Very much this. A wonderful and talented person, lost too early.....

It was actually a couple weeks ago, but Karen and I went to The Simon And Garfunkle Story A band, fronted by S&G somewhat-look-alikes, plays a bunch of their songs and tells some of their story as well. All backed by a mix of still photos and videos on a screen behind them. I would definitely recommend it, with one caveat: the performers we saw (they have multiple across US and the world) were technically incredible. But they lacked that last emotional grab, that would have made it fantastic. From the website, not the performance we saw. But very similar....

Thanks all! The actual day sucked, I had a TON of work to do, my wife was out for the day and early evening at a conference, and then I had a nighttime work call with colleagues in Korea. Tonight should make up for it, going to have my "birthday meal" at a local fish-focused restaurant. They took the specific dish off the menu last year, but they still made it for me. Hoping they can do the same this year, but if not they have other nice options. EDIT: Nate, thanks for the extra wishes. We are fine, we got our gas back less than two days after I shut it off....no issues at all

Oh, man, what a major sad.....he and the Buzzcocks were a pretty big part of my youth....saw them twice (after they broke up the first time) and loved the shows....they made some of the best punk-pop ever.

Ian, were you at the Case/Lang/Veirs show in Lowell last summer? That was fantastic..... Al, they asked the same of the crowd then (as well as on Neko's solo show I saw the year before); indeed it made it a better experience.....

Never was much of a Gomer Pyle fan myself, though watched a few. McHale's Navy, oh yeah....and Wild West too..... And Space 1999....now THERE come some memories! I now have that theme song going thru my head. And Craig, Addams Family and Munsters were right up there with me as well. I loved Carolyn Jones! Goth Girl before Goth was Goth. As for CGAW, Dusty, that's great that she looks younger.....you should find a nice (and non-creepy) way to tell her that! I hope things are still comfy enough with her.

4AD reissues of This Mortal Coil - 24-96 of two of their albums. I adore Caroline Crawley! Love her cover of Mr. Somewhere....

Funniest thing for me is that I've seen that Koala hat before, when I went to Australia earlier this year! Yeah, kinda creepy, but I liked it (at least the guy i saw wearing it was smiling!). -
RIP to Ken Berry I have lots of fun memories of F-Troop growing up, watching that with my brothers.....

RIP Mr. President. "Dignity" is a very good word to use.... The bond he created with a one-time "enemy" in Bill Clinton is something that politicians all over the US can learn from....
-
RIP Stephen and Bernardo....two very different creators, but both inscribed in our hearts and minds.... And, fuck ALS......my son had an acquaintance in school who's dad passed from that in his early 40's IIRC....

We hosted for the first time this year....turned out to be great, everyone pitched in and brought things, and a wonderful time was had. I even had a work colleague in this week from Amsterdam, so I invited him over for dessert. ALMOST makes me want to do it again.....

Music Direct is having a Black Friday "preview" sale. One thing stuck out for me, the Elac Debut 6.2 (newer revision) for half price....abut $150/pr instead of $300. I had owned their Debut 6 model from the original series. It was VERY good, but just a bit too soft for my ultimate liking. The .2 revision supposedly has a better tweeter, so I expect a more balanced sound. If I didn't have maybe 9 other bookshelf speakers I'd grab a pair! ? Fuck, maybe I will anyway.... https://www.musicdirect.com/speakers/ELAC-Debut-B62-Bookshelf-Speakers

Actually looks quite peaceful Doug.....the good part of snow. We got maybe 3-4 inches, I'm a tiny bit Southwest of Nate. Not bad, even side roads look fairly clear, and it's projected to be in the 40's later and tomorrow Working from home today anyway, I was also up a few hours with congestion.... ☹️
