  1. If you ever decides to sell the MC2100, let me know. Too bad I'm not local, though my best friend do live in Atlanta.
  2. I just realized that I've had his SR-Ω/T2 website bookmarked for couples of years and never went to his DIY stat page. As for his CNC machine, the thing costs ~$8K. Purchased mainly to make his own stats.
  3. I've quickly looked through the rest of his blog, but didn't find anything about the aluminum reinforcement specific to the Omega hybrid. However, seeing some pics of what he's made himself, I've feeling he made the mentioned aluminum reinforcement himself. http://image.space.rakuten.co.jp/lg01/01/0000388901/02/imgf8deb06duxyg8s.jpeg http://image.space.rakuten.co.jp/lg01/01/0000388901/86/img6517e260vgww57.jpeg
  4. Dew eet. I'll be expecting pics.
  5. Quick and dirty translation - please ignore the grammatical errors. ------------------------------- Three Omega Brothers It has been a really long time since I’ve posted about Stax. This is how I occasionally charge up the backup pars of Omegas that are kept in strage. From the left, everyday use, backup pair 1, and backup pair 2. Of course, the best sounding pair is the backup pair 2 (LOL). The everyday use pair has been reinforced with aluminum, but about 5 years ago, the drivers were replaced with 007 drivers in the repair and its sound/response is slow and is inferior to the Omegas on the right. When you are into audio for a long time, your opinions and taste often changes, and my opinion in regards to repaired Omega is one of them. I remember writing in the past that I preferred the sound of repaired Omega (w/ 007 drivers) but my opinion is complete opposite now. In any case, with earspeakers, there are differences in sound even among the same models – real clear differences beyond mind playing tricks (LOL). As they age, the imbalance between left and right tend to get increase, and the difference between “good” pair and “bad” pair also increases. But once you listen to a “good” pair in optimal condition, you probably won’t be able to let go of the stats sound. Sitting next to the T2 is a first generation Lambda Pro. I’ve listened to over 10 different pairs from the Lambda series, including used 404’s I’ve bought, but the Lambda Pro pictured is a “good” pair and it’s the only Lambda I haven’t let go.
  6. Damnit. I'm saving for ESP950, I'm saving for ESP950....
  7. Unfortunately, I'm a teacher (year around, actually) and so is my fiancee. It'll be nigh-impossible for both of us to get time off in early Nov/Dec. That and I've been advised to avoid most rides due to possible recurrence of vertigo. I still like going to amusement park for horrible amusement park food, though.
  8. I don't like flying and I don't like crowds. Thankfully for me, I've never had a desire to go to Disney. Of course, I'm sure I'll eventually get to go once I have my own kid.
  9. Yes. And of course, if you haven't pulled the trigger by the next time I see you, I'll have a Pico DAC so I can just push you off the edge. Helping Dave use up his hard-earned money since 2005.
  10. Got mine today. I haven't opened them, though. EDIT - I just opened them. They look decent enough, though outside shell does flex a bit. And I just got an e-mail telling they've been shipped.
  11. Wait, don't you already own a tube tester Nate or is this your second (or third) tube tester?
  12. I can sympathize as my seasonal allergies have been getting progressively worse the past few years. I've been taking Zyrtec D this season as other over the counter meds just are not working for me anymore.
  13. John Coltrane - Blue Train (Analogue Productions 45rpm needledrop)
  14. Went a big Boy Scout yard sale in center of the town with high hopes but came home empty handed. I think yard sales in general has been going down hill thanks to eBay and craigslist.
  15. Forty or so 4" planters from IKEA for our wedding.
  16. Buena Vista Social Club - At Carnegie Hall
