  1. Hope it's a happy (and invasion-free) birthday!!
  2. Wow, incredible story.....RIP to your uncle, may he truly rest in peace now! Wishing you and your family some peace as well, give or take the asshole uncle....
  3. My brother (works in the liquor industry) says he has an extra Ardbeg baseball hat - need to remind him to get it for me! I would wear that over my usual sports hat (Boston Bruins hockey). Somewhat related: one of my best friends is from the UK originally, and loves Marmite. I found this video and he loved it!
  4. Karen and I just found out Ghosts (US version) is continuing.... Fun show, just watched the latest episode....we had binged the first (I think) 14 or 15 a couple months ago.
  5. ^^^ That's so bad but I chuckle each time I look at it....
  6. Needs more coconut audio devices.....
  7. Very sad that people die so young, especially if there are drugs involved....very sorry to hear Dan....!
  8. Very Happy Birthday!!!
  9. Replied in another thread. Just read that Jada has a medical condition that causes hair loss, and has been public about it. So I think Will Smith still overreacted, but the joke-writer is a complete douche as well....and I'd have to assume Chris Rock knew about that, and even HE would have tempered or not done the joke. In other words, Steve is most likely correct....
  10. Condolences Bryan.....people with genuinely good humor are wonderful!
  11. ^^^ Nothing will beat Voltron-level! 😄 BTW, one additional funny point about my name: when I was looking to get the samost.com domain rights, I got notice it was already in use. My first thought was a cousin of mine in NJ, he was very "internet aware" at the time, and I thought he may have reserved it. But no....samost.com was used for a hotel chain in China!! They've since given it up, and I claimed it; but that was a crazy find. And now, samost.com.cn is for the "Samost Optoelectronics Technology Co Ltd" Has me curious if there is any connection....
  12. Me 3.....my last name, Samost, is quite unique. I have been called Samos (and there is a cabinet-maker family near me with that name), or Samoset like the Native American Tribe. When we first moved in our neighborhood, someone told me they were excited because they (didn't fully catch my name and) thought I may be related to John Stamos 😊 On the other hand, I love having this unique of a name. Pretty sure that anyone with that last name in the USA is a blood or marriage relative.
  13. Nice Nate! So does that make Andrew Mr. DIY'er Jr.? 😊
  14. Happy Birthday Al!
  15. I hardly ever post here, but I just had an awesome dinner out with Karen. We went to a place called the Copper Door in Salem, NH, and I had their "Bourbon Bacon Beef Tips." So fucking tender, flavorful, and wrapped in bacon. The bourbon sauce was outstanding. As we got our check, I told the waitress, "This was fucking awesome...." She laughed, and whispered to me "You should try the fucking Shepherd's Pie!" It was a fuck-fest (verbally) the rest of the night with her, lots of chuckles. Her final wish to me was "Drive fucking safe...." @n_maher Have you been to this restaurant? There's one in Plaistow as well apparently.... Wish I had thought to take a picture....
  16. I was more a wrestling fan of the 70's, but had heard of Scott Hall/Razor Ramon....very sad, RIP.....
  17. Very Happy Birthday!
  18. RIP to Charles Entenmann, baked goods legend; but interesting read regarding some other things he did... https://www.newsday.com/long-island/obituaries/charles-entenmann-funeral-bakery-legacy-1.50531126 92 years old, and a good life I'd say....
  19. I wouldn't necessarily boycott local Stoli. It's actually owned by a Russian who had left Russia (forced out?) when Putin gained power.... Most of the world's source of Stoli is produced out of Latvia. That said....there are better vodka's out there, and Tito's is a good choice. Also agree on the "look East" comment....
  20. Just started that as well Steve....two episodes in and I like it! Can't remember if I read the book, though; I've read a bunch of Karin Slaughter in the long past.
  21. Well, it DOES have flavors of grape and some berries, why not Kool-Aid?
  22. RIP to another aunt of mine, Iva (lower left) passed away peacefully Friday after a long life that was hampered with dementia towards the end. The pic below is of my father's family. 4 blood siblings, and Iva who married Joe (lower right). My dad (top center) and my Aunt Goldie (top right) are the only remaining siblings still alive. Time passes, and new life is born, but it also means the slow but sure end of a generation....and a lifetime of precious memories remains..... EDIT: just watched the funeral, it was streamed from the gravesite. Two of her 3 children, my cousins, were talking and one held up a self-portrait Iva did when she was 13 years old. Incredible....art was a big part of her life (she taught art for many years, and I remember some paintings and sculptures in their home of hers).
  23. In as well, I think my wife will love this! $ just sent....thanks, Dan! Woops! Only sent $20, more on the way....😣
  24. Jacob, don't have an answer to your 1-cat or 2-cat question. When in doubt, I always would try to merge cats into a household. But do it as carefully as possible. But that said, I tried that when my first cat was older (7 or 8 years of being 1-cat with me). There was an adult cat I tried to bring in, keeping them separated in different areas (and the new cat in a room not used by my cat). In the end, there was still too much hissing and scratching, with nearly a nasty vet bill once had I not used a couch pillow to split them up.... I had to bring the new cat to a no-kill shelter with a large donation. I cried on the way home....
  25. I forgot how much I love the songwriting by them, and Tracy Thorn's imperfect yet perfect delivery....
