  1. I found a 58mm Canon 500D close-up lens in wife's old camera bag, so I put it on 75-300mm and tried it out. The result was full of operator errors. First, it took me a while to figure out the rather narrow focusing distance range. Then, after figuring out the said range, I couldn't keep my hand steady enough or use high enough shutter speed to get any decent close-up pics. A nice stable tripod would've been nice, I think. I may try it out on 85mm f/1.8 (another lens I have with 58mm filter size) as I may get a better result with a lighter lens.
  2. This is the place - Kimball Farm. The place have few other things, but the big thing is their ice cream, mini-golf, and bumper boats. All the guests got to use just about all of the entertainment for free. EDIT - We didn't get married ON the mini-golf course, but we do have few pics of us on the course.
  3. Went to the local ice cream/mini-golf place where we got married last year to grab some ice cream. They have a seafood shack so we ended up eating dinner there as well. Got to take some pics while there. My wife told me that as I was taking a picture in a contorted body position, a couple walked by and the man quipped to the woman, "look, he's as bad as you are!"

  5. Took wife's malfunctioning EOS3 to a local repair shop get it checked out. They gave us a rough eatimate of $300 (mostly labor) so we just took back the camera. Now I'm at a mall avoiding the Apple store.
  6. Took off the chair rails off the dining room walls and patched up the said walls. I had been putting off taking them off for a while since doing so meant patching up the walls, sanding them, putting another coat of plaster up, then painting them.
  7. No one is forcing you buy any headphones. If you don't like the way a company operates, don't deal with it.
  8. Canon EF 17-40 F4L Lens (Boston craigslist) Pretty good price. I wish I had the money for it.

  10. Shun Ken Onions knives are good knives, though some doesn't like the handle shape and/or offset nature of it. I like them, but we went with the classic lineup as Ken Onion ones are more expensive. FYI, knives come with free sharpening for life.
