  1. Actually, we're just expecting a lot of new internet cat GIF's from all this But yes, several cat/animal lovers here!

  3. RIP A.J. Conti, founder of Basis Turntables. Had the pleasure of meeting him in his home-demo room in Nashua NH many years back. His nutty passion was incredibly infectious. He truly wanted the best in life, and in his craft. http://www.theabsolutesound.com/articles/basis-audio-founder-aj-conti-19572016/
  4. Wow, hope he is OK, and glad you could help him!

  10. Be careful, that can lead to CWD syndrome......or are we too late for that?
  11. Happy Birthday! And what Steve said.....
  12. Great article! I remember a college acquaintance who lived near me in our dorm, he was from Thailand. He had a picture of Bhumibol in his room, and indeed had glowing praise. He went on to a mid-to-high level position in one of the bigger banks there, and credited the King with a "tempered modernization" that people seemed to love. RIP to the King. And wishing for a peaceful and good transition for Thailand.
  13. Those are always fun, walked through several myself. I liked moving from that to a POC and seeing the vendors shine or fall flat on their faces.
  14. Awesome Brent and son-of, and awesome DOTU! #NFLO
  15. Ah, yes, thanks Jim. Urban Hi-Fi is the retail side of it..... I haven't looked recently at the H-F thread. I know there was someone who was doing mods there that took pages and pages, that and the PS discussion took over the thread. But originally, it was about the base amp, maybe with some tube-swapping. One of the few threads I read there..... I used to own the original ZOTL as well, nice blue color; used it both with phones (Senn 580's) and with some bass-reflex Lowther speakers I had. Lovely product! Can't compare the 2.0 to it, way too many years, but the 2.0 is very good.
  16. There's a version 2 out, licensed from Berning by some nice gents called Urban Audio....big stuff over on H-F, but this time rightfully so IMO. Have one myself.... Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
  17. RIP, Rod and Brock.....and yeah, fuck Cancer and Alzheimer's
  18. Good luck and stay safe Mike, and all in the path. Anyone hear from Wayne? I saw that the storm should have been far enough away, but haven't seen/heard much for details....
  19. This is awesomeness at its highest. Wonderful all around, Brent!
  20. Saw Mary Fahl at a nearby church last night. Incredible show, last time I saw her was 22 years ago when she was with the group October Project. Such a powerful, emotional, unique voice. She sang many of her own or October Project compositions, but she also did a wonderful version of Both Sides Now, an Italian aria, Some Enchanted Evening from South Pacific, and La Vie En Rose. An amazing show, and she told wonderful stories alongside. Got a nice chat and pic after the show.
  21. Good news, Mike, hope a perm fix is found!
  22. I'm potentially excited too, but have some reservations..... Not sure if I read correctly, but price may be $500-ish (also heard $800). Taking the HA-1 and removing the (very good) amp section, I can understand that pricing. But the pre/line output was not the best-sounding part of the HA-1 I think. And I'd guess the new Sonica DAC may have the same limitations....price point and all.... We'll see. I'll probably be fanboy enough to buy when it first comes out. And maybe there will be a mod market for it if needed.....
  23. He seemed to be an incredible human being....RIP Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
  24. Happy anniversary! Great smiles! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD
  25. Fuck.....the onions here.....that's just awesome. Something to honor a loved one, made with care and love in itself. Indeed, you guys ARE the best!
