^^^ LOVE Propaganda! The 2 original female singers are in a new band, xPropaganda; they have a new album out (as well as Claudia having done a good amount of solo stuff as well as under the band name Act). Interestingly, the two male members are coming out in October with a new album under the Propaganda name. A single is already out. Seems interesting, but most of the albums that any of them have done outside the line-up from that album (maybe excluding Act's one album) have not been as enjoyable for me personally.

Dinner out in Maine with Karen and her sister Jill. We had a nice outside spot that looked out over a water inlet in Kennebunkport (a beautiful coastal and tourist town; the Bush family has an estate there)....

Bedouine - s/t Nice easy pop folk, nice sound without becoming too boring. Love her voice! This one is in my Roon library, her other stuff seems good as well.

Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds - Wild God. Jury still out after one listen through, but it's certainly got that majesty that he's delivered before. A little more positive vibes as well. Will need some more plays to see how it catches on, but I'd say very good so far.

Got my latest COVID booster (Pfizer) today. With Karen in treatments and us doing some travelling soon we wanted to be caught up. We got the latest version, didn't think it was coming out until later September or October; so feel good about that.

Nice, thanks! As an PF fan of their earliest music plus a couple post-Meddle albums, my only dislike is the the intro to Astronomy Domine (one of my all-time favorites). The above performance, and also on Umma Gumma, has what I call the "shaky keyboard" start. I still like the original Syd Barrett-era intro. In later years, David Gilmour would do the original intro style when he played this. Nit-picking for sure, but isn't that what the deepest (most OCD 🤣) fans do?

^^^ SO SO SO right Nate. I knew 3 people from my High School class who committed suicide, all of them probably could have used a friendly ear and voice. I didn't know Matt well at all, just a couple interactions on H-F back in the day. But I'm very glad he is remembered so well by many here!

^^^ LOVED that movie URGH! A Music War! Some friends and I skipped a class in High School to get a bus into Boston to see in, forgot which theater. I was already into several of the bands that had clips in it, but it also had several new ones to try out. I wasn't so much into Devo at the time, as some of that circle of friends were overboard with it. I have a vivid memory of several of them wearing the red hats and doing the "line dance" that shows in the clip above at the ~2:30 mark.... They've certainly grown on me, but it was a little much in the day.

Thanks Doug. No "argument" per se from me....many of them I'd choose as well, would indeed change the order of some. But everything is just an opinion, this one just expressed in an more public article.

Done! All the best Nate! -
Got to see (again) my favorite band, The Chameleons. My son joined me for this one. Two of the original members, plus an extremely talented 3 other musicians. This was the best I think I've seen them since the full group reunion in 2000/2001. Just an amazing show, my son agreed. They had incorporated some keyboards into some of their music, and usually didn't tour with a keyboard player. This time they did, and it added a great extra layer of sound/ambience to many of the songs. Interesting tidbit more for local music fans: the second opener was a band called Lovina Falls. The singer was the lead singer of a 90's dream-pop type band in Boston called Mistle Thrush; I have a couple of their CD's. I was today years old when I found out the current Chameleons drummer was the drummer for Mistle Thrush! Spoke to the lead singer about it after the show, she couldn't stop praising him; and was so happy to open for the Chameleons - she's apparently a good fan. Lovina Falls and Chameleons

What an awesome ending! Glad things are looking so great, Steve. And big thanks to and kudos for for Al and family/friends #NFLO!!!!

Every now and then I put this on, Bjork with a backing Jazz Band. Really lots of fun and pretty good music! One of my favorite songs

^^ Funny you say that, Steve! I remember greatly playing Animals on 8-track. With all the longer tracks on the album, they decide to break tracks on the shortest, Pigs On The Wing. And maybe it WAS a good idea, that being my (and my brothers') least favorite song.....

Fantastic insight Mike!! I have always loved this album as well....
