So sad.....and such beauty and tragedy all at once.....
-
Cocteau Twins are always one of my top listens, I "go" to them periodically and run through a lot of their output.... Another fave of mine, a little more mellow and ambient, is Victorialand. Not as cool/freaky/spacey as Treasure, but a good listen when you're in a do-nothing mood or when you need something not TOO distracting while you work.

Awesome, Nate!

Al, you said it so well. She fought hard, bravely, and beautifully all the way through. RIP Valerie. My wife grew up in a small town in NJ, called Glen Rock. Apparently Valerie's sister (half sister?) is still there, and the town is pouring in the sympathies and well-wishes.....

Wishing you good shelter from the storm, Jim! And safe wishes to all in its path. My mother-in-law just sold her home down in Boynton Beach last month. I'm happy she won't have to deal with anything there anymore.

^^^^ Good to know Ric. Wife and I watched opener, she's not into it but I thought it showed promise. Looks like promise fulfilled perhaps.....

Sounds like......Tool.....a couple songs in, sounds good on 'phones...... EDIT: not QUITE as angst/angry as some other Tool albums, definitely a bit mellower. Still pretty enjoyable EDIT 2: several songs are Prog-long....6 of 7 songs over 10 minutes, one over 15.....

^^ A local dealer used to have these....they use an outboard crossover that is a full length component size. They also always made me think of one of my favorite brands, Gallo.....

I didn't know Matt personally, some e-messaging back on H-F in the nicer times. But I always get sad when I see the outpouring here....and the fact he would have only been fucking 37 years old today.... Happy Birthday Matt.....

That's what booby-traps are for......

Hello Atma-Sphere MA-2's.......

A bit late in the day, but hope the day is/was great. Stop in and say hi, or post more pics of your beautiful family!

Music Direct (and others I'd guess) have the Elac Adante speakers on big sale. Thinking maybe they'll get replaced by a v2 line or something else. I've briefly heard the AS-61 stand-mounted and they are VERY VERY good.....and now $1,000 off, to $1,499. https://www.musicdirect.com/Search?category=ELAC%20Adante%20Series&sort=popularity|DESC&page=1&pagesize=24&c1=tab-products&c2=grid

RIP Peter.....and fuck cancer....

That pic looks quite a bit like a younger John Lydon......I've got nothing more interesting to contribute.....

I think you just encapsulated EVERYTHING there is to know about cats in 3 words ?
-
RIP Toni....?
-
^^ Yes, good thinking. Despite MANY attempts to deflect our cats to other scratching areas, they used to scratch anything they want. One has passed, and the other still likes to scratch various things other than his posts or pads; he did some grill cover damage to a pair of Platinum Audio PT-801 monitors I had a little bit low to the ground. But a few other speakers I've had in the same spot he didn't touch. So who knows what scents/grill cloth feeling/whatever drove him just to those speakers....

Never mind the speaker panels having lots of streaks and pulls in them!

Celebrating Karen's birthday with an extended weekend celebration.... Last night we saw Livingston Taylor at a nice theater that is about a mile away from our Maine condo! Nice time, though I tried to get a note to him through the staff to wish her a happy bday and he didn't.... BTW, the Cowboy Junkies are coming there in October, will try and see them. Today, we're both working remotely, but we'll do a nice dinner at a restaurant by the water tonight. Then son comes up tomorrow and we'll do a couple more things. Then home Sunday; Karen is going to a play with a friend, then her mom is taking us out Sunday night to celebrate....

Happy Birthday "First" Todd!
-
^^^ My son is ultra-hyped for this.....and even more so for the new album!

Very Happy Birthday!!

Oh, man, RIP Rutger Hauer. Aside from Blade Runner, my other favorite role of his was in The Hitcher. Not a great movie, but he made it great to watch.
