  1. I think you're spot on Steve. My father-in-law didn't seem to like animals, but my wife tells me that their dog they got when she was young used to gravitate a lot to him. As time went on and she grew old and passed, he couldn't even tell my wife on the phone (she was at college), he was too choked up. Animals can be truly amazing in their sensing of caring people.....even if those people don't know it!
  2. This is a possibility, though doctor was somewhat doubtful right now, given age and no other symptoms. But we did have bloodwork done (on both cats), we'll see what the results are soon.
  3. Warning: graphic pet shit (literally). So, both cats are having "issues" these days. One is longer-term, but so far not concerning, just REAL annoying (extra soft stools, outside the litterbox sometimes). Got some meds from the vet to try and resolve. Just starting 2 days ago, the second one started meowing more and with a slight howling sound, you could tell he was uncomfortable; I thought constipated. Some spitting up, and leaving little liquid drops of crap ALL around the fucking house (Karen and I were nuts, cleaning up after him). So he had the second of two visits to the vet tonight. Wonderful doctor inspects him, agrees that he may be constipated, offers a few things to try.... ...so my cat had an enema tonight. Got home, segregated this one from the main part of our house with a 3+ foot high TV box. Both cats had separate litter and food. I come downstairs, my son is there looking at the box. And I see the cat in the kitchen..... "Dude, why'd you let the cat in, didn't you see the section was closed off....?" "Dad, i didn't touch it...he was in the kitchen when I came down...." Oh, great. But lo and behold, he just let loose a large dump in the litter we set up for the other cat! He also seemed to be relieved, and he jumped up to his favorite window sill to get brushed, purring like (we hope) his old self. So fingers crossed he's OK now, no more spotting or accidents. And who knew....a friggin' kitty enema......

  6. (Punchline entry point): How does he smell?
  7. I think when you give notice, you ARE giving them a big TICE! At least figuratively..... But yeah, it IS always about the notice-giver.....
  8. Congrat x 2, I've always loved the feeling of giving notice!

  14. Thanks Kevin, just ordered; I had originally heard of some issues on some of the Pioneers (I think maybe CA said the 180 didn't work), so glad to have that option. I already have a lot of SACD rips, but always great to have this for the others I have on disc only.

  19. Yeah, it was pretty fucking amazing. I like all 3, but kd lang stole the biggest highlights with Helpless and Constant Craving. Different show, but very similar performances: The musicians were great, the banter between the self-proclaimed "Sister Wives" was lots of fun, and each performer got to show off a lot, with some great harmonies by 2 or all 3 at a time on many songs. Two encores, with the second starting off with Patti Smith's People Have The Power. A great great show, threatened early on by rain, but it cleared before they came on, and even had a nice rainbow as a prelude to their show. Great entertainment, well worth the see!
  20. Going to see these ladies tonight, looking very forward!
  21. I imagine adding anything in the chain would offset what good/fun you could do with tube-rolling. At worst, maybe some kind of line-level tube buffer, but those are probably worse-built in general than many tube amps.
  22. Indeed he did. I look back on things like Happy Days and wondered how the fuck I could ever watch it....but back then, as a kid, it was great stuff. RIP to a great entertainment creator.
  23. I'm with you on Cowboy Junkies. I am in major heart with The Caution Horses, not a bad song on it and my favorite of theirs. I remember them appearing on David Letterman at that time, and he introduced them naming their new album The Cautious Horses....
