RIP to Charles Entenmann, baked goods legend; but interesting read regarding some other things he did... https://www.newsday.com/long-island/obituaries/charles-entenmann-funeral-bakery-legacy-1.50531126 92 years old, and a good life I'd say....

I wouldn't necessarily boycott local Stoli. It's actually owned by a Russian who had left Russia (forced out?) when Putin gained power.... Most of the world's source of Stoli is produced out of Latvia. That said....there are better vodka's out there, and Tito's is a good choice. Also agree on the "look East" comment....

Just started that as well Steve....two episodes in and I like it! Can't remember if I read the book, though; I've read a bunch of Karin Slaughter in the long past.

Well, it DOES have flavors of grape and some berries, why not Kool-Aid? -
RIP to another aunt of mine, Iva (lower left) passed away peacefully Friday after a long life that was hampered with dementia towards the end. The pic below is of my father's family. 4 blood siblings, and Iva who married Joe (lower right). My dad (top center) and my Aunt Goldie (top right) are the only remaining siblings still alive. Time passes, and new life is born, but it also means the slow but sure end of a generation....and a lifetime of precious memories remains..... EDIT: just watched the funeral, it was streamed from the gravesite. Two of her 3 children, my cousins, were talking and one held up a self-portrait Iva did when she was 13 years old. Incredible....art was a big part of her life (she taught art for many years, and I remember some paintings and sculptures in their home of hers).

Jacob, don't have an answer to your 1-cat or 2-cat question. When in doubt, I always would try to merge cats into a household. But do it as carefully as possible. But that said, I tried that when my first cat was older (7 or 8 years of being 1-cat with me). There was an adult cat I tried to bring in, keeping them separated in different areas (and the new cat in a room not used by my cat). In the end, there was still too much hissing and scratching, with nearly a nasty vet bill once had I not used a couch pillow to split them up.... I had to bring the new cat to a no-kill shelter with a large donation. I cried on the way home....

I forgot how much I love the songwriting by them, and Tracy Thorn's imperfect yet perfect delivery....

RIP Exogal the company.....really too bad....the Comet was one of my all-time favorite DAC's, and the mindset behind this company was pretty great (some ex-Wadia folks included).

I'm with you, Dan.....lost my Aunt for the same reason, though SHE wasn't so right wing but her (influencing) children are apparently....

RIP to a random person: Krysten Gentile. Krysten died a few days ago, at age 40, of stage 4 metastatic breast cancer. She worked at the same company as my wife Karen; I was able to meet her once when she and Karen had a Zoom call with each other. I poked in and had a brief but very pleasant chat; Krysten's persona - so bright and beautiful - shown through even in that brief moment. A truly beautiful and amazing woman, she fought hard, and was public in her fight and in positive thinking to help others. She created a web site & podcasts with another Philadelphia-area woman with stage 4, "Making The Breast Of It." She touched Karen's life, and even a tiny bit of mine. Obituary: Krysten M. Gentile (nolanfidale.com) And....FUCK cancer!
