Posted on FB, had an awesome Music and Audio day yesterday. A vendor demo visit to a local dealer, met new people, listened to a near-$500K system, and reminisced with some old coots like myself who loved the Boston music scene in the 70's and 80's. Re-connected with an industry guy who I hadn't seen in maybe 25 years....got a hug of support when we shared our spouses' cancer history. His wife is still living, and I stressed to him to be ever-vigilant and monitor as much as possible; I'd rather scare people a bit and have them advocate than to keep losing lives thinking "I'm 100% cured." I just hope she never has to go back to treatments. But was a wonderful time. I won a raffle item of a McIntosh-sponsored Johnny Cash audiophile LP set. From the original Sun Master Tapes, 45rpm 180Gram vinyl, yada yada. Looking forward to trying it out! On the live music scene, last night an Audio Buddy and I saw Hiromi on her Sonicwonder tour. Just a stunning and engaging show! I last saw her in 2013, and both times were just fantastic. The venue was lovely as well....and an Angel's Envy neat in an "adult sippy cup" (plastic cup with plastic cover to help reduce spills) topped the eve off well.

Sarah McLachlan - Better Broken. I have been a fan since since her fist album, but at times she has been very dramatic for my taste; I think she has great passion but at times it seems TOO much. But anyone who supports animals so much is fine by me! Her latest is a very good listen; she brings the passion still, and this one is almost all great. Lovely lady, lovely listen.

Not QUITE as good as some of her other "documentaries," but still fun!

Very Happy Birthday!!

New Chameleons, Arctic Moon. Some similarity to their older work, but much is new and different. Lyrically I love it, and the music fits each song. Lead singer Vox (used to be Mark Burgess) puts some soul and emotion into the words, representing relationships, new-found love but also the scary nature of the modern world (last song for example is called Saviors Are A Dangerous Thing). But it's certainly an acquired taste. I'm loving it so far.....

Was just reading about Betty Soo....looking forward to trying.....thanks!

Belinda Carlisle - Once Upon A Time In California. Chose it for a great song selection of covers. And....she managed to destroy just about every one.....she manages to sing with fairly good inflection, but ALSO somehow manages to suck the life out of every song on the album. Arrangements and such are so-so, sometimes pretty bad. Or maybe it's just me 🤣 EDIT: wasn't even through with the whole album, and got to a cover of Nilsson's Everybody's Talkin' and it is just fucking horrible!

RIP to a hockey legend, Ken Dryden. Even as a Boston Bruins fan and forever-enemy of the Montreal Canadiens, he was something special. And fuck fuck fuck cancer! https://www.cbc.ca/sports/hockey/nhl/ken-dryden-obit-1.7627028

Anja Huwe - Codes. Ex-lead singer of Xmal Deutschland, always a good listen. She left music for years, but in 2024 came out with a solo album. Good mix of styles, German and English lyrics. Enjoy it a fair bit! One of the more Industrial-like songs:
