  1. I did something similar to the Vortexbox, but Windows. I bought an inexpensive Lenovo ThinkCentre M53 Micro PC. Because I'm using it near my regular computers, I just hooked it up via a 15' KVM cable to my existing KVM. It has wireless capability, but I did run ethernet to it. Loaded JRiver, and I can use the PC to access JRiver (which also supports some streaming services), PC again to go on web or do other services, and JRemote via the iPad. USB to my Auralic Vega then to the KGSS-HV Mini. I moved out my Auralic Aries, will probably sell it off. EDIT: it can connect and run from my NAS, though I did also put a 2TB portable drive on it. Even when i had my Sony HAP Z1ES in that same spot (easily accessible from my couch), I found myself using the iPad for navigation; just much better. The Sony has easy to use front panel controls and a decent but small screen. I guess more understanding of the situation in which you want to use it is needed. Will there be access to a network (wired or wireless)? How close will you be to it? What outputs - digitial to DAC, analog to amp, etc? I don't know of any great product that can do it all well. As Tyll said, the Cocktail Audio is fugly to use; I've heard the Olives have some glitches as well, maybe more on their lower models; other models may just not sound as good.
  2. All of the above! RIP to a Human Being.
  3. Happy Birthday!
  4. Cool, where was that Haj? Almost sounds like Kimball Farms (except the arcade?).... And Jacob: smart move. Lessening stress is a good thing.
  5. Nah, THIS is an ironic seqway (sorry to be spelling police, this just struck me funny)
  6. RIP Chris Squire. And can't believe they aren't in the HOF....always assumed they were!
  7. Recover well! Had hernia surgery (for a hernia I didn't know I even had! never hurt, found on exam) when i was 21, recovery time was quick then. Hope it goes well for you.
  8. That being England, was there a Plan B? Regardless, good luck!
  9. Happy Birthday Justin!
  10. All of the above, glad it was found and treated; good not to ignore it!
  11. RIP Mr. Steed....
  12. Good luck CJ & Julie, glad it was caught now.....as others said/implied, better than later!
  13. I was referring to the "4 times a year for 9 years" line. I imagine over 20 years they and other companies have changed the pesticide..... But who knows, roaches are great grandchildren of the devil so maybe they DO adapt...... (EDIT: not that being related to the devil means faster adaptation....I just needed something stupidly profound to say about roaches)
  14. He planted the roach....I know it! Obviously, no bug expert, but I don't think that kind of resistance can be built up that quickly. I think it'd need to be a much larger scale & population.....
  15. RIP James Horner and Dick Van Patten. And RIP to the inventor of the plastic pink flamingo, Don Featherstone.... Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
  16. Happy Fathers Day to all dads! Celebrating at my dad's, good time with family and friends
  17. Happy Birthday!
  18. Or, Post-Corn Hole biscuit.....
  19. Nate, up until last year I never realized there was a game called that.....my reaction was similar when I heard it referenced.
  20. Great stuff! Is it too early in the relationship to ask if she makes biscuits? Glad you had a good time!
  21. ^^ Gene said it. My heart wanted Tampa Bay, but my brain felt it was going to be Chicago. Congrats on another great cup win!
  22. Took Andrew driving (he got his learner's permit a couple weeks ago), 3rd time and first in some minor traffic (side roads and grocery store parking lot). He's done alright on smaller, empty parking lot driving. This was pretty good, too....
  23. Indeed, this. And thumbs up for some nice pics Nate, though thumbs down to a failed test.....
  24. RIP to two greats from different parts of the entertainment tracks....
