  1. We already have a Harmony, and my wife likes it very much (she hated that we had, at one point, 5 or 6 remotes sitting on a coffee table). The problem still lies in that I haven't seen a power amp that can be turned on/off via remote. HT rig has been mentioned and she wasn't exactly enamored with the idea of adding more speakers into the living room and doubt my current budget would allow for a decent HT rig. As for a headphone rig, that's what I use the JH13 for, though I still need to get off my sick and lazy butt to send them back for a refit.
  2. I recently moved my speakers into the living room to be used with our TV so we can open up the room I had been using as the listening room. With no HT in the future, I
  3. AVR600 looks real nice, though I doubt I'll ever find one priced that low. Now that I've looked around a bit, preamp or integrated w/ DAC that has remote control is rather lacking - at least in my budget.
  4. The absolute max on the budget for the whole thing (i.e., if I go separates) is $2100, but less is always better. The speakers are rated for 75w to 200w at 8ohm, but closer to 200w, the better.
  5. Well, the Mrs wasn’t too enamored with the idea of adding more speakers into the living room, so I’m basically back to square one (and contend with just adding a sub). I was looking at receivers since it would’ve been most convenient for the Mrs after it had been set up (one thing to turn one, no need to remember the on/off order, remote controls everything, and etc.). Let’s see if I can go find a nice integrated or pre with nice DAC built-in for not too much.
  6. Digging up an old thread here a bit, but has anyone here had a chance to listen/use STR-DA6400ES or STR-DA5400ES receiver? I'm looking for either a good pre/pro or receiver for my HT rig now that my ModWright preamp has been sold. I was initially thinking of going with Emotiva's new pre/pro (& a power amp) but it appears that it won't be available until January or later unless you were on the pre-order list (which I'm not).
  7. I love that all of your solutions have been for me to get fatter. I'm bit overweight as is, I don't need to gain more weight.
  8. Been drinking Scotch, and also been turning in early lately so I hadn't noticed.
  9. Speaking of beer, I haven't had one in a while. Unfortunately, I can't remedy that fact as my fridge appears to be devoid of beer.
  10. Well, mine's going back for a re-fit. After wearing them for extended periods of time, I've found that the right earpiece isn't just fitting tight enough.
  11. x2. Any excuse not to exercise is welcome here.
  12. Possibly - the whole house is in bit of a flux (and a mess) right now as I just moved my main speakers into living room and I need to figure out exactly where I'm putting the small Epos speakers.
  13. Jebus Stretch, how many vinyls have you bought in the last month?
  14. Let's just say that I'm not missing the headphone rigs I sold to get this and I'm enjoying it about as much as my speaker rig - the convenience factor really cannot be overstated. I'd like to try them out with the Pico Slim, as I do get hiss from both iPod and the built-in amp on Duet and the lack of range in volume is bit annoying.
  15. Thanks - we've already found a couple that we like. Now I just need to figure out how much we actually need.
  16. Cabinets, cabinet handles, flooring, and a sink bowl for our kitchen. Next up: a stove/oven, hood, faucets, and backsplash.
