  1. Happy Belated B Belated Happy Birthday! It's not the day that's belated, it's me. Hope it was great!
  2. ^^ But do they say that when they're wearing their lingerie?? 😄
  3. The older Stranglers stuff is awesome. One of my best friends moved here from England in the late 70's, brought us his taste in music with The Jam, The Stranglers, etc. Since then, he's seen them many a time, met them all, is part of some informal (and also another formal IIRC) fan club. And most recently, took his 3 kids to visit family and see the latest incarnation of the band in a town where his cousin lives. And his most exciting part was that the original drummer's (Jet Black) widow - who is close with many of the fans - invited him and his kids to stay with her one night. Lots of stories, boatloads of memorabilia, and he got to "hold Jet Black's ashes" in the urn. As creepy as it sounds, he said she was a wonderful hostess and they all had a great time. I haven't listened to much of their output since Hugh Cornwell left. I also got to meet them in 1983, when a guy in my dorm was a co-op for CBS records. They owned the sub-label the Stranglers were on, and we got to take JJ Burnell to a local college radio station for an interview. Some great memories.... All THAT diatribe said....I hadn't heard that Prong cover before, and it's quite good!
  4. Very scary and sad. Even as a Jew, I can't support this. Hamas needs to be gone, but so does the right wing in Israel.... God forbid if Trump wins. Aside from all the other Hell we'd get, he'll let Netanyahu do whatever he'd like!
  5. ^^ I was literally listening to some Champian Fulton music last night! What a fun show that must have been!
  6. Happy Birthday Wayne!!
  7. Very Happy Birthday Jim!!
  8. One pic from Iceland and some other funnies from FB (Harmlessly passing your time in the grasslands awaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyy 🙂) (For Ric of course)
  9. Happy Birthday!!
  10. We could see “combined frequency” brightness, like a faded white light. I had to set camera (iphone) exposure, etc. to see the lights in color. I loved the one where the cloud was drenched in green, though!!
  11. Saw a few lights….🙂
  12. In Vik, Iceland. Stopped at Black Crust Pizza and had….Black Crust Pizza! It’s not burnt….that’s the color and it was decent tasting. Karen agreed it was very good, but not NY (or CT?) good. Glad we went
  13. Happy birthday!! You look great for 124 😊
  14. 😄 Actually not too bad though! But still not as good for me as the original album/group.
  15. ^^^ LOVE Propaganda! The 2 original female singers are in a new band, xPropaganda; they have a new album out (as well as Claudia having done a good amount of solo stuff as well as under the band name Act). Interestingly, the two male members are coming out in October with a new album under the Propaganda name. A single is already out. Seems interesting, but most of the albums that any of them have done outside the line-up from that album (maybe excluding Act's one album) have not been as enjoyable for me personally.
  16. Dinner out in Maine with Karen and her sister Jill. We had a nice outside spot that looked out over a water inlet in Kennebunkport (a beautiful coastal and tourist town; the Bush family has an estate there)....
  17. Bedouine - s/t Nice easy pop folk, nice sound without becoming too boring. Love her voice! This one is in my Roon library, her other stuff seems good as well.
  18. Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds - Wild God. Jury still out after one listen through, but it's certainly got that majesty that he's delivered before. A little more positive vibes as well. Will need some more plays to see how it catches on, but I'd say very good so far.
  19. Got my latest COVID booster (Pfizer) today. With Karen in treatments and us doing some travelling soon we wanted to be caught up. We got the latest version, didn't think it was coming out until later September or October; so feel good about that.
  20. And I think i need to start hosting and serving tea....😁
  21. Nice, thanks! As an PF fan of their earliest music plus a couple post-Meddle albums, my only dislike is the the intro to Astronomy Domine (one of my all-time favorites). The above performance, and also on Umma Gumma, has what I call the "shaky keyboard" start. I still like the original Syd Barrett-era intro. In later years, David Gilmour would do the original intro style when he played this. Nit-picking for sure, but isn't that what the deepest (most OCD 🤣) fans do?
  22. ^^^ SO SO SO right Nate. I knew 3 people from my High School class who committed suicide, all of them probably could have used a friendly ear and voice. I didn't know Matt well at all, just a couple interactions on H-F back in the day. But I'm very glad he is remembered so well by many here!
