  1. Yeezh x2, indeed hope it heals well Chris!
  2. RIP Joey....based on the comments after the announcement, sounds like he was quite a friend and inspiration.... RIP also to my cousin Barbara, my mother's first cousin, after about a year of various medical issues. Incredible, smart and loving woman, raised a beautiful family of 4 kids that I got to catch up with yesterday. Up until I graduated college, we used to spend every Thanksgiving at their home. I had only kept in touch with one of the children....
  3. Very nice Kerry! I'd love to catch one in the wild myself!
  4. So sad, so young.....sorry to hear.....

I wish this was recorded better, so cool that a youth orchestra backed her up. I love Mary's voice, so full of soul and emotion. Never got to see her live (she's touring now in my area, but we have plans all the possible days to see her). But I saw her back in 1994 with the band October Project. Their debut eponymous album is superb IMO.
  6. Agreed.....
  7. Yes, there are. And stop calling me Shirley.
  8. Lots of luck!

    Deals

Unfortunately, the jazz ones weren't on sale. I would love to try the Blue Note reissues.....
  10. Is Mike trying to hide his BDay? Not on the front page....I guess one can't escape. Happy Birthday!!
  11. For me, Fresh Fruit... will always be the crown of the DK album stable..... Listening now: Bat For Lashes - The Bride. So far, pretty good, though perhaps not quite as good as her last.
  12. Happy Birthday!!
  13. Happy Birthday Marshall. Hope it is/was a day filled with doubly-good celebrations!
  14. Bettman loves the US dollars coming in....he has a fear of Canadian Dollars, even though support would seemingly be very strong in Quebec.... I'd love Quebec to get a team again.....
  15. ^^^ Is that Brent's system?
  16. This is the Neely influence I think. He wants the toughness but still some talent. Management still wants to Bruins to be somewhat Blue Collar, because they've been pushed around a bit too much by others. Hoping there's no NMC for Backes, because if not in theory he could be exposed in expansion drafts after next year for LV, or in another 1-2 when another team potentially comes in. BTW, same with Anton Khudobin, though he's at cheaper money and a better stopgap. And many Bruins fan are basically OK with this deal for the short term, as it will still take time for the prospects to come up. A mix of folks would would have preferred Loui Erikkson stay at that same $6M, even if for 1 more year (and Loui's younger). But his injury history is tough....so I'm half and half on the overall deal. I like Backes, but going UFA means paying a lot, especially when a player has a good year and/or playoff run (and his playoff performance was great). Similar things can be said of a few of the UFA signings, like Milan Lucic and Andrew Ladd. 7 year deals @ $6M and $5.5M respecively, and expected to be somewhat albatross contracts at some point.... I wish the Bruins were allowed to FULLY re-tool to some extent, and not be JUST good enough to make or come close to playoffs but go nowhere..... Bah....I'm rambling. Just hope they can do SOMETHING better on Defense.
  17. I think we've been remiss in some birthday wishes recently! Happy Birthday...young man!
  18. Really great post/article on PK Subban trade. Can you say peer pressure? http://hfboards.hockeysfuture.com/showthread.php?t=2099595 Again, I think he'll do well in Nashville, in less of a fishbowl. Shaw was a good pickup for MTL, too. I joke that they need him to be that talented pest type, since Brad Marchand and Brendan Gallagher are now buddies. They need someone new to stoke the flames of hate Most Boston fans like the Krug deal, MAYBE feel a bit overpaid. But these are the rates. They also bought out another defenseman (Dennis Seidenberg), so many feel something is brewing....fingers crossed.....
  19. Yeah, some folks were saying MTL got their asses handed to them, but I agree with Dan. Short-to-mid term it helps MTL, as I also think Weber is better....maybe not as offensively gifted, but he still has one hell of a shot. His contract dollars are a bit smaller, but they go until he's 40. There's something with the rules in that MTL wouldn't get penalized ("recapture cap hit") if he retires early, it may actually be Nashville (?). Didn't look into or understand that. But bottom line, I agree it makes them a bit better now and for the next few. Now MTL needs to get more scoring, and have Price stay healthy. Not sure how well Subban will fit in Nashville. He'll be replacing somewhat of a hero, and not sure they'll like him as much (fans and teammates alike; Subban has a reputation of being intense and not as much a locker room guy). Time will tell; he may be fine without the attention that the MTL market has on it. As for the Bruins....meh.....they will be good again, some nice depth in prospects. But unless they do something in trade or FA, next year will suck as well.
  20. Admit it, it was the online racing setup..... Again, sorry to hear, but as Stretch said, shoe games and all that.....
  21. I really don't get it....I've heard Cavalli amps 4 times @ 3 different shows. Granted show conditions, but each time other amps at the same show sounded better to me. Don't any of these people have access to other amps?! The latest was at the recent Spring NY meet. Dan (MrSpeakers) was displaying his prototype electrostatics with a BHSE, and one of his Ether's with a Cavalli amp. One of the 2 stats sounded promising to me (the other sounded a bit glaring and congested). I went over to listen to the Ether on Cavalli, and it was a bit dull & lifeless, with a frequency response that did not sound balanced at all. I have heard the Ether sound a lot better.... Same thing happened with my own Senn 600's a few years back at the same NY meet. They did not sound as good out of the Cavalli amp that Yikes had as with several other (cheaper) amps at the same show. Heck, my own cheap setup, forgot exactly what it was at the time, sounded better to me. I am no expert at the tech side, so I leave that critique to those who are. But sometimes a lousy design can still SOUND half decent, at least for a period until something goes bad. But to me, these just did not. I haven't heard the LC so can't comment there, but jeez.....I just don't get the enthusiasm.....
  22. Ouch! Sorry to hear Jeff....on all accounts!
  23. My bad on music history, I had heard his name and never really knew who he was. An amazing resume and history@! RIP Mr. Moore.
  24. RIP, an amazing woman. Also RIP to Buddy Ryan, who was coaching (not head coach) on two great NFL teams: the Jets that won the Super Bowl with Joe Namath, and the Bears that dominated in 86. Rob and Rex are decent defensive coaches, but Buddy was in another class IMO.
  25. Happy Birthday!!
