Gerber E-Z-Out is a very good pocket knife, especially considering the price. IME, hole opener is far more comfortable than a stud-opener.
I'm a big fan of Spyderco knives, but I don't think they have any knife at your price point.
Did some laundry and got some nice listening session in with the new setup. Just finished raking the front yard - it took a lot longer than we were expecting. I'll have to rake the backyard next week.

The first problem sounds like microphonic tubes. Something like this may help. Herbie's Audio Lab: Tube Dampers
The second problem may be a bad tube - try leaving it on for couple of hours with the current tubes to see if it happens again.
