  1. So on this note, anyone getting theirs modded? Of course, I think RAM is the only place modifying them.
  2. Yep. And thanks for the reminder - I had forgotten to get the new version.
  3. Yeah, but don't they still require Windows OS? I don't have those discs anymore either.
  4. If you just want to convert it to another format, dbPowerAmp is probably easier. In either case, dbPowerAmp is an indispensable tool for Windows.
  5. Cool, thanks for the info. I've been thinking of having them make me a badge with "β22" on it for my amp. Of course, I need to get me some access to Windows machine for the FPE software, now that I only Mac machines.
  6. For me, it wasn't that it was too bright, as I can handle bright, but the sound was harsh and grating for me. This was with bowls, though.
  7. Sorry to thread-jack, but Nate, did you have FPE make that name plate on your first Beta22? (the one that said "Nugget Audio", IIRC).
  8. Cool. I guess if your mods can tame 325's, it'll be up to task for 225's. The last time I listened to 225's, they tried to puncture my eardrums with their harshness. I'm not sure if it was just that pair, but man, it was brutal.
  9. Which model did you get? 325? Gotta get me some Grados again soon. Maybe if the table sells.
  10. Dew eet. They make the cans so much more comfortable. I like mine, but they haven't been getting use of late since I got myself blue tri-flange tips for my Etys. I (re)purchased K271 to use at home/computer when I needed isolation since inserting (and taking out) semi-frequently Etys was too much of hassle. Blue tri-flange tips changed all that as they are so much easier to insert than regular tri-flanges. As such, K271 now sits getting not much use.
  11. Which reminds me, there was a M3 that got donated for the silent auction at the second to last Boston/NE meet. I'm still regretting not snatching that one up.
  12. Weird. Your link takes me to "Sorry no matches" page.
  13. But then you'd have to find connectors that fits just right, or make bigger holes.
  14. For color options, probably. As for functional options, it's either with or without USB DAC.
  15. Size: 2x2.74x0.86" Maker: HeadAmp.com Color: Ask Justin for the available options. Here's the info/pre-order thread over on HF. http://www.head-fi.org/forums/f38/headamp-pico-portable-amp-w-optional-upsampling-24-96-usb-dac-pre-order-thread-258967/
  16. That too. We need to have a mini-meet so I can bring the amp to you, or maybe I'll just send it.
  17. Join the club. Dew eeet! I may pick up an Aleph clone to tide me over till my amp arrive.

  19. I still want to get the 80gig version just so I can still play PS2 games. It would be annoying needing to have both PS2 and PS3 on my TV stand.
  20. BTW, Todd, how is the PS3 as a Blu-Ray player? It's likely I'll end up picking one up at some point, especially when more interesting games in Japan becomes available (I love that Blu-ray region coding is same for US and Japan).
  21. What is the cheapest Blu-Ray player now-a-days? Is it still the cheaper/crappier PS3 model at $399?
  22. Annoyingly, the Code doesn't work on Contra 4.
  23. Sorry to hear this, Dan. I once had my cell phone stolen, and the thief called my mother later in that day (she was on my contacts with her name, not as "Mom"). My mom picked up, and at this point aware that my phone's been stolen, proceeded to berate the thief until he hang up.
  24. I share your sentiments, sir. Oh, and nice looking cables you got there.
