-Ray player/PS3!
  12. Some DACs in your price point - keep in mind this is not a suggestion, but merely a list of DACs - Ack! dAck2.0 (used) - CIAudio VDA2 (used) - Promitheusaudio Solid State DAC
  13. Man, sorry to hear that Ian. Next time it snows heavily, you should 'boot' his car beforehand so he won't be able to move at all. On a related note, it took me about little under two hours to shovel my car out earlier. As I was shoveling, I saw few folks getting yelled/lectured by the town's public works folks for shoveling snow from their driveway on to the street.
  14. ixnay on acetone - it may dissolve your battery compartment if it's plastic. Sorry about that - I completely forgot that bit about acetone.
  15. Acetone, maybe? The only time I've had to clean a battery compartment, I took the compartment out of the item, so I just washed it out and let it dry for few days.
  16. I just finished watching Tin Man. It definitely got silly (not in a good way) near the end. Now watching Patriots game and wondering why there's no snow there.
  17. Ahh, good point, Nate. I had forgotten that it's turning into sleet/freezing rain in the afternoon. Any excuse to delay the shoveling is welcome.
  18. It's been coming down steadily for a while here, about 30 miles west of Boston. I really should go out and shovel some.
  19. Welcome to head-case, Nenso.
  20. I remember Return to Oz being really creepy as well. I haven't seen it in a long time, though. As for what I'm watching, I'm watching more snow accumulate on my car.
  21. How are you liking (or not) it? I've seen the first two parts so far and I like it, save for the commercial breaks that seem to happen every five minutes. I think I would've given up on watching it if it weren't for DVR.
  22. That's a pretty kick-ass penguin, Stephen. You should have small metal plates of the penguin made to stick on your amps.
  23. I've always hated that bit about ready-made computers. My iMac came with 1GB of memory, but it was with two 512MB modules. I've since maxed out the memory, so now I have two 512MB modules sitting on my desk doing nothing.
