Glad to see it's worked out, Nate. Silver or black? EDIT - Also bought couple of things from Despair, Inc.
-
Shun 7" Santoku for the girl - the same one Reks bought.

VG-10 stainless steel is clad with 16 layers of SUS410 high-carbon steel on each side, producing a 33-layer rust-free Damascus look. VG-10 is a fantastic knife steel, IME.

Very nice, Reks. We have few Shun knives and we love them.

Glad to hear the ear's clearing up, Stephen.

How has your rig changed in 2007? And do you have any future plans?

Wait, Nate's actually working on his own gear? Sorry, couldn't resist. Okay, back to work. -

IIRC, Concerto is a dynamic/stat combo amp. I can't remember what Acccent-T is, though, maybe a tube rectified PS? -

Noting some early changes of 2008, mostly so I can keep track of them... - I sold the vinyl rig (Scout, Vanguard II, HW-16.5). Will most likely pick up a more modest rig once I have an house, which hopefully will be happening before the summer. - Bought a pair of buttonless RS-1. - Sold K701. -
Happy birthday!

Now listening to an audiobook version of Dearly Devoted Dexter.

Inexpensive, but decent, CD transport with AES/EBU
Salt Peanuts replied to philodox's topic in Home Source Components
Not a suggestion, but just fyi - HiFiDiy.net transport that Vince built (and subsequently owned by thrice) had AES/EBU output, and the full kit cost $400, IIRC. You may want to ask them how it performed. When I checked it out at a meet, it definitely seem to be solidly built, with nice remote. -
I like K271 with velour pads. Unlike some other "closed" cans, they do actually block sound coming in and going out. They're bit hard to drive, though. Also, if you are looking for bass quantity, I'd look elsewhere.

I put on my bomb suit as I plug RS-1 into B22....

I meant Jon Stewart.

Double stuffed Oreos. Yes, I know it's 10 in the morning.

Happy birthday and have a great one!
-
oh, and as for the last things I've bought - some bread recipe book and America by Jon Steward from B&N's bargain bin.
-
Tubes? So you've decided to build yourself a Blue Hawaii?
-
Agreed. Methinks they should have used darker wood/materials all around. The new black SR-007 MkII, OTOH, looks fantastic.

HEAUDIO 1.3 stat phone, IIRC.

Well, I hadn't actually said anything about the power supply before so you haven't missed anything. Before Zerosurge, the power supply hummed a bit - not all that loud, but I could definitely hear it if I was sitting near my rack (and with limited background noise). With Zerosurge, I can't hear the hum unless I put my ear right next to the power supply.
