  1. Same here, Dan. He came to my college and gave an incredible speech in his active days. But yes, in later years something switched off..... I still look to his earlier legacy as good.
  2. Amused..... Several things stand out to me: They spent ten years getting it wrong, and now it's right? This ultimate peak seems like the intro to CD: perfect sound forever Japanese Hipster Marketers naming it "Collexion" does NOT resonate Japanese Hipster Engineers have funny hats šŸ˜„
  3. I miss the good old days when Winny Puhh was entering the contest for Eurovision appearances....
  4. Happy Boythday! (I’m in New Joisey 😊)
  5. Thanks all. Won't be able to make the service, but will go down to NJ for Shiva/visiting.....
  6. They are a fun listen.....I can't remember if it was posted here, but I also liked another Ukrainian group, Yagody....
  7. RIP to my aunt, Gladys "Goldie" Schultz, 87. She was an amazing woman, very calm and logical, yet with a deep compassion and a wonderfully dry sense of humor (I was recently told she was a tiny bit on the spectrum, makes sense now). She was an early woman in tech, mother of 3 wonderful kids, and so much more. She will be missed....and my dad is now the last living person from that generation.... She now joins her husband, my Uncle Ron.
  8. Hope it’s an awesome day and much more!!
  9. Spent about $800 on several hours of work to clear drains. Tree roots, misc. stuff that ends up like dried and hardened oatmeal, etc. Caused my downstairs toilet to back up 3 times in the last ~3 weeks. Had to be done. One of the homeowner expenses I never had to deal with before.....lots of fun </sarcasm> On the "more worse" or "can't be fixed" side, spoke with 2 cousins today, and my aunt who is now in hospice. She's up and down, actually sounded good today but gets tired quickly. So the call was only about 7 or so minutes.... An amazing woman who's lived a long and good life; she was an early woman in tech. One of my cousins told me today what I had suspected but never asked: my aunt is a tiny bit on the autism spectrum. She has always been kind of logical/less emotional, showing a very dry and often-hidden sense of humor, and a compassion that is deep down but you knew it is there. She has her plans/wants for after she dies, and can easily discuss it. An incredible woman, and my favorite aunt. Anyways, too much shit, in some cases literally.
  10. And of course, Wagner's work with Elmer Fudd and Bugs Bunny was the peak of his career 🤣
  11. Did I say twenty (fucking) seven wicker baskets? I MEANT thirty-fucking-one! Three more pictured here, and one that is being used as a base for a fake house plant. šŸ™„šŸ¤£
  12. I've been cleaning the house and doing some organizing. I'm maybe 5% of the way there..... 😮 Karen would always call me a hoarder....and she's right, for certain things (like audio gear). But today I gave the second of two sets of wicker baskets away. Twenty-seven baskets given. Twenty-fucking-seven! I have a long road ahead of me. But it's feeling good to clean, and lots of goodies being given away. I've had 8 visitors collecting things between yesterday and today. I think one, maybe two more tomorrow; and one Monday. That's if I don't add any more stuff, which will likely happen. Twenty-seven fucking wicker baskets....🤣 EDIT: pics of 21 of the 27 (a few look the same, but not repeats), the others I had in another area and brought them over when one person came by
  13. VERY lovely, thanks! Amelia sounds wonderful and I had never heard Gregory before; they sound very good together. Downloaded a 24-bit version to try on one of my systems, a fair bit of Sylvan Esso's stuff sounds pretty good.
  14. Fun! Adorable, manic, quirky, talented....the whole band is very good! .....A CHAIR flute! 🤣
  15. Not bad at all.... I have read in some forums that people are saying how much Ian has lost his voice....you can see some strain there, but still pretty great..... Now I want to check out the song they did with Alison Moyet!
  16. SOME of us were able to figure that out already.....! 🤣 j/k, thanks Mikey!
  17. Up at the Maine condo this weekend, a cloudy & cold day turned into a stunner of a beautiful one! Went into Kennebunkport and next to no one was there. Had a great walk around, bought some arty shit, and stayed for dinner. Have always enjoyed Alisson's Restaurant for better-than-pub dining, tonight sat at the bar and had a Lagavulin 16 and my favorite of theirs, the Lobster Bisque Lobster Roll. Worth the $, along with a brief chat with a couple folks at the bar.
  18. Couple things.....my LinkedIn transformation is as complete as I think I'll get. Added a pronoun (Red Lectroid) and updated my profile pic. Next up: met three school friends, all Jewish women, one of whom I hadn't seen in 40 years! An awesome time catching up, and spending time with them all. The woman I hadn't seen in 40 years gave me 3 things from her scrapbook: my Bar-Mitzvah invitation, the Party Invitation, and my Thank You note to her. All about 48+ years old! It was incredible! She and her husband live in Southern Maine, not far from my condo up there. So we'll definitely get together! I am fucking LOVING retirement!
  19. ^^ That's awesome! Made me think of this song, mixing a tiny bit of Tuvan throat singing with Gaelic Mouth Music (and American? beats). I listened to this album last week, she is amazing!
  20. Saw it was your BDay on my mobile, and thought I'd post when I get home....looks like we all forgot! Hope it was a great day, and wish you many many more! BTW: one of my (humorous) pet peeves are people who wish "Happy Belated Birthday." The BIRTHDAY wasn't late, your wish was!! 🤣
  21. Son Andrew and I saw my favorite band The Chameleons again, his third time with me. This ranks as one of their best shows for me....incredible passion and energy throughout! First opening band was my second time seeing them, Lovina Falls. Lots of great music, and got a couple nice pics: one with Reg Smithies of The Chameleons; he doesn't pose for pics that much and when he does, he points his finger at his picture partner. I got to do the same. And Valerie Forgione from Lovina Falls took a nice pic with me as well.
