  1. 3 watts per channel of the purest Class A you'll ever hear! 🤣
  2. What an incredible story Steve, and I so admire how you persevered throughout many times and places of ignorance and hatred. In my life we've been blessed to have many family friends, several of whom are gay. My father and stepmother were minority owners of a travel agency with a gay friend. He was always part of the family, as were the owners of a B&B in Maine (since sold). Many an event had these friends there, and we were all just part of the family (one of the B&B owners just happen to be a great cook, and made the best desserts I've ever had). In college we had an LGTBQ club (and this was Babson College, a conservative Business School). I had thought that an RA in my dorm was gay, but he never came out in school. He is out many years now, and very happy I'm happy to say, today. The only negative experience was with a friend in High School. Chris never formally came out, but all of us knew he was gay and he was always just one of us. I found out while in college that he killed himself. I don't know the reasons, but I always feared he struggled with coming out; maybe something with his family, I don't know. It's wonderful to see so much being the norm now, love is truly love. But therefore it's so sad to see those spots where things are not normal, for gay people or any other person who is treated as an outcast. Funny story: one year when Karen and I were in Ogunquit, she took me to a place called The Front Porch. Very much a gay spot, though many different-sex couples like us would be there, too. It was a lot of fun, but I had to admit I disliked the place. Not because gay people were there, but because they sang (with wonderful voices though) too many show tunes. And I really friggin' hate show tunes! 🤣 EDIT: and to answer the question, what does Gay pride mean to me? It means I have more wonderful people in my life to teach me more about life and to be their wonderful selves.

  9. Oh man, glad I didn't say anything 😄 I was born December 1964, so "officially" a Boomer, but definitely Gen-X as well as Boomer..... But I do agree with Steve regarding the downfall of TV news....I blame Reagan and the removal of the Fairness Doctrine....
  10. So sorry to hear all this Jose, hope you are doing better!
  11. Very Happy Birthday! Hope it is/was great!
  12. First weekend up in our Maine Condo, nice to be up here. As always, set up the stereo (all-in-one with Orchard Pecan Pi + board and Purifi amp modules -> Kaya S12 speakers). This is the second all-in-one like this I modded, did a cleaner job on the back of this one....no panel scratches. Also a lovely picture of Nubble Lighthouse in York Maine with the Northern Lights; not my pic. But one of Karen and my favorite places!
  13. Interesting but don't like the aesthetic in that room.... I DO like the side view pic, maybe a variation on "His Master's Voice" perhaps?
  14. Man....that is BIG...what a fucking legend....RIP Mr. Albini!

  19. Not playing yet, but coming up: Sarah Jarosz in Lowell on Friday August 30th. I will likely get tix, Karen may join or may be up in Maine with her sister. Letting @n_maher and @en480c4 know just in case (that is Labor Day weekend, though). https://www.etix.com/ticket/p/73729351/sarah-jaroszpolaroid-lovers-tour-lowell-lowell-summer-music-series-at-boarding-house-park
  20. There's a lot of equipment I think is so grossly overpriced it's ridiculous; on principal even if I had the $ I likely wouldn't purchase many things. I've found that I can enjoy simpler things, and my main basement system is kind of my "local" dream. I say local because it's right for my musical tastes, in my home/listening room. For me, my ultimate dream system can be perhaps 50% the room and its comfort....
  21. ^^^ Listened to part of that yesterday.....enjoyed it some but didn't get through it. Will have to have another listen.....
  22. Happy Birthday!!
  23. Those are the Avant-Garde's I believe....I have heard their younger brother....
