  1. Well, the game is finally coming out tomorrow (at least in US). Anyone here getting one?
  2. Renato - sorry about the headband. I'm guessing I didn't realize it since I have a pretty huge head. Let me know if there's anything I can do.
  3. It's rain, rain, and more rain around here this weekend. It let up this morning, but it started again around lunch time.
  4. Details from the home inspection.
  5. Looking nice, Earl. I especially like the wood rod stoppers. I wonder how RS-1 would look with them and brown leather headband.
  6. Ah, I was wondering why you had your gain at around 3 o'clock in your pic. Fortunately, both of my gain controls are working fine so far - even though I just realized that I can take the metal shaft that connects knob to the pot out of the pot. Yeah, I think the amp is bit too dense and heavy not to have a good fitted packaging. Maybe my local Container Store will have something suitable as I'd need to pack it up in few weeks when I move.
  7. That's a bummer, Mike. I guess it's also something for me to keep in mind, in case I need to send mine in to him for a service. You know, the look left gain control does bother me a bit (I can pull it out a little) - though I doubt I'll care as much once I have everything set up in few weeks. Oh, and I didn't realize that the amp doesn't have an on/off switch - good thing that my Zerosurge unit comes with both always-on and switched outlets.
  8. Thanks, I'll keep that in mind. I'll see if I can convince certain someone to help me out soon.
  9. Me, too, and I can't wait to find out how it pairs with Eminent Tech LFT-8b's that I should be getting in few weeks. Before that, I need to have speaker wires made with skinny spades as the speaker taps are pretty small. I also need to get a new box for it since I highly doubt I can pack it back into the boxes in which it was shipped (it was packed well, though). Maybe a wood crate or something sturdy like that. I hope you get yours back soon, Mike.
  10. It looks just like Mike's - http://www.head-case.org/off_topic/the_perennial_favorite_post_a_pic_of_your_rig-t770.0.html;msg102821#msg102821 Sorry, I'm being lazy tonight.
  11. My McIntosh MC2100 arrived! As Mike has stated, it is deceptively heavy and I wasn't really prepared for the weight when I tried to pick up the box. It's in a very good cosmetic condition and look great (the left attenuator is bit loose, but I won't be using it so it doesn't really matter). I've hooked it up to my TV speakers (Epos ELS3) and everything seems to be working just fine.
  12. That's a good show. It's one of few NPR podcasts that I listen on regular basis.
  13. Yeah, but that's no different than regular FedEx, where they only deliver from M-F - if you're not there on Friday, you have to wait till Monday. My biggest gripe with FedEx Home Delivery is the near impossibility in picking up an item on which I missed the attempted delivery.
  14. Yeah, I hate FedEx Home Delivery, too, except for the fact that they make Saturday deliveries as part of regular service.
  15. A pair of Eminent Technology LFT-8b's with Sound Anchor stands. Okay, so technically, I haven't bought them yet since they're on backorder, but the order has been placed.
  16. I've personally never had any courier services damage packages shipped to me, or ones I've shipped. They have, however, managed to outright lose few things I've bought over the years. Thankfully, in all of those occasions, dealers came through and just sent me replacements.
  17. My thought exactly - think of how much storage space one could buy for the cost of 1TB Ripserver. Speaking of which, I really need to get off my lazy butt and order myself a 1TB external drive.
  18. Dude, sorry to hear about your troubles. Speaking of UPS, I really hope my amp makes it here safe and sound.
  19. Yay for fresh install! Incidentally, how are you liking the touch? I've been tempted, mostly to use as a PDA, since using Palm with Mac is bit of a pain, though $500 price tag is bit high.
  20. I was thinking about grabbing the Focal Chorus floorstanders that were on A'gon, but they were sold before I got to them, good thing since they were bit out of my budge at this point. Incidentally, it appears my listening room/area will be fairly small at either 14X12 or 16X12, which will probably limit the speakers I could use. So aside from Reks, has anyone heard Thiel 1.6?
  21. Assuming new stuff - www.musicdirect.com www.elusivedisc.com
  22. That sounds about right, and yes, that is a mini-meet range.
  23. Thanks guys. I'll be moving to Townsend, MA, which is about 19 miles southwest of Nashua. It's out in nowhere area, but that's just the way we like it.
  24. Well, there are few more things to go through (e.g., inspection, actual finance approval) but we just signed the P&S for a house. The closing is in few weeks and assuming everything goes as planned, we'll have our own house!
