I see what you did there.... Does sound very interesting. And while Jude cannot be called impartial, even for him to gush like that I would say means it's well beyond simply good -
Whoa....glad you are OK, and glad to hear no injuries overall.....

After dropping Andrew off for work, Karen and I went up to Lake Massabesic in Machester NH. Several trails, and a nice day to spend with a nice view. Took the long way home and peeked at lots of colorful leaves.

Happy Birthday Iain, make the bonfire big and you'll have plenty of company (thinking firefighters mostly, but they can wish you happy birthday too)

Weird day today.... Comcast was completely out, and when it came back, still had to go to basement and reset the phone router. Did some productive things, laundry and got the enclosed deck/porch ready for winter. it figures it gets to ~75 degrees when i chose to do this! Then, while watching the Bruins lose again, I get a call from my mom. She was on the way down with my brother and sister-in-law from a weekend at their condo in NH. A truck rear-ended them. Everyone thankfully OK, but shaken up. Stuck at the scene a while, but made it back here where my mom had left her car. Briother's SUV will need some good work, but it held up OK and thankfully kept everyone safe. Then driving with Andrew. He kind of regressed at first, tentative and over-doing some things; but settled in. We'll cap it off with dinner ordered in, one of Andrew's favorites. I'll join you Dusty in the "bit fried" status....need to chill tonight. Got a bottle of Mead yesterday I'm going to try for dessert.

Wow, great stretch Bryan. I had to count the Isles' players to make sure it wasn't a power play! Bruins are looking ugly still, but you can see a bit of hope that this won't be a season without ANY wins. Definitely a rebuilding year, and our prospect pool is getting filled pretty well.

So sad, and so sorry Wayne.....RIP Joe.

No offense taken, Bryan. I called him immature as well (though I said "a bit" and you're probably more accurate). Loved Lucic when he was "on," not so much when he did stupid shit like that. And he was doing that more recently, especially during/after the Habs beat the Bruins in the playoffs two years ago. EDIT: BTW, Lucic was probably pissed that the intended recipient ducked down and (in Lucic's eyes, not mine) undercut Lucic. That's considered "bad code" in some aspects. Brad Marchand did the same thing to one of the Sedin brothers back in 2011. He was trying to avoid a hit, but it was potentially dangerous in and of itself. That said, my thought is good for you if you duck the hit, as long as you don't purposefully try to flip the other guy over. Marchand was borderline doing that, the guy who did it to Lucic was purely avoiding a hit. It was Lucic's momentum and awkwardness that sent him overboard.

Pretty unlikely for me as well, but I absolutely love the idea....!

I'm a bit glad the Bruins got rid of Lucic. He DOES tend to play better in contract years, but he was somewhat neutered for much of last year, definitely floated a lot. Also very emotional and still a bit immature as that clip showed. It's too bad, because when he's truly on, he's fucking amazing. Now, THIS year's Bruins. Well, if they don't start getting their act together, it's gonna be a LOOOONG year....they will improve over a pitiful 6-2 opening day loss, but I'm not sure how far they'll go.

^^^ What Dan said. The only thing I like about it is that it showcases HOCKEY skills, not just shooting skills. But since I hate shootouts (mainly because the Bruins suck at them many years) I'd take this over them.
-
^^^^ That's almost my setup (Strada 2's and TR-1 sub). Loverly sound, yesitis.... EDIT: and the price is pretty dang nice As for the question at hand: do they need to be passive speakers (is it a receiver driving them)? Thinking an above average computer-style 2.1 system, like the PSB sub/sat combo. or even one of the Cambridge Soundworks type setups.

I think I'm just poisoned from the whole LH Lab's crowd-funding....leaves a sleazy feel to any established audio company doing it, even PS Audio with their Sprout....
-
Unholy carp, they went the crowd-funding route..... The rungs on the ladder of respect just all broke....

Raffi Torres suspended 41 games for a shitty pre-season hit. Good riddance to bad trash. Zack Kassian suspended without pay after being involved in a bad crash (though i don't believe he was driving), headed to "level 2" rehab-type help. NHL admitting Coke may be prevalent in usage by players. Gonna be a fun season.....lets get the games freaking started, need to focus on some real hockey.

Pretty cool music, and awesome cover! Thanks Bryan.....

I echo the Ety's. The sound is good/very good on most of their models, and the triple flange tips fit well in my narrow ear canals. Many other IEM's don't fit well so don't sound good (IME - In My Ears). Not sure of the Altec Lansing OEM'd Ety's (I think they were a copy of the ER-6's) are still available, but my wife loved them.

Went last night/this morning to see the lead singer of my favorite band, The Chameleons UK. Mark Burgess, touring as ChameleonsVox, did a fantastic show of their entire first album, plus another 1+ album's worth of additional Chameleons material. Many of us have "that band" that eclipses others, for me it's the Chameleons, even though I got into them late in their original incarnation in the 80's (I just missed their last US tour in 1987, didn't get to see them as a group until a 2001 reunion). Met up with a couple I had met via a mailing list in the 90's and kept in touch with, along with a local musician acquaintance who will join the band for 3 nights because of the main guitarist's mom passing away in England. And also reconnected with another list-member who I hadn't chatted with since the early-90's. This was the last time Mark will tour apparently, it was a tremendous show with a ton of energy and joy. Three separate encores beyond the main show. I'm at work and pretty exhausted now, but still filled with the energy and light from an amazing show!

The LCD-4 is twice as good as the LCD-2, and 1/3 better than the LCD-3.
