  1. So somber yet lovely....it almost makes me want to cry.....
  2. Actually enjoyed this a bit! Thought it would be way over-the-top a la William Shatner, but it was kind of regular music. The difference was I really liked the song selection, some great New Wave from the 80's - Echo & The Bunnymen, Lords Of The New Church, Jesus & Mary Chain - as well as other hits from 70's onward. Nothing really special, but just enjoyed hearing the songs.....
  3. Happy Birthday!
  4. Happy Birthday!
  5. RIP Joseph Wilson. Also admired his desire to do the right thing. Showed (once again) a very nasty side of politics, with everything he and his wife had to endure....
  6. RIP Robert, Aron, and Sid..... For the latter, I liked House of 1,000 Corpses as well as Devil's Rejects
  7. Happy Birthday! Hope the fishin' was good!
  8. That's actually quite cool..... Until My Favorite Game came along I guess they were pretty unknown. Must have been great to see them earlier.....
  9. My rare post to this thread..... Bean-less Chilli, made with "alterna-meat" of Ground Camel. Really quite yummy, even as leftovers....
  10. ^^ Add one more in....on the YouTube video of "terms Of Surrender" a writer describes it as Nick Cave meets Bob Dylan.... Hmmmmmm.....
  11. I think I've been to that store! Looks quite familiar behind the "cage." Could be wrong, though.....especially since it was so long ago. I was there in the very earliest days of DAP's, and they were having the debut of the Diamond MP3 player (can't remember if the first model was called RIO or not). The oddest part was that the unit was available in the US before Japan. And, for less money.....one of the lovely ladies showing it was surprised when I converted the US price to Yen and showed her....
  12. Some things just should not be done.....
  13. RIP to a Grande Dame in journalism!
  14. Happy 50th! Enjoy like you're half a century old!
  15. Will be interesting to see 1) what TIDAL and Qobuz do in relation to this, and 2) if/when Amazon is integrated into Roon. I will eagerly await both results.....
  16. RIP Ric.... Oddly enough, I never owned one of their albums, but they were indeed ingrained in so many of my friends' lives growing up.
  17. RIP Eddie.....and indeed fuck cancer!
  18. I went from the Utopia to the Clear. Gave up that last tiny bit of amazing transparency for a better (to me) upper-mid/treble balance. Purk is also right about the soundstage, but the DSHA-3F gets the best I've heard for soundstaging from them, and imaging (eerie good!) within....
  19. Realize it's "tomorrow" Down Under, but Happy Birthday. Hope it was great!
  20. Good stuff, Dan....dump exchanges seem to be getting more popular....I've heard people talk about several in the past couple months. Keep forgetting where, though. As for those NS1000's, throw THOSE on Craigslist I'd say, or maybe on another site like Audio Asylum as local-only. There indeed should be folks willing to pay for those beryllium drivers....
  21. So sad.....and such beauty and tragedy all at once.....
  22. Cocteau Twins are always one of my top listens, I "go" to them periodically and run through a lot of their output.... Another fave of mine, a little more mellow and ambient, is Victorialand. Not as cool/freaky/spacey as Treasure, but a good listen when you're in a do-nothing mood or when you need something not TOO distracting while you work.
  23. Awesome, Nate!
  24. Al, you said it so well. She fought hard, bravely, and beautifully all the way through. RIP Valerie. My wife grew up in a small town in NJ, called Glen Rock. Apparently Valerie's sister (half sister?) is still there, and the town is pouring in the sympathies and well-wishes.....
  25. Wishing you good shelter from the storm, Jim! And safe wishes to all in its path. My mother-in-law just sold her home down in Boynton Beach last month. I'm happy she won't have to deal with anything there anymore.
