  1. Glad it was a relatively easy fix....echo the stay safe wishes!
  2. I don't have an HD800 or variant anymore....but I have tried an HD600 with balanced cable on the DSHA3F. Maybe not perfect, and indeed as Doug says maybe a little thin....but still quite nice.
  3. RIP Peter Magowan. Didn't even know of him, but big respect to someone who fights to keep a team in a local market, especially if that market can easily support the team.
  4. As a DSHA3F owner, I can say with general reservedness that I'm fucking ecstatic with mine! For both the Utopia and the Clear, I have heard no better amp.
  5. RIP Jessica....seemed like quite a lady..... Makes me think of all the people in our lives, the ones we meet who make even a small difference. I think back on things, even back to High School, and people who weren't "in" my life, but who made some impact on me....
  6. Happy Belated!! Enjoy the weekend...!
  7. RIP Lorna.....never kept up with the Germs after Darby died....it was good to see she kept doing what she loved. And Fuck cancer.....
  8. Last I heard it was going to be less snow, but more sleet/freezing rain....then a massive chill coming Monday..... My wife and mother-in-law were supposed to fly to FL tonight, when we first saw the snow delaying until later Saturday night, she decided not to try and get an earlier flight. She just found out this morning it was cancelled. They are now tentatively going out Monday morning....hoping the roads will be OK and they can make it....
  9. More awesomeness! Congrats (and thanks) Jacob!
  10. RIP George, indeed sounds like a neat guy!
  11. Happy Birthday! And Dusty, do I need to remind you again? Tickety-boo!
  12. She was a beautiful woman, in every way, for all her years! RIP......
  13. That's awesome, too many adult cats and dogs don't get adopted....enjoy!
  14. Happy Birthday!
  15. Happy Birthday!
  16. I guess a while in coming....RIP Daryl.... The whole family history is quite interesting, with 2 brothers and both parents also in the music business (my favorite brother Dennis Dragon was in the Surf Punks, but was in a couple bands with Daryl and Doug in the 60's and 70's). RIP to Bob Einstein too....did not watch Curb Your Enthusiasm, but knew him as Super Dave and even remembered him from Smothers Brothers and Sonny & Cher show re-runs....didn't realize until somewhat recently that he and Albert Brooks were brothers!
  17. RIP to Ray....always liked Dr Hook, even if I didn't own a lot of their music. Couple of Science-related deaths of note: Lawrence Roberts, one of the creators of Arpanet: https://www.nytimes.com/2018/12/30/obituaries/lawrence-g-roberts-dies-at-81.html Nancy Roman, "Mother" of the Hubble Telescope, one of the first Women Leaders in NASA: https://www.nytimes.com/2018/12/30/obituaries/nancy-roman-dies-at-93.html
  18. Hope you and family are doing OK, Steve!
  19. Happy Birthday!
  20. Happy Birthday!!
  21. Very much this. A wonderful and talented person, lost too early.....
  22. It was actually a couple weeks ago, but Karen and I went to The Simon And Garfunkle Story A band, fronted by S&G somewhat-look-alikes, plays a bunch of their songs and tells some of their story as well. All backed by a mix of still photos and videos on a screen behind them. I would definitely recommend it, with one caveat: the performers we saw (they have multiple across US and the world) were technically incredible. But they lacked that last emotional grab, that would have made it fantastic. From the website, not the performance we saw. But very similar....
  23. Thanks all! The actual day sucked, I had a TON of work to do, my wife was out for the day and early evening at a conference, and then I had a nighttime work call with colleagues in Korea. Tonight should make up for it, going to have my "birthday meal" at a local fish-focused restaurant. They took the specific dish off the menu last year, but they still made it for me. Hoping they can do the same this year, but if not they have other nice options. EDIT: Nate, thanks for the extra wishes. We are fine, we got our gas back less than two days after I shut it off....no issues at all
  24. Oh, man, what a major sad.....he and the Buzzcocks were a pretty big part of my youth....saw them twice (after they broke up the first time) and loved the shows....they made some of the best punk-pop ever.
  25. Ian, were you at the Case/Lang/Veirs show in Lowell last summer? That was fantastic..... Al, they asked the same of the crowd then (as well as on Neko's solo show I saw the year before); indeed it made it a better experience.....
