The "seller" just contacted me saying the bag is authentic (what else is he going to say?) and he'll refund me only if I return the bag and it is unused (i.e., in unopened packaging with no removed tags).
The bag is obviously not in unused condition, and there's no chance in hell I'm going pay shipping to return the fake bag to him and trust that he's going to refund me.
Just got home and sure enough, the basement is flooded. Thankfully, it's only 2-3 inches at this point so unless it gets drastically worse, it's manageable with pumps I already have. I can't wait till the basement is waterproofed in a month.
I remember my step-father doing something similar with a laser printer few years back. I don't remember the brand or model, but the particular printer came with 2 toners and it was cheaper for him to buy a whole new printer (w/ 2 included toners) than to just buy 2 new toners. At one point, he had three of these printers.
Thanks. I've already filed a dispute with PayPal as well as eBay. Then proceeded to report every single one of the counterfeiter's listing to eBay.
EDIT - Crumpler USA told me that they've notified eBay as well as BBB regarding the counterfeiter.
Yes, for the most part. Except that the reason I was contacting Crumpler in the first place was for possible repair/replacement as I noticed couple of spots where stitching was coming undone (which I had attributed it being a rare occasion in which it went past their QC). I figured I'd just contact Crumpler USA since they're a lot closer than the seller/counterfeiters.
Crumpler even told me that it is "one of the more clever knock offs" they've encountered (they bought one from the counterfeiter and got one today).
Serves me right for buying one on eBay and neglecting to check if the seller is an authorized dealer.
This. Which is why I'm interested in the Rockwell drills for their lifetime battery replacement program, but the one drill I found was ~$280 and that's more than I want to spend right now.
No flooding in the basement yet when I left for work this morning, though I could see some seeping at the corner where walls meet the floors. I suspect there will be some water down there when I get home.
Imagine the mess if this happened to Reks' basement.
