  1. Enjoy Dan! Al, I saw the larger competition @ Clarkson, but didn't have a chance to go in and look further..... Andrew liked Clarkson a lot. Tour guide's greatest quote: "...there are a lot of weird people here....but it's a REALLY GOOD weird....." It's way the fuck in the middle of nowhere though (even though it's close to the aforementioned Mexico, Philadelphia, and Antwerp. And Stockholm, too)
  2. Congrats San Jose! My brain said LA would win, but glad my heart won out on this (even though it means the Bruins' draft pick from SJ is worse now) Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
  3. Still in NY on college trips, and on the roads from Syracuse to Potsdam (Clarkson), we passed: Mexico Philadelphia Antwerp Seemingly predominant population: sheep, cows, horses. And earlier in the trip, we passed a sign for "Multzes Kill" NY....you are weird. After Clarkson, we go to hippie-land Burlington, Vermont for a UVM visit. Then home..... BTW: anyone ever visiting or near Syracuse NEEDS to go to Dinosaur BBQ. So freaking good! Been years since I've been in TX or other places with great BBQ, this one was awesome!
  4. This, so fucking much....RIP. Also RIP to ex-wrestler Joanie Laurer, aka Chyna. Never saw her, but read some things about her, good and bad (addictions).
  5. Very cool, Al. I didn't know if they would pull it off, but so far so good. Hope they can keep it up, and keep LA off their groove. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
  6. Happy Birthday!!
  7. Wow, indeed! Be nice f they can keep it up for the series! And Tom must be happy, Isles over Panthers.
  8. We're travelling Sunday early, too much to do Saturday to prep; can't stand in line with the vinyl hipsters.....
  9. The West has some great matchups! CHI-STL is going to be very interesting. Up until a couple weeks ago I would have said Chicago had only a small chance to make it past the first round. But they've come on very strong. And heck, if my lowly Bruins could beat St. Louis..... I think Anaheim and LA come out of their respective series. I'd LOVE to see the Sharks come out on top, but not sure they can. Kings look pretty strong again this year. Another good matchup though. For the East, want to see the Caps go through everyone. Poor Tampa Bay just got nailed with injuries, and while I love what Florida has done I think they're still a little too young/immature to push through in the playoffs. I hope Pittsburgh chokes as well, just can't bring myself to like them.....but they also came on strong towards the end of the season. For me it sucks that the Bruins aren't in, they choked ugly at the end (though some could say they overachieved to be int he running); but that makes it easier for me to watch the playoffs with less emotion. Go.....various teams!
  10. Happy (I guess officially belated, though it's still the 13th here) Birthday!
  11. No....I will not do that.....
  12. ^^^ Me too. I stole it (as I do several things from this thread) to post to FB. An old friend who is pretty geeky was one of the first to like it. He and I memorized post-decimal digits of Pi when we were in 6th grade. I got to 35, he got to 50! We always chuckled when that math teacher used one of her favorite expressions - "It's as easy as Pie" [sic]

  14. I'm glad the Bruins aren't in. They absolutely embarrassed themselves today, losing like they did. And the Rangers did them a favor in beating the Wings. Then, Philly gets the 2 points they need to jump ahead. So Bruins are out, and can't be embarrassed further, as well as missing at least two home playoff games for the owner to line his pockets (owner owns concessions, too, so he rakes in some serious $ when they play in Boston). Time to get rid of more deadwood if they can over the summer.
  15. Yeah, it sucks royally (for the Bruins, that is; Wings should be ecstatic, they may keep their playoff streak alive). By not playing several of their top players, Rangers likely lose to the Red Wings Saturday. And unless it's in a shootout, the BEST the Bruins can hope for is second wildcard, where they face the Caps (and THAT depends on how Philly plays). Oy.....
  16. Shit, that's just the dumbest idea I've ever heard. Then you have to reset all the clocks! (Now, if you had battery backup on the clocks, I'd think it was the best idea everer). And FWIW, I turn my HV mini off after use. Doesn't seem to take an hour for me so it seems......
  17. While your writing shows intelligence and is generally eloquent, I will argue this point above; or argue that if you read it, you still didn't get the feel of the place. There are certain more serious areas and very strong technical discussions. But this is also a very social and informal place. A bit closed, yes; it's your neighborhood bar that is cautious about welcoming new folks into the fold so easily. It is NOT your typical forum....the Welcome Message makes that clear. Writing a LARGE amount as a new poster here is akin to coming into that neighborhood bar and proceeding to take over an entire conversation. People started replying that they weren't interested in all you were saying, yet you went on and just became argumentative when the bar owner called you out. This is a different forum. Look around more, pay attention to how and where things get posted, and you'll see why many people reacted the way they did, EDIT: OK, Grawk said it as well and more succinctly than me....
  18. Started listening to this at work, got interrupted and didn't finish. This lady still knows how to make music. Mellower as she ages, less quirky, but still fairly lovely.
  19. Fucking Bruins are the opposite. 5% killer instinct, 95% missing. At the beginning of the year I didn't expect them to make the playoffs. With some streaks of great hockey, they brought my hope back. They had even played many Eastern Conference teams well, save the great Caps. Now, they could fizzle out with an ugly whimper in the last few games, just like last year. If they can get up to beat the Wings tomorrow, that will help. But we'll see.....
  20. RIP Merle. Great name, great man....
  21. That was kind of (TL) and I (DR)
  22. You CAN have too much cake, so I'll just wish a Happy Birthday!
  23. It does indeed....Happy Birthday!
  24. Nate, you just missed a 3-5" band that came a little South of you. I think we got about 4" here. Cold for a few days, so I will have to clear some of this out
  25. Happy Birthday Mike!
