I'll eventually get some cheapo stands to raise/angle them up a bit since they're just sitting on my desk right now.

Me likey, Nate. They actually sound better than I was expecting (especially for such small speakers) and so far, Mr. Zevon and Ms. Spektor have come through nice and clear.

Was listening to Warren Zevon - Excitable Boy. Now listening to Regina Spektor - Far

Just finished setting up a pair of Boston Acoustics bookshelves I bought from Nate with my ancient NAD receiver at work. Now I don't have to use crappy iPod dock speakers at work!
-
I also tried out Doug's TakeT that Deepak brought along. I liked how they sounded well enough (out of my ancient NAD receiver), but the headband/support gave me headache after only 10 minutes or so of listening.

I'm sure he has an apron so how about just substituting the wifebeater with it?

The meet was fun and it was great to connect few faces to their screen name. I didn't do much listening, save for Al's FET amp and Pico Slim - I really enjoyed both of them and I'm happy I'll have a Pico Slim soon enough. I also listened to Stretch's OII through WES and was overcome by the usual "what in the fuck was I thinking?" in regards to selling off my OII & KGSS DX. Oh, and 404LE were bit of a surprise in a good way and they are much prettier in Dusty color scheme than the original's puke brown color scheme.

Happy Belated Birthday! I hope you had a great one!

If it makes you feel any better, while going around in circles trying to find a parking spot at the next destination, I got lost. I had to turn into a side street to avoid getting crushed by another car and the stupid side street happens to be one-way and my GPS had already died at that point. Predictably, I proceeded to get lost after a series of one-way streets and other odd traffic quirks of Boston & its surrounding areas. I would've called the guys except only numbers I had on my phones were the folks who had already bailed at this point. I eventually found myself near highway that allowed me to get back home (but not to the drinking establishment). Methinks my already poor sense-of-direction has deteriorated since I started using a GPS.

Nice, Stretch, nice.

I'll have my MacBook (probably along with external HD) so you can use that one. Just look for an Asian guy with shaved/closely-cropped head and glasses.

OK, I'll just pack the Philips player in the car then.
-
Deepak, I just checked my Philips 963 and it works, so I can bring that and the Audiosector DAC if you want.
-
I've also got an Audiosector DAC I can bring. I'll go check and see if my Philips player in the closet is working fine or not.

Happy Birthday!

What Nate said, though I'll probably get there bit before 11am.

That's good to know. Not that I will be getting any of them anytime soon as I want to grow (so to speak) with the 35mm, but any opinions on 50mm F/1.4 (or 1. or 85mm F/1.8?
